A Discovery

"There we go, that's one done. Now, Tsuyu should be finishing up soon."

On cue, All Mights voice rings out, "Hero Team wins!"

I make my Bungee Gum disappear, and Kirishima stands up, brushing the dust off of his costume.

After he's done, he turns to me and sticks his hand out, "I didn't know that you knew how to fight. That one punch hurt a bit."

I take his hand and grin slightly, "I've taken a few classes."

We both walk out and we soon meet up with Tsuyu and Sero, the latter giving off a depressing vibe. Kirishima asks what happened and Sero mumbles a few inaudible sentences and continues walking.

I turn to Asui, "Did it go as planned?"

She gives me a thumbs up with one hand, and hands me a metal card that I had given her, "Exactly as you said, kero."

I smirk and we head back to the monitor room, where All Might makes several screens pop up showing what happened simultaneously. While I was distracting Kirishima, Sero was guarding the bomb. Not too long after Kirishima had left, Kirishima noticed something in the camera that was facing towards Sero.

"Oy, that vent…"

The vent suddenly fell to the floor and Asui popped out. Sero turned around, with a shocked expression on his face, but it was too late. Asui had already leapt onto the bomb, the metal card in her left hand.

All Might nods his head and pauses the video, "Anyone wants to take a guess at who the MVP is?"

Momo raises her hand, "Shiro performed well as a hero. Knowing him, the plan to have Asui infiltrate through the air vents was his idea?"

She says the last part while looking at me, and I grin at her, "Yup."

"He took into account his teammates' quirk as well as took note of the building schematics. He also not only distracted Kirishima successfully and drew away one of the villains from the bomb, but he also managed to capture Kirishima, making Tsuyu's job easier."

Bakugo glares at me and Todoroki quickly judges me.

All Might gives her thumbs up, "Exactly, planning is a big part of being a hero. While going in guns blazing works, you can take a more subtle route that gets the job in a cleaner fashion."

Then my classmates start asking questions.

Denki asks first, "Shiro, what is that thing you have on your back?"

Kirishima looks behind me and notices the series of metal loops and strands of Bungee Gum going through each of them, "Oh, what kind of support gear is that?"

I turn around and begin to explain, "I guess the simplest way to explain it is that it's like an exoskeleton. I expand and retract my Bungee Gum to boost my movements. Bungee Gum has the properties of both rubber and gum, so if I suddenly retract inside, the other side will shoot out."

I take a basic punching stance, and my classmates could see the Bungee Gum contract for a second on the left side, while my right arm shoots out.

I turn back around, "Of course by itself, it isn't that strong or fast, but if I combine it with strength, then I can deal damage against people that are physically stronger or have some kind of defensive quirk."

They all look impressed at my support gear, and Mina asks the next question, "What was with the card?"

I look at Asui, who shrugs her shoulders, "He gave the card and told me it's useful since the vent would probably be screwed down kero."

All Might look at me with a smile, "Good thing that you had planned that in advance, Shiro. Now then, onto the next fights!"

The next teams are drawn, and it's Todoroki and Shoji as the heroes, vs. Ojiro and Hagakure as the villains.

'Todoroki and Shoji, huh? So far I haven't seen much of Shoji's quirk, I know that he can replicate organs, but to what extent? As for Todoroki…'

The two teams go and set up and I walk up to Momo, "Who do you think is gonna win?"

She looks at the two teams, "The Hero team will definitely win. The villains have no counter for Todoroki's ice. I don't know the scale of his powers, but he seems proficient enough."

I nod, agreeing with her, "Sound about right."

The hero team moves in and Shoji creates several pairs of ears from his limbs and two sets of mouths and begins to tell Todoroki something, 'I wonder, are those enhanced?'

Todoroki replies something and Shoji walks outside. After that, Todoroki freezes the whole building and we can even feel the cold from the monitor room.

'Tch, I expected this, but he can probably go a lot further than freezing a building.'

