Ch. 37 - The Great Pretender is the rival of Tai Lung!

'What Gacha function?' Leo evilly grinned as he rubbed his hands against each other.

[Now that you have reached 100 Gacha tickets, the Fusing Function is unlocked!]

Just before Leo could ask for an explanation, Genesis continued.

[The Fusing Function is a function that will allow you to use the system to fuse 100 Gacha tickets and turn it into a Golden Tickets.]

[Golden Tickets are much rarer than normal Gacha Tickets as Golden Tickets have a guaranteed draw of a Legendary draw!]

Hearing Genesis's explanation, Leo's eyeballs almost burst out of his eye sockets.

'A-A Guaranteed Legendary draw!?' Leo exclaimed in surprise.

[Do you want to fuse your 100 normal Gacha Tickets now?]

'Heck yes!' Leo immediately agreed without hesitation. Who wouldn't? Especially in his situation as he's now going to face the first movie's villain, Tai Lung.

With this opportunity in hand, there's no way Leo wouldn't take it.

[Converting 100 Normal Gacha Tickets to a single Golden Ticket...]

After a few seconds of waiting, Genesis finally confirmed the conversion.

[Congratulations! You have acquired a single Golden Ticket! Do you want to draw now?]

'Wait. I want to draw it at the same time as I open the Dragon Scroll.' With that being said, Leo snapped back to reality and noticed that the Dragon Scroll has already left its nest and now it is resting on Master Shifu's hand.

"Both of you, open the Dragon Scroll at the same time." Master Shifu approached both Leo and Po who were still staring at the Dragon Scroll in amazement.

*Snap*

"Wake up." Seeing this, Master Shifu monotonously snapped his finger, waking them up from their stupor.

"Take it and open it at the same time." Master Shifu repeated what he just said earlier.

Po and Leo then surprisingly grabbed each end of the Dragon Scroll.

"Let's open it at the same time?" Po asked Leo, who only nodded his head, his eyes bearing seriousness in them.

While opening the Dragon Scroll, Master Shifu and the Furious Five all looked away from them, not wanting to break the 'ritual' and accidentally caused the Dragon Scroll to fail in giving the 'limitless' power.

"Hah~ Hahh!!" Unlike Leo who was just staring at the Dragon Scroll with a dull expression, Po was exaggerating by screaming loudly as if he was in some kind of pain.

While Master Shifu and the Furious Five were worried about Po, Leo was staring at the screen in front of him.

At the same time as he opened the scroll earlier, he also used the Golden Ticket to make a draw.

And now, what he got is unexpected.

[Congratulation! You have acquired a Template!]

[Daredevil (TV Series) Template!]

'Daredevil template? Isn't he that blind lawyer that fights as a hero at night?' While saying this in his mind, Leo suddenly had a bad premonition in his heart.

'Fuck! Am I going blind if I unlock his template?' As Leo was starting to get afraid of using Daredevil's template, Genesis thankfully answered, calming him down.

[You won't receive any negative effects from the Template you'll be getting, please keep this in mind now, Leo.]

'Oh thank you, Genesis! What am I gonna do without you?' Leo wiped the accumulated beads of sweat on his forehead while sighing in relief.

'Anyways, can I use it now?' Asked Leo.

[You have no available slots for the template, Leo. So no, you can't use it unless you buy the 2nd template slot.]

'Oh right, how much is it?'

[For a single slot, 50,000 reputation points and it will double for every time you buy.]

'The fuck? Isn't that just money grab?' Leo grumbled as he complained.

[No it's not, if you think about it.]

'Tsk, I guess I'll have to earn some reputation first.' Leo clicked his tongue and silently said in his mind, fortunately for him, Genesis heard his words and gave a suggestion.

[Perhaps defeating Tai Lung would help you earn Reputation Points. By defeating him, your name will be known throughout the entire china, especially to the Kung Fu masters.]

'You're....right!' Leo's eyes gleamed in excitement. In his mind, Tai Lung is no longer a threat, but instead a walking treasure of his.

'Tai Lung! Wait for me!'

Running across another rope bridge, Tai Lung suddenly shivered slightly.

'Did my body just....shivered? Is this excitement for the legendary battle between me and the Dragon Warriors?' Misunderstanding the meaning of his sudden shivering, Tai Lung grinned and became more excited as his pace became even more faster and ferocious.

