"Welcome to hell, Princess!" He states while opening the door of the cell.
I shall be terrified, honestly, but I wasn't. Not that I trust him or anything like that, I just think it something relates to - as they call it here 'the mate bond'.
For a while, I forgot that I was locked in a cell while surrounded by dirt. Not to mention, some wolves who are being torched by their kind, and others were are already dead, but not seem to be going to get buried any soon. No wonder that the smell here is killer.
I stand still while trying to show that I'm strong, though that deep inside I wished if I was strong for real. The more he got close to me, the more I felt insecure. Everything about him makes me feel weak. His handsome face, his eyes, body, scent. It was as if he was designed only to compel me.
He steps a step toward me, and I step another one back before he states again.
"You stepped back, already afraid?"
"Not even a bit." I lied," I'm just disgusted."
"Disgusted?" He repeated after me." Of course, you will be. You're a vampire, like them. You always think that you are at the head of the life circle. You think you are the ruler of this world. You to arrogant to even call human pets or maids, werewolves by dogs, and witches by servants. Isn't it?"
I didn't answer him. Instead, I've asked him another question. A question that seemed to play on his nerves.
"Where's Aeron? What have you done to him?"
He stepped again toward me, and unconsciously I found myself hitting the wall with my back.
"Here, you're not a Princesse, you are nothing more than a prisoner – Just like any other rogue here. So, if you don't want to end up having the same happy ending, they already had, you better act low. Meaning you don't get to ask questions here, I do. And when I ask a question, you better answer. "
I rolled my eyes, showing that I didn't like the way he spoke to me. I didn't know from where I got the courage to do such a move, but I did it anyway. I wasn't going to let him treat me just as he wants. I'm royalty, and I deserve to be respected.
"If you had an issue dealing with that our kind is better than yours, then I can do nothing for you. As for being a prisoner, that doesn't change the fact that I'm royalty, and royalty doesn't bow to anyone. Especially, when it comes to pets, dogs, and servants."
"How dare you?" He shouts while punching the wall behind me, causing me to feel real horror. "Who the hell you think you are? You're nothing more than a bloodsucker…"
"At least, I'm not one of those dogs." I cut him off again. Again, he punches the wall in the same spot near to my head but didn't dare to touch me. Which led me to conclude.
'' You can't hurt me, even if you want to. Is it because of that thing – the mate bond? Since I'm your mate, you're unable to hurt me."
"Shush!" He shut me up, not wanting anyone to know about us." You're not my mate, and you will never be. I deserve better than to end up with someone like you."
Each and every one of his words broke the hell of me, tore my heart into pieces, but I wasn't going to show weakness. You see, I never was into a battle. I've never learned to fight for myself. I never even drink a drop of human blood, which explains my physical weakness. Still, my soul was never weak as my body. It is quite the opposite. Since I was young, I've learned how to endure the pain with a steady appearance. The fake smile I wore most of my time becomes my only true friend, and the exact friend I'm needing right now.
So, with a smile on my face, I looked at my imprint aka mate, then I declare.
"Not that I'm dying to be matched with you. I was better off without you. Aeron and I have planned for a splendid life, and you are not welcome to be part of our plans. Until my father and our soldiers came to rescue me, I've had to endure your annoying presence around me…"
I was cut off by him punching again the same spot of the wall, near to my head for more than once. For a while, I was about to believe that I've seen him being hurt, but I think it was just me imagining the whole thing. Perhaps it's because I wanted him to feel hurt as I am. The thing was that he was mad as a monster, and the one suffering from his rage was the wall. I couldn't miss the chance of teasing him, not that I want to miss it.
"Keep creating troubles with that poor wall, and I guess I won't have to wait for anyone else to rescue me. After all, it's all you can do."
It turns out that teasing him was never a good idea. I only concluded that when it was too late. His eyes were totally dark, as he was breathing in a heavy way. His appearance was quiet enough for me to understand that I was already in too much trouble.
"Only physically…" This was all that he said, causing me to look dumbfounded. He then repeated, while explaining himself.
"I can't harm you, only physically. Still, I can do worse."
Of course, his threads were real. I mean, he hates me and blames me and my people for his father's death. But I have nothing to do with it, and I care less about explaining myself to someone who's hatefully judging me without hearing my part from the story.
The thing was that I never expected his words to come true that fast.
Well, a redhead female that seems to be a werewolf too got in my view as she was moving toward us. She was good-looking, but still, I believe that she's not even close to my appearance.
"Tristan!" she called after my imprint, and he right away let go of me.
"What are you doing here?"
"Interrogating her." He simply lied at her, which was the least I care about right now.
What annoys me was the way how she was looking at him, it seems as if she was trying to eat him alive. I don't like her, not just that – but I seem to hate her.
Lost in my thoughts I was when her annoying voice broke my almost peaceful moment.
"Is she the vampire princess? She doesn't look like one?"
Unconsciously, I found myself snapping at her.
"If you tried for a while to use your brain – Of course, that would be possible only if you had one, I wouldn't for sure look like a prince since I was hunted, kidnapped, and greeted by the werewolves wonderful hospitality."
She didn't seem like answering after what which I was thankful for, I don't think I would be able to endure her annoying voice of she spoke again.
Instead of her, my imprint, which I guess his name is Tristan, was the one not only to speak but also to act up.
"Leave you from her!" He said with a sweet tone that I doubt he would ever use if he was talking to me." She's not worthy."
Just as he was done speaking, he crushed his lips on her in what seemed to be full of lust and passion kiss while not minding me watching the entire scene.
I didn't know for what reason, but my eyes shifted color and my fangs grow longer while I was watching the kiss. All I was thinking about right now was that this she-wolf needs to die since she's enjoying what's mine.
Without thinking twice, I launched myself on her while intending to teach her how to stay away from what doesn't belong to her. Unexpectedly, Tristan made a quick move that saved her life. Yet, broke my back.
With his mighty body, I was pushed toward the wall in a way that broke literary my back.
"You stay away from her!" He shouted at me while being overprotective toward the girl. Something inside of me feels as if he wasn't totally angry with what happened. Instead, he seemed to enjoy the little show I've just made a while ago.
On the other hand, I was lost thinking about which one hurts the most? My heart or my broken back.
For sure, though, I'm not that strong type of vampire. I know for sure that my back would heal soon, but I can't say the same about my broken heart.
"Let's get out of here!" announces the girl as she was looking kind of terrified from me.
With a smirk on his face, Tristan decided to add one more word before he leaves.
" Enjoy the hell, princess."
