Chapter 210. Tønsberg (Part1)

Looking at all the people in the pub, the man, Ryan, wasn't affected by the atmosphere in front of him.

Turning his eyes, he went straight to the bar and asked the bartender, "Do you know how to get toTønsberg?"

"Tønsberg?"

Silently wiping his glass and in response to Ryan's question, the bartender glanced up at him. However, he immediately withdrew his gaze and continued to focus on the glass in his hand. He perfunctorily replied, "I don't know, I've never heard of it."

Hearing the bartender's answer, Ryan silently raised an eyebrow. He took out a rattling money pouch from his pocket, poured out a few kroner from it and placed it on the bar. He pushed it in front of the bartender and then asked, "How about now?"

Ryan didn't have any say in his appearance in Norway, so naturally, it was impossible for him to prepare any money.

In fact, the reason why Ryan had this bag of Norwegian kroner was because of the 'enthusiastic help' from some people.

Setting down the glass he was cleaning; the bartender reached out and silently collected the kroner in front of him. Then he lowered his voice and said, "The place you're looking for is at the top of Tønsberg Bay." Saying so, the bartender placed the kroner into his own pocket. He glanced at Ryan and hesitantly said, "Also, try not to leave on your own ..."

"Tønsberg, I know where that hellhole is..."

Bang --

Before the bartender could finish his sentence, a Nordic man with a big beard inserted himself into the conversation.

He slammed down the bottle in his hand on the bar, causing a loud ruckus. With a vicious warning glare at the bartender, the guy turned his head towards Ryan, nonchalantly saying, "I'll take you there for 200... no 300 kroner."

As he spoke, the man greedily gazed at Ryan's pocket.

Just now, he was sitting next to them. He clearly saw that Ryan had placed the money pouch into his pocket.

"Can you really take me to Tønsberg?"

Faced with the bearded man's obviously ill-intentioned look, Ryan asked as if he didn't notice it at all.

"Of course." Hearing that, the bearded man nodded his head with no hesitation and grinned.

Across the bar, the bartender kept making eye signals towards Ryan, warning him about the bearded man.

However, Ryan ignored it. He looked like he really believed the bearded man's lies.

"In that case, I'm in a hurry, let's go right now."

With that, Ryan stood up and stepped outside.

"No problem..."

Smoothly picking up his own bottle, the bearded man grinned. He followed behind with a spring in his step.

"If I had known, I would have gone up first!"

When the bearded figure disappeared from the bar, remorseful voices erupted at the bar.

"Damn it, I saw the money first! "

"Did you hear the sound coming from that money pouch? He should have several hundred in it!"

"More than that, I think it may be more."

Judging from the discussion in the pub, they weren't a group of good people. As a matter of fact, as a country that was started by Viking seafarers, even though it had been established independence, they still had the blood of the Vikings in their bones. Especially with the advance of the war front, the country might perish at any time, and the law was no longer a potent restraint.

After 10 minutes, some people in the bar gradually felt something was wrong.

"Why isn't Aage back yet?"

"He's not really going to Tønsberg with the guy from before, right?"

"Impossible! What sort of goodwill does that bastard Aage have? I think he took the money and sneaked off to hide."

"Yeah, that guy is a true bastard... He even sold his dead mother's heirloom for money. I also saw that he had stolen some things from the church just to sell them for some alcohol. How can he suddenly be a good guide? Besides, does that guy even know where Tønsberg is?"

Within the bar, the sound of ridiculing and rowdiness kept ringing out.

However, no one in the crowd expected this was the last time the man named Auger would appear in front of them.

  ...

The town ofTønsberg, located at the crest of Tønsberg Bay, was one of the oldest towns in Norway. Its rise was related to the developing whaling industry in the 19th century. However, with the end of the whaling industry, the town fell into depression. A large number of shipyards closed down, fishermen lost their jobs, and the population of the cities and towns had dropped from tens of thousands in its heyday to only a few thousand now.

"Master, here we are..."

Under the shroud of darkness, a black car quietly arrived in the middle of the slightly deserted town.

In the driver's seat, a man with a large beard turned his head and respectfully spoke to the figure in the back seat.

Nodding his head, Ryan turned his head and looked at the town through the window.

At dusk, there were very few people in Tønsberg. The faint street lights around the main road accentuate the chilly appearance of the town.

Of course, the reason Ryan came here wasn't to sightsee.

In fact, there had been legends about Odin and the Cube circulating in Tønsberg since ancient times, which was the purpose of his hard work.

"Master, the church is ahead. Do you need me to ..."

Stopping the car, Aage looked at Ryan, who was deep in thought. He then opened his mouth to reveal two sharp, pointed teeth and spoke in a flattering manner.

"Not just yet."

Shaking his head, Ryan looked at Aage and replied nonchalantly.

When faced with Ryan's decline, Aage's expression wasn't the slightest bit resentful. He still replied respectfully, his appearance completely different from the previous time in the pub.

[Vampire Creator]

This was one of the vampire abilities from the [Dio Brando] card, which transformed a target into a vampire like himself using his ability.

The person he transformed into a vampire would have the same immortality as he did and would be able to take another person's life force by sucking blood as well. However, there was a degree of difference with Dio both in terms of strength and regeneration. Simply put, the vampires Dio created were all inferior vampires and all under his control.

However, even the inferior vampires were powerful when compared to humans, especially their ability to stop ageing and immortality, an ability that everyone wanted.

Stepping down from the car while Aage opened the door, Ryan gazed up at the church in front of him.

If what he deduced was correct, the Tesseract should be hidden in the middle of this church.

However, the purpose of Ryan's trip was not to take Tesseract.

Turning his head, he cast a glance at Aage, who immediately understood and walked towards the church door.
