My eyes widened when I saw a sack of rice or foods being dragged by the baby using its tongue... The sack is made of plastic and the baby zombie acid tounge doesn't have effect, HowM
"Mama! Mama! Mama!" the baby said as he put the sack in front of me. I opened it and surprised to see that it was full of canned goods! That can be eaten! And there's bread too!
" We have foodd guys! !" I said to Dylan.
"Really?!" they replied.
I pulled the sack while one of my hands was holding this baby who was jumping on me.
" Get the half inside and put it here, Let's give those survivors in the rooftop some foods " I said Dylan giving the sack to them Then The baby zombie startled me , jumping at me.
"You're so naughty, what's your name baby?" I asked.
"Mama! Mama! "
-_-
"Okay, I'll just name you then hmm. What should i name you? " I looked at him and put him down. Ah i know!
" I'll call you Baby Zomma! "
Zom is from zombie and since he kept saying Mama. I put the Ma hehehee
Baby Zomma, My Baby Zombie
FLASHBACK END...
"Mama?"
I look at Zomma and smile.
"I'm lucky I met you, Zomma. But you need to stop calling me Mama," I say, patting Zomma's head. He looks sad.
"What about calling me brother?" I suggest, and he looks at me, smiling and showing his black teeth. Ugh! I really need to do something about those teeth.
"B-brother!" He jumps at me, and I catch him, but we fall! I'm too small to carry Zomma.
"Okay, okay, I'm heading back now, Zomma. Behave here, okay? I'll come back tomorrow and bring you food since there's nothing left here," I say, looking at the cages.
Zomma nods, and I go up, avoiding the guards. I walk back inside the warehouse, hoping Ariela and Geo didn't notice I was gone. I walk to our house and see that they don't notice me. I change clothes, put my dirty ones in a plastic bag, and then in the trash bin. I lay down beside Ariela and Geo. I sigh in relief and sleep with a smile.
Morning comes. We eat breakfast. I'm lucky they have a meeting; I think they will discuss teaching the kids the truth about the world outside the walls. It's my chance then.
"Go play with BJ, Az," Ariela says, kissing my forehead, and then Geo pats my head.
"We'll just have a meeting with the others," Geo says, smiling.
"Okay, Mom, Dad," I say, and they leave.
Pak!
My eyes almost pop out because of BJ slapping my back! Ughh! This girl!
"Yo! Let's play again, Az!" she says while the other kids follow her.
"Not now, I have something to do," I say and remove BJ's arm from my shoulder, fixing my clothes.
"You sound like an adult, Az," Thame says, combing her hair. If BJ is boyish, then Thame is the real definition of a girl.
"Where are you going, bud?" Reed asks, holding a ball.
"None of your business," I say and start to walk away when Roseann blocks my way and gives me a flower. I look at her, confused.
"G-Good morning, Azriel," she says, blushing and unable to look me in the eyes. I slap my forehead. How will I get away from these kids?!
"Let's go, guys. Don't push him if he doesn't want to play. Remember, Azriel is W.E.A.K," I look at BJ seriously, and she just smirks, pulling Roseann away while the other kids follow her.
BJ won't be a problem to me in the future, right? I really hope so.
"Whew, what was that, Az? Is BJ bullying you?" Aldren asks. Ughh, more kids!
"That's impossible. I won't let a girl like BJ bully me," I say and walk, but Aldren and his friends follow me. He's actually older than me, 10 years old, with his two friends.
"Why are you following me?" I ask irritably.
"Just curious. You've changed, you know? You were scared of BJ, but now you're not."
"So what? It's none of your business, okay?" I say, entering the kitchen and leaving them behind. Then I see other kids bothering the chef.
"Hey! Get out of here! Don't bother the chefs!" I say. The other kids startle and immediately run outside. We're really lucky to have survivors who can cook. What if they stop cooking because the kids bother them?!
"Sir Azriel, what can we do for you?" one of the chefs asks.
"Sir? Drop that. I'm just a kid looking for food. Do you still have some leftovers?" I ask, and he smiles, bending down to show me.
"Can I have that? And please don't ask why and keep this a secret. From now on, don't throw away the leftovers. Give them to me, okay?" I ask politely, and they look at each other.
"But Azriel, why?" he asks.
"I got a dog, but I know Mom will get angry, so I'm raising it secretly. So please, help me? Hmm?" I ask, acting cute.
"Aww! So cute!"
"Give it to him, Sis! Look at Sir Azriel, he's too cute!"
Hehee, got ya!
They give me the plastic bag of leftover food, especially bones, and I smile widely.
