An Unusual Presence

The other two stopped in their tracks, turning around to look at him. 

"I don't want to leave things like this. I want to put their bodies to rest", he told them. 

He looked at Ming Yue to see what she would say.

"Do what you must, I'm going to do some investigating on my own."

She gave them both a look before wandering the ruined city alone. Both Anqing and Xukun went to work, gathering the bodies and laying them on the ground. 

Meanwhile, Ming Yue searched around, spotting more bodies and exploring the abandoned buildings. It was a budding city whose life was cut short by the Starscourges. 

"There's something around here."

Again Xue Yue spoke once more, a second warning. 

"Indeed, something lurks in the shadows."