"It's blank? How could this be?" Master Shifu exclaimed in surprise after Po reacted after opening the Dragon Scroll only for it to be blank.

"Oh I see what's going on here. It turns out, Master Oogway is just an old senile turtle after all." Po, who just got his hopes broken, would obviously be angry and it is inevitable for him to insult Master Oogway.

"No.....There is more meaning to this." Master Shifu muttered to himself, refusing to back down that Master Oogway was bluffing about the Dragon Warrior all along.

There's no way he'd do that, right?

Master Oogway is not a senile old turtle that Po is describing about him.

".....Evacuate the Valley, you too Po. Evacuate the Valley." Clenching the Dragon Scroll slightly, Master Shifu could only focus on the current matters at hand, before throwing the Dragon Scroll to Po.

"Le-." Just as Master Shifu turned his eyes on Leo and wanted to tell him to also evacuate with the Valley, he was quickly cut off by him.

"No. I won't evacuate with the Valley. It is my duty to put a stop on Tai Lung. As a Dragon Warrior, this is my destiny. So please don't stop me." Leo turned around and faced Master Shifu, clearly letting him see the pure determination in his eyes.

Seeing that he won't be able to persuade Leo, Master Shifu could only sigh.

"Fine. You'll stay and fulfill your destiny." Master Shifu gave in.

Meanwhile, Po simply watched this with slight grim on his face, he also wanted to be as brave as Leo and defeat Tai Lung but his instinct to survive is telling him to not risk it and simply evacuate with his dad.

Finally, after a few seconds of contemplating, Po chose the latter and left with the Furious Five, much to the disappointing gaze of Master Shifu to his departing back.

Meanwhile, only Leo was looking at Po with indifferent eyes. He knows that once Po reunites with Mr. Ping, the panda would come to a realization about the true meaning of the Dragon Scroll being blank.

Standing in front of the doors of Jade Palace, Master Shifu and Leo were standing side by side while looking at the sky that was turning dark, rain started to drop as time went on.

"Are you sure about this, Leo? Tai Lung is no easy opponent especially since you're just starting out in the road of Kung Fu." Master Shifu expressed his worries even though he already agreed to Leo joining in.

"Everything will be okay, Master." Leo assured him, though he was also nervous but that's understandable considering this might be his first life-and-death fight.

Although the movie shows no killing or anything too violent, Leo would be an idiot if he relies too much on what he knows about the movie, not everything in the movie portrays the true nature of this world.

"He's here." With his eyes closed, Master Shifu already detected Tai Lung's trail and as he expected, as soon as the thunder clapped, Tai Lung quickly appeared in front of both Master Shifu and Leo.

"I'm home, Master." Tai Lung coldly said while staring at Master Shifu's eyes, his unbridled anger can be seen through.

"This is no longer home and I am no longer your master, Tai Lung!" Master Shifu retorted.

"So this is the Dragon Warrior. Or one of the Dragon Warriors." Tai Lung then stared at Leo's eyes.

"Hand over the Dragon Scroll, and I might spare you." Tai Lung arrogantly said, which irks both Leo and Master Shifu.

"Take it from my dead body." Leo answered with a kick towards Tai Lung's chest.

Reacting very fast, Tai Lung blocked Leo's kick before returning one of his own.

*Dang!*

Unfortunately for Tai Lung, Leo wasn't the only one he was fighting as Master Shifu also joined in the fight and blocked Tai Lung's kick.

"How shameless of you, Shifu. Not only are you fighting your former student but you also have your new student to fight with? How despicable!" Tai Lung sneered as his claws struck on Master Shifu's figure that is stationary in mid-air.

*Slash!*

Much to Tai Lung's surprise, a slash appeared on his chest courtesy of Leo's Black Panther fighting style.

"You fight very familiar." Tai Lung muttered to himself while touching the bloody gash on his chest before sipping on his finger, drinking his fresh blood.

"I can't remember the last time I fought someone with the same style but perhaps entertaining me for a few minutes might shake my memories." Tai Lung then growled like a wild beast he is before he sprung from the ground.

*Swoosh!*

Leo's eyes widened in surprise when Tai Lung was already in front of him with his claws reciprocating what he did to him earlier.

*Slash!*

'Fuck!' Leo cursed in his mind as he endured the pain and blocked another claw slash from Tai Lung.

"You're slow! Too slow!" Tai Lung insulted him before smashing both of his fists on Leo's bloody chest.

*Splash!*

"Gagh!"