"Thank you, guys! From now on, okay?" I say and leave. I go out using the back door and look around. The basement is on the opposite side of the basketball court, so I doubt anyone will be here.
I look around and run to the door on the ground, immediately getting in. I go down the stairs and see Zomma sleeping on the floor, sucking his thumb.
Where should I put this food? The only table here is the big one in the middle, but there are a lot of documents on it that I need to look at, so better find something else. Hmm. I look around and see buttons on the walls with words on them. I clap! I love this basement!
I push the button labeled "table," and from the walls, a table with a chair emerges. Cool! I climb up the chair and put the food on the table, then climb down. Hmm, what else is here? Wait, I should throw these cages away. I pick up the mini cages, but I can only carry three. Where should I throw these? I put down the cages and look at the buttons on the wall until I see one on the ground. I step on it, and a trash bin emerges from the wall.
My eyes sparkle. This is really amazing. I take the cages and throw them all in the trash bin. After taking all the trash out, I step on the button again, and the trash bin goes back into the wall. Nice. I wonder who made this?
Now, the next step is cleaning the floor, but I don't have anything to use. I look at the wall again, and there's nothing at my height, so I take a chair and stand on it to look at the buttons above. I see one labeled "cleaning." I push this button and fall from the chair when the floor shifts into sparkling clean tiles! Wow! But my butt hurts.
"B-Brother?" Zomma is awake now.
"Good morning, Zomma. We should find you a bed, but first, I brought you food," I say and take the food from the table, giving it to Zomma.
"Brother! Food! Human!" he says happily and starts munching.
"Yes, Zomma, human food," I smile. It seems like the serum I injected into Zomma is still working. When I was still Ajena, I was working on finding the antidote to this zombie virus, but I ended up making a serum that made Zomma lose his appetite for raw meat, including humans and animals. It also changed his taste buds. Now raw meat tastes awful to him. But having nothing to eat, Zomma had no choice but to eat the animals here to ease his hunger.
I pat Zomma. Poor baby zombie.
"Brother! Yummy! Food! Humans! Hehee," he says, chewing the cooked carrots.
I walk around the room and look at all the buttons within my reach. I push the ones with the words I need, especially "bed" and "table with experimenting tools," more like tubes, and another table. Hmm, and also "toilet." Wow, there's also a button labeled "kitchen." I push it, and instead of something coming out of the wall, a wide door opens with a kitchen inside. I'll check the others another day.
I approach Zomma, who is now full. He ate half of the food, so I put the other half on the table. Ugh! It's annoying climbing up and down the chair just to reach the table. I wish I could grow faster!
Now, I pull Zomma to the kitchen. We climb a chair, and I wash his hands and face. After that, we sit on the floor. I take out a nail clipper from my pocket and start cutting his nails.
"Brother?" Baby Zomma looks at me with curiosity.
"We need to cut your nails so you won't scratch me or others," I say. After that, Zomma looks at his hands and seems happy, but then he becomes sad and holds my leg.
"Brother? Pain?"
"Nope, not anymore. So turn around. We're trimming your hair," I say and take out scissors from my other pocket. I start trimming Zomma's hair shorter. It's amazing how fresh Zomma's hair is. I feel guilty seeing the marks of injections on his arms. Well, I used his blood for experiments because I thought he might be the key to ending this apocalypse, but he's not.
But I got positive results that have good use. Wait! Where are my serums? Oh no! I must find them! I hope they didn't throw them away. Most of those serums are made by mixing Zomma's blood with my blood as Ajena.
I've finished and cleaned the floor. I pull Zomma and lift him into the bed.
"Stay here, okay? I'll come back again tonight," I say, and as I'm about to leave, Zomma grabs my collar.
"Brother? Leaving? Come back, no?" he says.
I smile weakly.
"I'm sorry for leaving you before, Zomma, but I promise! I won't leave you alone anymore," I say, and he nods.
I'm sorry for locking you up under the warehouse. He must have been really sad and hungry since I locked his room and forgot to give the key to Rose. Imagine being locked in that room for 8 years. If he didn't get here, he might have attacked the survivors out of hunger. I'm proud of Zomma.
"Come back, Brother," he says. I nod and leave. I walk up, opening the door, looking around, and immediately go out, covering the door with rocks and grass.
I have something to cover this so I can come here freely. I sigh.
"What are you doing, Az?!"
My eyes widen and my heart beats fast. Oh sh*t! How?! There were no people earlier! I don't turn around to see who saw me.
"Did you just..."
Damn it!
