Arriving at my part-time job, I see Dr.Conners talking to someone so I decide to go to my lab station, but he calls out to me.
"Peter, perfect timing, come over." He said while using his singular hand to wave me over, and I walked over, and the man he was talking to walked away.
"We have a new intern coming in." He promptly explained.
"Really? And where are they?" I asked.
"Turn around." He said curtly, so I did, and my eyes landed on a familiar, blue eyed blonde.
"You sure you're not following me? I feel like you're following me." I said with a slight smile.
"I promise I'm not." She responded with her own smile.
"Really? Cause first it was Bio, then Chem, now at my part-time job. Are you a yandere?"
"What's that?" She asked confused, causing me to sigh at the sad knowledge of knowing that she is uncultured.
"Alright you two love birds, you can keep flirting on the tour Peter here, will be giving you of the facilities here, and what you'll be doing under me here." Conners said before walking away.
"Alright then, I'm assuming you know what we're doing here?" I asked.
"Somewhat, something to do with cross species genetics?"
"Yes. This all started with Conners, after he lost his arm, he started looking for a cure, which he found in Lizard DNA. Though not perfected yet, we're close to getting past animal trials, though that's our main focus, I also try to find a cure through other animals, like starfish for example." I explained our goal here.
"And like Zebra Fish?"
"Yes, exactly that, though it seems like our Lizard serum is gonna work out, it's always good to have a back-up, yeah?"
"Wow. The things you're doing here is, it's-"
"World changing? We know, though Stark may have gone about the weapons route and found instant results, we've sat through the long haul to truly change the world."
"And why does it sound like you've been here for awhile?"
"Cause I have, during the summer leading to my freshman year, some things happened, leading to me being noticed, my intelligence being recognized despite my young age. Then I was offered an internship, like you, which turned into a part-time job after school, and here I am. But this isn't about me, I'm supposed to be giving you a tour, so did something catch your eye?" And taking the cue to change the topic, she pointed past me at something.
"That, Ganali? device." She said as I turned around to see what she was talking about.
"Ah, yes. The Ganali dispersement device." I said as we walked over.
"It was a device created to do exactly as it sounds, except that it's never actually been used because it's too effective. It could blanket an entire city and cure it from a pandemic for example, but if someone wanted to op out last second it'd be too late."
"But couldn't it also be used as a weapon?" Gwen pointed out.
"Yes, that's why it's locked away in bullet proof glass in one of the safest buildings in New York City." I explained with a smile.
"Anyways, let's keep going." And keep going we did, until it got to late, around the time that most employees leave, and after I walked her out, I went to a certain separated stair well, swiped my keycard and put in a code to get access, and it opened. Going down the stairs, after a few flights I arrive at the underground lab, and see a bunch of scientists, but specifically one Norman Osborn so I walk over.
"Mr.Osborn." I call out while walking up to him, causing him to turn to me.
"Peter! Good to see you as always, how are you and Harry?" He asked with a smile on his face while putting his hand out.
"You know us, good as always. His grades are still up to." I pointed out while shaking his hand.
"That's good to hear, thank you as always Peter for helping him out."
"Please, it's a small repayment for everything you've done for me."
"Yes well, our serum has been coming along greatly, we've only been seeing minor increases of anger and no loss of sanity compared to before, and it's all thanks to you. If you didn't spot that minor flaw in our formula before, we would've been going back to completely rewriting it by now." He said with a wide smile, I know he had a lot riding on this after all.
"No problem sir, just doing my job." I said, reciprocating his own smile with a more minor one.
"Yes well, since we've been doing so well. I've decided to give everybody here, the week off! After all our deadline is by the end of next year, and we can already take this to the military!" Norman explained, prompting everybody to cheer at our success, after all this is very well the life work of some people here, so to see it come too fruition is at the very least pleasing.
"That's actually great Mr.Osborn, after all my little brothers game is next Friday." I say with a smile wider than before.
"Oh trust me, I know. Now everyone go on home and get some well deserved rest!" He proclaimed to which everyone started cleaning up and shuffling out.
"Well Mr.Osborn, hows the glider coming alo-"
"Great! Like everything recently! Don't worry about it Peter, just head on home!" He said, and I just decided to listen to him and head out. I noticed that he was the only one that was seemingly staying behind, but he owns the place, so I guess it makes sense.
What happened between the years will be explained, but some things will be glossed over, and others will be explained more in depth, maybe. But as you've seen, and will continue to see, this isn't exactly sticking to one certain universe from the comics, which it isn't. It's one random universe in the multiverse that is Marvel, and it will give me a lot of writing liberties which I will try to use to it's max. So this story will be a long ride, and speaking of mutliverse, shenanigans involving it will happen, but it'll take a while to actually get there, after all the multiverse is lack for a better term, huge. So that'll already take up a good part of this story, so yet again that is in the probable far future. But point out any mistakes, and tell me how I can improve, other than that I'll see you in the next chapter.