Most of the people are shivering, and Kaminari mutters, "A-as e-expected of a r-r-recemmon-ded student."

We watch as Todoroki takes the stairs up and promptly walks up to the 4th floor.

All Might smile through the cold, "H-he did n-not cause any d-d-damage to his t-teammate or the n-nuclear w-weapon, o-on top of that, h-he weakened his e-enemy."

I look to the side and see Bakugo gritting his teeth glaring at Todoroki.

Todoroki quickly touches the bomb, ending the round. Then, something unexpected happened. The ice quickly starts to melt and heatwaves could be seen emanating from Todoroki's arm. Soon the whole building is steaming.

I sigh to myself, 'Fire and Ice… I should've expected it from Endeavour's son, but what a troublesome combination.'

The last set of pairs fight and other than seeing people's fighting styles, nothing interesting happens.

All Might blows his whistle twice, and we all turn to look at him, "Good work everyone! Other than Young Midoriya, we didn't have any major injuries either. You guys all did very well for your first training!"

Asui raises her hand, "To have such a proper class after Aizawa sensei's class is…"

She scratches her head as she thinks of the right words, "somewhat anticlimactic," the rest of the class nods in agreement.

He counters by raising both his hands and smiling, "Of course. We are free to have proper classes as well you know. Well then, I must review the results with Young Midoriya. Change and return…"

He takes off like a bullet, yelling the last part at us, "to the classroom!"

'He seems to be in a rush. I wonder why?'

We all head back to the classroom and take our seats. We wait for a few minutes and All Might doesn't return.

Hagakure scratches what I assume is her face, "Uhmm, what is the next class after Hero Studies?"

Iida shouts out, "Hero Studies takes up two blocks. Thus, there is nothing after."

There is a moment of silence and I pull out a deck of cards, "Anyone down to play poker?"

Iida voices his complaints, "Hey, that is not school appropriate, gambling is again-"

But I cut him off, "Aw, don't worry too much about it, Iida. C'mon, join us! Bakugo, wanna play?"

"Piss off, old man!"

'Old man? Too bad, I wanted to ask him about Izuku.'

In the end, Kirishima, Mina, Sero, Iida, and Kaminari played with Momo and me. We used small chips that I had made out of Bungee Gum and just played for fun. Surprisingly, Kaminari was pretty good and had a decent poker face. As for the rest of them… it was hard not to laugh at how bad they were.

About half an hour later, Aizawa returned and told us that Hero Studies was over and that we could do whatever we wanted until school was over.

I deal another round of cards out and people add their buy-ins, "Iida, you seem pretty close to Izuku."

As the first round of betting begins, Iida looks up at me, "I met him at the Entrance Exam. I bet 5," he puts down a pink chip with the roman numeral for 5 jutting out of the top.

Kaminari looks at his cards with a blank expression, "I call," and adds another chip to the pile.

"Oh yeah, what did you guys do at the Entrance Exam?"

Mina is grinning as she calls, "It was pretty fun, we got to fight robots!"

Iida continues while the betting continues, "Hmm, there was a secret point system that was based on helping people. As someone that aspires to be a hero, I should've noticed it sooner."

I put down my bet, and reveal the first 3 community cards, a Two of Hearts, a Jack of Diamonds, and a Queen of Diamonds, "Sound fun. I'm curious, how did Izuku do?"

Iida frowns as he looks at his cards, "I call. Same as you saw. He sacrificed his limbs in exchange for extreme strength."

Kaminari raises, and I look at Iida, "Limbs? Not just arms?"

Everyone calls and Iida replies, "He used his legs to leap several stories in the air. I assume they were broken cause he lay on the ground for a while before Recovery Girl healed him."

I look over and Bakugo seems particularly interested in our conversation.

I flip over the fourth card, a Jack of Spades. Sero and Kirishima both sigh and fold, 'Hmm if he keeps on breaking his bones like that. At this rate…'

Mina's grin is even bigger as I flip the fifth card, a Nine of Diamonds. She raises 25 and Iida folds, but Kaminari, and Momo call, and I raise her an extra 10.

