Chapter 19 New neighbor

"Haha, finally my very own privacy. I can do whatever I want without any care."

Rex laughed then decided to explore his new house. A simple yet lavish-looking but behind that, it was advanced with futuristic technology. Yato hired some engineers from I-Island to make it filled with technological advancement.

There was a 360 bounded field that will alert Rex and his AI if someone tried to sneak in. There were also nanobots, finger size bots, which can capture or even kill potential threats.

Onto normal parts, it has many rooms which Rex could spare if his family or future friends wants to stay. There was also a gym with 15 meters field if he wants to train. He didn't ask for any big training facility which his family house has since he will be training at school.

"Let's check the underground part."

After checking everything from the surface, he decided to explore the underground part. It was divided into 2 sections. One was a studio filled with many musical instruments and recording devices and the other was his laboratory personally made by Yato and Rex. It was filled with any normal equipment with some rats for experimenting. Since he was still a minor without any license, he could only get normal science equipment… on the surface.

He could have passed some papers on technological advancement, skip high school and start his career but he had done that shit in his previous life and he was not going to do that again. Even in middle school, he was a top student but he had not done anything outstanding. Even his grades were only high because he didn't want to shame his parents and also to get a recommendation.

As for the music studio, he recently developed an interest in music. He liked to listen to music and sometimes play in his previous life but this time he wanted to try something.

"Jarvis, did you found anyone suspicious during the construction," Rex asked the AI.

[Not at all sir. Their nerves were stable and their records were clear.] Jarvis answered. He put sensors in the house to allow Jarvis to observe the workers.

He made this AI when he was just 10 but he revealed it to his parents when he was thirteen. Yato and Ryu share the same AI while he made his own. Ryu's research was based on molecular science so he didn't use AI much. Yato on other hand was a devil fox so he needed an AI to hack some records and use them for his gain. Rex wanted his personal AI because his plans require more than politics. He couldn't rely on anyone but himself and he wanted a partner.

He named it after a famous AI in one of his favorite movies. Since he has memory, he could easily remember them. It was a hero movie very similar to his new world. He had an AI in his previous life too but it had a female voice name Mel-chan…..

"Good. Anything I should know?"

[Just that I have stopped stock trading in Japan and the US before I could alert cybersecurity.]

"Well, sell the shares of small companies and stop the trading. I have more than enough money. Anything else regarding this area?"

[Not at all sir. This area is peaceful with a low crime rate. I am sorry sir but my observation radius is limited.]

"No need to apologize. I programmed you like this." Rex smiled then started to think about what type of song he should make. There were similar songs in both worlds but he wanted to make a theme first.

"A theme huh…"

In this world of heroes, there was no shortage of rock music to boost the morale of heroes. He was also going to become a hero and he wanted to make a theme related to them.

Romance… Let's say that music comes from your heart. A hopeless virgin like Rex, romance was something he never experienced. He got a girlfriend in his previous life but he found her cheating and got ED. He kicked relationships and put all his efforts to reach far in the universe. So romance is still a sore spot for Rex.

"Hmm, a theme for heroes… ancient heroes…?"

Heroes without any costume or attack names. In his previous life, he liked to read stories about knights and magic. Even his mother had the same quirk. When fighting, she looked like a Valkyrie or goddess. He wanted to write a theme related to it.

"It is 11 am now. Let's start to write first."

He started to write a theme note related to many instruments. He was not an amateur since he could play well many instruments.

After writing for an hour, he decided to cook something. He knows how to cook and make anything taste good but he was nowhere near the level of Yato who had been cooking for many years. He remembered a chef from U.A. who was also trained by Yato.

Anyway, he cooked simple ramen for lunch but not before making dessert. He had a sweet tooth and loves to eat sweet dishes. He baked two cakes, one for him and one for neighbors. He ate his lunch while the desert was cooling down.

"Hey Jarvis, do we have neighbors?"

[Yes sir. There is a family of three people right next door. Do you want me to investigate them?]

"No. Jeez, talk about privacy. If they knew I am keeping an eye on them, they will be freak out and report to authorities. Let's try to be civil here." Rex said and wore his precious stainless lab coat and big glasses. Same loose t-shirt and below knees trousers. The lab coat was a gift from Yato made of stainless fabric that was also a nanite conductor. He loved his lab coat and always wore it.

He picked the mango cake and walked the house beside his. He pressed the bell and after some time a girl opened the door. She had short hair, lazy-looking onyx eyes, and a slender build. There were also jacks attached to her ears.

"Yes?" Girl asked.

"Hello miss beautiful, I am Rex, your new neighbor!" Rex introduced himself.

"Okay…? So you are from that new house which has been constructing for a while." The girl smiled and said. She found him funny from his appearance and the way he talked.

"Achem, yes. Sorry for the inconvenience. I just shifted today so I thought to bring something nice for you. Here take this." Rex said and gave the girl the box.

"Oh thank you. Why don't you come inside and have lunch with us?" The girl asked casually. She also smelled a sweet scent from the cake Rex brought and can't wait to eat.

"Sorry, but I have work to do since I just shifted here. Maybe next time." Rex said and decided to leave since she was in the middle of her lunch.

"Okay. By the way…"

"Yeah?"

"My name is Kyoka Jiro." The girl introduced herself. Rex nodded with a smile and left.
