Chapter 304. Anticlimactic (Part 1)

Reed let out a long sigh of relief as he looked at the data on his computer.

Recently, with all the inconveniences caused by their mutations, his mood had been getting worse and worse. Reed frowned and called out, but he didn't hear a response from Johnny. His expression immediately became tense.

"Ben, have you seen Johnny?"

"You know, Reed, I'd love for that guy to disappear."

Reed's expression became ugly as he heard Ben's response. He had searched every room in the laboratory, but he couldn't find any trace of Johnny.

"What's wrong, Reed?"

Attracted by the noise in the laboratory, Sue walked in while wiping her hair.

After spending so much time in the laboratory, the four of them had basically made it their home.

"Johnny, he's gone."

Reed sighed as he met Sue's gaze.

"What?!"

Sue was taken aback by Reed's response but quickly realized the severity of the situation. She knew her younger brother better than anyone else -- headstrong and reckless, he was a headache to deal with. "We have to find him. Otherwise, with Johnny's current condition, we don't know what might happen."

Johnny's ability to generate flames that reached temperatures comparable to that of the sun meant that if he was allowed to roam free, it wouldn't only be extremely dangerous for his own life but also for the entire human race.

"I know."

Reed, as the record keeper of Johnny's data, was well aware of the crisis at hand.

"But we have no idea where Johnny could have gone."

"In any case, we need to go find him. Every minute he spends outside poses an additional danger for us." Sue said, frowning with a headache.

"If you're looking for that brat..."

While Reed and Sue were getting headaches because Johnny didn't even leave a note, Ben suddenly spoke up after being silent all along, pointing to The TV, "I think the news has already made it clear."

Following Ben's words, Reed immediately saw Johnny's figure on the TV screen.

A violent shockwave formed from the blaster in the palm of Tony's hand, causing Tony, inside his Iron Man suit, to furrow his brows as he faced the agile evil Spider-Man.

"Sir, based on the results, it seems that the opponent is always one step ahead of you."

Jarvis analyzed, issuing a reminder.

"A step ahead?"

Suspended in mid-air, Tony listened to Jarvis's report. His previously furrowed brows tightened even more. Spider-Man's situation was a bit more troublesome than he had anticipated.

"So, Tony, is that all you've got?"

With the spider senses constantly helping him to dodge Tony's attacks, evil Spider-Man clung to the edge of the wall, looking at the figure not far away and letting out a sneer, "Sure enough, besides the Iron Man suit, you've got nothing over me."

"Don't make me remind you again, call me Mr. Stark."

Correcting Spider-Man's impolite address, Tony also responded unyieldingly, "Actually, even without my Iron Man suit, I'm still a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and a popular public figure in New York City. And you, without the mask, you're just a clueless kid..."

Comparing their sharp tongue, Tony would never lose to anyone.

Sure enough, after listening to Tony's string of ridicule, the face under Spider-Man's mask suddenly twisted.

"Well Tony, I'm going to strip you naked like Jameson and hang you in Times Square. Let's see if you'll be as eloquent."

Spider-Man's hate-filled words made Tony pause for a moment. Not because he was afraid but because the Spider-Man in front of him was too different from the young spider he had encountered in the past. If Jarvis hadn't confirmed through a scan that the two were the same person, Tony would have thought he had encountered an impostor.

"Kid, what happened to you?"

Tony made a final effort after a moment of silence.

"Nothing, I've never been better."

Spider-Man responded. His web shooter fired and stuck to the building opposite as he swung and replied with malice, "It's not going to be as good for you, billionaire playboy."

"That's Mr. Billionaire to you," Tony replied, raising his hand and blasting the web strand that Spider-Man had caught onto. Tony looked at Spider-Man, who remained unchanged, he was finally determined to give it his all.

"It should be here."

Johnny said, driving his eye-catching red sports car to the bottom of the building and looking up at Spider-Man and Iron Man battling in mid-air. He raised his eyebrows and muttered to himself.

"It's time for the Human Torch to shine."

Taking a deep breath, Johnny withdrew his gaze from the two figures battling in mid-air. He nervously tensed up his body, muttering to himself.

With a few deep breaths, Johnny began to control the temperature in his body to rise. In the blink of an eye, the scorching flames enveloped his body. Under the high-temperature flames, Johnny's clothes instantly turned to ashes, revealing the special uniform he was wearing.

"Cool~"

Looking down at his red arms, although it was wrapped in blazing flames, Johnny didn't feel any burns.

Controlling the flames on his body as a propelling force, Johnny looked up at the figures fighting in mid-air and instantly transformed into a huge comet-like being soaring into the sky.