Momo glares at me but adds her ten in. Kaminari keeps his blank expression and throws ten in. Mina looks at me strangely but adds her chips into the pile.

The bell rings, and immediately Bakugo heads out.

Mina shows off her cards, a Two of Diamonds, and Six of Diamonds, "HAHA, Flush!"

Kaminari grins and throws down his two cards, a Queen of both Clubs and Spades, "Not so fast, Mina. Full House."

I smirk, as I throw down my cards, a Jack of Clubs and a Jack of hearts, "Four of a kind. I'll be taking my money now."

I reach over to grab the pile, but Momo clears her throat, "Ahem!"

She drops down a Ten and Eight of Diamonds, "Straight flush."

"Tch."

Kaminari cries out, "Arghh, I can't believe that both of you beat my Full House."

Momo grabs her chips and Izuku walks back in with a cast on one arm and bandages covering the other.

A few people go to the door and introduce themselves, saying that the way that he fought against Bakugo was really cool. Uraraka and Sato carry books, and Uraraka runs over, asking if he's okay.

He scratches his face, "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. More importantly, where is Kacchan?"

'Why does he care?'

Uraraka explains how he had left immediately after the bell rang and he took off like a bullet running towards the entrance.

I pass the deck to Momo, "I am going to use the restroom, can you cover me for dealer Momo?"

She looks at me suspiciously but agrees anyway.

I exit the class and I can hear Izuku's footsteps through the hallways, 'What's the rush?'

I start jogging lightly and stay far enough where Izuku doesn't notice me, but close enough where I can keep him with eyesight. He keeps on running until he reaches the front of the building and pauses briefly to catch his breath.

"Kacchan!"

I lean against a pillar and decide to listen in to their conversation.

He runs forwards and calls out his nickname again, "Kacchan!"

He turns and glares at him, "What!"

Izuku looks at the ground, "There's one thing that I feel like I have to tell you… My quirk… is something I received from someone else."

'A lie? Bakugo hates Izuku, but Izuku doesn't seem like the person to lie.'

Bakugo turns slightly, "Huh?"

"I can't say who I got it from, though! I won't say… It's like a story out of a comic… but it's true. On top of it, I still can't control it properly. It's just a borrowed power that I haven't made my own yet. That's why… I tried to beat you without using it. But in the end, I couldn't win and had to rely on it."

Bakugo slowly gets pissed off as he listens to Izuku.

"I've still got a long way to go. That's why… that's why- One day, I will make this quirk my own and beat you with my own power."

'Is he serious about this!?'

Bakugo growls in response, "What the hell is that?!

Izuku looks up at Bakugo, "Huh?"

"Borrowed Power? You're talking nonsense. What are you trying to do, make me out to be more of a fool than you already have? Huh?!"

Bakugo yells out, "What are you trying to say?! Today I lost to you… That's all…"

His shoulders tremble as he's on the verge of tears, "As I was watching that Ice Guy. I thought to myself, I can't beat him!"

He grabs his face as he remembers me saying how foolish and reckless of him to release large scale attacks indoors, "DAMN IT!!! I ended up agreeing with what that old man said!!

'What old man?'

He looks up at Izuku, traces of tears visible on the side of his eyes."Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Oy! You too Deku! I am just getting started! Hear that! I will become Number 1!"

He turns and starts walking away, but then a sudden gust of wind flies past me, and seconds later, All Might has his hands on Bakugo's shoulder.

I push myself off of the pillar smirking to myself, 'How interesting. If he's telling the truth, then… A transferable quirk? Or maybe a quirk that allows the user to steal and deposit quirks. Overpowered and unheard of, but… not impossible. Either way, this is… interesting.'

AN: Anyone have any good FF suggestions? I've read a lot, and am looking for new ones.
