And finally, the long-anticipated day had arrived.
Which, to be honest, it wasn't that long as I waited only for half a day.
But you know, when you're excited about something even a day can seem like a week.
I had already prepared everything I needed to take with me yesterday before I went to sleep.
But just in case I did a quick checkup again.
Once I was sure everything was fine, I wore my hat along with my sunglasses and departed from the house heading quickly to the bus station.
Thankfully we all lived somewhat close to each other so it was easy to set up our meeting point.
The bus for the beach was leaving at 10:30 a.m., so we decided to meet at the bus station half an hour earlier.
I was sure that I would be the first one to arrive because I had left a bit early from my house, but that wasn't the case.
When I arrived I saw that everyone, except Gyu, Ken, and Kurokawa-san, was there. I guess the two of them wanted to come together here.
And I was right, because after five minutes the two of them came together, laughing at what each other was saying.
For a brief second, I depicted Sato-san and me being like Ken and Kurokawa-san, but I quickly removed that thought from my mind as soon as I saw Sato-san laughing at something Satoru-san said to her.
"Sorry to interrupt your lovely moment, but I'll have to ask Ken something if that's alright with you," I said to Kurokawa-san as soon as I got near them.
"Aah, s-sure, no problem." She replied, and thus I pulled Ken closer to me.
But before I could say anything he started bubbling about how cute, daring, and beautiful Kurokawa-san was.
"Alright, I heard enough, do you know where Gyu is? Cause he's not here." I asked as soon as he had finished bragging about his girlfriend.
"Ah right, I forgot to tell you. He said he'll meet us there because he'll come in his car."
"Wait, he got a car?"
"Yep, his parents bought it for him as a birthday gift. And it's a sports one."
"Aah, I guess it's good to be rich." I sighed.
"Come on, don't be like that. Look at the bright side, at least you have a girlfriend and he doesn't." He said, trying to cheer me up.
"Yeah, yeah, anyways, go back to your girlfriend," I said trying to push him away from me.
Before I knew it the time had already come and we were ready to board the bus.
Before we got in I went to Sato-san to greet her and let her know that Gyu would come be himself.
The bus was particularly empty. It seemed like we had rented it all for ourselves
But I ended up sitting by myself because everyone had someone else to sit with.
Ken of course sat with Kurokawa, and Sato-san sat with Satoru, so I couldn't ask her to sit with me.
Well, I had all the time till we arrived to think about what I should do about that relationship between me and Sato-san.
To be honest, I want to get out of this relationship, but if I do firstly all the boys and most of the girls in our school will want to bury me alive for breaking up with Sato-san, who's an idol of them. Or the boys will just find their chance to pursue her again.
And secondly, I suppose Sato-san will be disappointed in me and she'll never trust me again.
Ooh, how did I find myself in that?
Even if I continue being in a relationship with her all the other girls will stay away from me and I'll lose my chance to find a real girlfriend.
It's a dead end.
Wherever I do it's guaranteed that I'll lose something.
At some point, while I was lost in my thoughts Ken sat next to me and slightly hit me in the back.
"Yo Haru, are you thinking about how your girlfriend will look in a swimsuit?"
"Huh? What are you talking about? It never crossed my mind to do something like that."
And what I said was true. I was so into my thoughts that I never thought about how Sato-san will look in her swimsuit.
"Oh come on. We're both guys, you can tell me freely any fantasies you might have about Sato-san." He continued while leaning closer to me.
"I'm not a pervert like you who fantasizes about his girlfriend, who met not long ago, with a swimsuit. Who knows what other fantasies you might have with Kurokawa-san." I replied with a grin.
"You know that I'm a decent guy. I couldn't possibly have thought something like this."
"Exactly because I know I'm sure that you have already thought how she'll look with her swimsuit," I replied to him with a smile.
And like that, the rest of the way unfolded, with me and Ken accusing each other of the fantasies we may or may not have done.
We arrived at the beach about twenty minutes later and Ken started our conversation.
Upon getting out of the bus I felt the scorching sun hitting my face.
Thankfully I was wearing my hat and sunglasses so I was safe from a sunburn.
"Aah, we chose the perfect day to come to the beach," Satoru-san exclaimed and everyone agreed with her.
As soon as everyone had gotten out of the bus I heard the horn of a car from behind me.
As soon as I turned I saw a sports car coming towards me.
Its color was orange with a big black stripe in the middle.
This Gyu, he did get that car.
He stopped the car next to me and as soon as he lowered the window said with a bright smile, "Yo Haru, I told you I would get the car."
"And to think I didn't believe you'd get it."
"Of course. From the moment we watched that movie I knew that I had to acquire it."
"So that's the Mazda RX-7 Veilside huh? You even painted exactly as it was in the movie."
"Ain't no way I wouldn't and you know it. I'll give you a ride later, so don't worry." He said laughing.
After parking his car not far from us he came towards us, and I must admit that he looked like a model.
With his blue hair caught in a ponytail, his brown eyes and earrings sparkling under the sun and his open shirt that revealed his well-developed abs, I believe that there wouldn't be any girl that wouldn't fall for him.
But somehow he never managed to find a girlfriend.
Honestly, it requires real skill to not be able to find a girlfriend with looks like that.
"Alright, it seems like everyone's here. Let's start our vacations." Sato-san said and everyone including me shouted in agreement and excitement.
