Chapter 20 Apocrypha

"Who was it, honey?" Kyoka heard a voice and saw her mother and father at the lunch table.

"New neighbor from that big house. He brought a cake." Kyoka said sitting down.

"Ho? Is it a boy? Was he handsome? Is he single?" Her mother, Mika Jiro launched a barrage of questions.

"N-No mom, he gave me a cake and left," Kyoka said with a blush. She remembered calling Rex beautiful but she thought that he was just being casual with her.

"He must have to go through me if he wants my daughter!" Kyotoku Jiro said with a stern attitude.

"Stop it, you guys!" Kyoka said with a red face. She shook her head and decided to eat. After lunch, they ate the cake that Rex brought. They ate the most delicious cake in their life. Before they knew it was already gone. Judging from the description of Rex, it was highly unlikely that he had made it himself.

"Let's invite this young man to dinner," Mika said with a clap.

"He still has to go through me if he wants the hand of my daughter!" Kyotoku said.

"Oh, I am going to my room." She sighed and went to study to listen to some music.

Rex came back to the studio and set the camera. The camera was only showing the musical instruments that he will be playing.

He first started to play the violin. It was a classical theme and the violin was playing the main role in this theme. After, fifteen minutes of practice, he started to play for the recording. During this, he felt a current run down to his spine and his spirit rising.

He then started to play other musical instruments. For drums, he played Zendrum, a hand-crafted MIDI controller that is used as a percussion instrument. He also invented this with Yato since it didn't exist in his current world. He played the flute, piano, and other instruments to give a more classical vibe.

"How was it, Jarvis?" Rex asked his only talking partner.

[It was great sir. With some editing, your theme will raise the heroes' spirit.]

Rex nodded then sat down to start editing the theme on his computer. After a while, he recorded himself and uploaded the video on Jtube and other platforms with the 'help' of Jarvis.

"Whelp, time to watch some Spanish movies." Saying this, he went to the living room to watch his favorite movie on a large plasma TV.

Kyoka was searching for some new hero-related punk music when she saw a video uploaded by an amateur but it was classical music. She clicked on the video anyway.

[Hello ladies and gentle heroes. I am Mech and today I am going to present you with a classical theme for our heroes. I recorded this theme playing many instruments. It is called the Apocrypha. It is dedicated to heroes.]

She watched a boy hiding his face and wearing the same t-shirt that she saw Rex wearing today. Unlike Rex, Mech had a good build. He then started to play the theme.

He slowly started to make rhythm with the piano but then increased the pace. She was surprised and stood up from her seat. She wondered how this amateur was playing with these many instruments? Then he started to play the violin. She didn't know why but she wanted to fight and dance.

She felt she entered a world where she is a night and was standing behind a hero. She saw the image of her favorite hero Bishamon in armor riding a horse.

When the theme hit the climax, an electric current went down to her spine.

"Wow, this is great!!" She spins in joy and can't help but listen to this theme.

Mech continued to play the theme before ending it.

[So guys please tell me, how was it? I won't be uploading continuously but whenever I got the motivation, I will make more music. Please support me from now on.]

And then the video ended. She was surprised by the number of views. It already passed 30k and the audience was going crazy about it. She also typed her comment and read the rest.

Hellsing: Ahh it reminds me of my feats. I am gonna hunt some vampires while listening to this.

Kyoka was listening to this theme while reading comments. She decided to show this to her parents if they know this guy.

"Hmm~ Miss Jiro, just like your refined beauty, your food is delicious. I am gonna be rude and eat till I am full." Rex said munching food.

"Oh my, you could eat all you want to your heart's content~," Mika said with her hand on her cheek and a smile.

"Despite looking like a nerd, you are good with the words," Kyotoku said when Rex was trying to flirt with his wife but felt a pinch from her wife.

"Don't be rude to our guest," Mika said.

"Thanks for the compliment, old man," Rex said and continued to eat. Mika and Kyoka chuckled while Kyotoku was annoyed.

When Rex started to make dinner, Kyoka invited him to the dinner. Rex was happy that he didn't have to cook now and happily agreed. Now, he was munching food nonstop.

Rex found that they were some kind of musicians since all of them looking like singers. Their house looks like a music studio. He also saw many instruments and records in a room. He could search for their information but he didn't want to intervene in their privacy.

"So, judging from your appearance, you look like a science student," Mika asked after they finished eating.

"Well I am not exactly a science student but I like to do research and some experiments. This lab coat is my favorite so I like to wear it."

Mika nodded then asked Rex some personal questions like if he was living alone, where he is from, and also if he is single.

"Mom!" Kyoka cough and said with a blush. She didn't know why Rex was wearing oversize glasses since it was covering most of his face and eyes but from muscle on his legs and hands, she could tell that he was pretty strong. He was also taller than her.

"Yup, I am single for the moment," Rex said with a smile.

"It will be hard for you to find a cute girl, boy," Kyotoku said.

"Well, Miss Jiro is a beautiful woman but she married to you, old man. I think I have got plenty of time." Rex said and more tick marks appeared on Kyotoku's head while Kyoka and Mika chuckled. "So you guys are musicians?"

"Yeah, dad is a composer while mom also likes to sing. Punk music is our favorite." This time it was Kyoka who spoke when it comes to music, she becomes excited.

"Wow, I also like music too but I like classical music. Spanish songs are one of my favorite." Rex said.

"Come to think of it, there is a new composer who created a classical theme. I wonder who this young man is��" Mika said. Rex who heard that flinched a little but Kyoka noticed it.

"Oh really? Maybe I will try it sometime. It's getting late. I should be going. Thank you, Mr and Miss Jiro for the hospitality."

They bid farewell to each other and Kyoka walked with Rex to the door.

"Hey, Rex?"

"Yeah?"

Kyoka typed something on her phone and showed a video to Rex where a boy with the same t-shirt was playing a theme. "This you, right?" Kyoka asked.

Rex blamed his stupidity to change his attire when recording. He was in the same attire except for the lab coat.

"Yeah…" Rex said scratching his back.

"Really? That's so cool!" Kyoka said closing the distance. When she realized that she was very close to Rex, she blushed and cough, "Well… why did you hide it?"

"Haha, I just don't want to reveal my identity. Besides, I won't be posting it regularly. Please don't say this to your parents."

"Yeah, I won't. It is amazing that you created that theme alone with such emotions. I am still feeling the sensation of that theme." Kyoka said happily then sighed. "It's a bummer that you won't be making it again." She said then felt a hand and saw Rex patting her.

"Chill out girl, I didn't say I am stopping it," Rex said and smiled.

Kyoka blushed then shook his hands away. "Jeez, I am not a kid." She said then added, "Then I want to be the first person to hear your song when you make it."

"Deal. It's boring doing things alone anyway. Well then see you next time, Jiro." Rex said walking away.

"Kyoka."

"Hmm?"

"Call me Kyoka," Kyoka said with rosy cheeks.

Rex smiled then put down his glasses revealing his charming figure. Kyoka widened her eyes. Purple eyes silky black hair surfing in the breeze and fair skin radiating in the moonlight.

"Well Kyoka, call me Rex. See you soon." Saying thing, he left. Kyoka snapped out when Rex finally left. She didn't know what happened but her heart was pounding hard. She sighed and closed the door.

[Sir, I think you just raised a flag.] Rex heard Jarvis from the sensor of glasses.

"Flag? Is that a new machine idea?"

[… Sir, for the sake of the next generation, please play some dating games.]
