Friends?? Or Maybe Not

"Uh... Good morning Mr. Andrews" I brought my right hand forward to the jerk's face. Jerk face?? I need to stop calling him that. How did he even become Mr. Andrews. I really need to start paying attention to the news.

"I'm sorry, I thought he was you" I said pointing to the other guy. I seriously felt like crying. How could I make a mistake like that in front of everyone. I should have asked for his profile from Jane.

"It's fine miss Morgans. Sometimes people tend to make serious mistakes" I almost rolled my eyes at him. See him acting like a gentleman. Tch... Wolf in sheep's clothing. Hmph.

"Of course Sir. Thanks for understanding" I smiled sweetly.

"Now let's get to business. Your company is known to be one of the best when it's comes to interior designing."

"Yes sir, we're well known for our excellent designs. We give our best"

"These are some of the best designs we've done" Jane projected the designs on the screen using a slideshow.

"These are fabulous. We're currently working on a project and we'd like you to be in charge of the interior designing" I almost screamed right there in the meeting room. This is like a really huge deal.

"Now my secretary Rhoda, will fill you the details" the lady that chuckled beside him in the elevator stood up. She seemed to be in her mid forties.

"We are building a hotel at...."

The meeting ended at 12:30pm. I was really famished and tired. The only thing on my mind was food.

"We'll send over our contract so you can review and sign it. If there's any changes you'd like to make you can tell us" I told them standing up.

"It was nice meeting you sir" I shook him and his secretary.

"The pleasure is all mine miss Morgans" He smirked at me. I almost rolled my eyes.

"Now my secretary will see you all out" I used my eyes to signal Jane.

"This way ladies and gentlemen"

"Why don't you guys go ahead. I'll have a little chat with Miss Morgans" What do we need to talk about privately? I'm hungry as it is.

"Of course" Jane said smiling brightly. I glared at her and she quickly walked out with the rest.

"What do you want to talk about sir? Thought we just finished business. You didn't raise any issues when we were in the meeting" I said in a professional tone.

"It's not about business. It's personal. I just wanted to apologize properly for what transpired that night" I scoffed at him.

"Now you want to apologize. Why? For mistaking me as a slut??"

"Hold on, is that the reason you're signing a contract with my company? As a way of apologizing. If that's the reason then I can't sign a contract with you" I won't let him belittle my hard work.

"OMG! Can you just stop jumping into conclusion? My apology has nothing to do with the contract. I saw your works and I loved them that's why I wanted to sign the contract" He ran his hand through his hair tiredly.

"If that's the case then fine. As for the apology I don't need it. We are just business partners, nothing more. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to grab lunch."

"Why don't you let me buy you lunch. Look I'm really sorry about that night and I don't want things to be awkward during the few months we'll be working together. So just let me apologize properly."

"Fine. Since you are trying so hard and you look like you'll cry any moment from now. I don't want to be responsible for that."

"But just one lunch and that's it. Don't even think we'll become besties after this" I grabbed my documents from the table and walked out of the meeting room with him following closely behind.

We were at a nearby restaurant and the way I was eating was definitely not ladylike. But I couldn't care less as hunger had gotten the best of me.

"Can you stop staring at me like that?" He had this look of embarrassment on his face.

"Do you always eat like that? Or you're just doing it to embarrass me" he took a sip from his smoothie.

"That's your problem. You think the world revolves around that your thick skull. Well too bad cause you're the last thing on my mind" I think he was too shocked at the way I spoke to him cause he choked on his drink. He quickly drank water and calmed down.

"Are you sure you're in a position to talk to me like that." He said with his eyebrows raised at me.

"Look, I don't mix my business and personal life together. Right now you're just a guy that's buying me lunch. So don't expect me to be at your services. When it gets to business, I'll be professional" I wiped my mouth with a tissue and took a long sip from my juice.

"Now since you've bought me lunch and we don't have any other thing to talk about, I'll be on my way."

"Come on Jenny, you can't just leave like that. Why don't we try becoming friends. We'll be seeing a lot of each other in the next coming months."

"Don't call me Jenny. We are not close. And I told you that you shouldn't dream of us becoming friends just because you bought me lunch" I folded my arms under my breast looking at him sternly.

"I know, but there's no harm in trying" he smiled.

"I'm not like the girls you sleep around with. Just because you're asking to be my friend, don't think I'll be happy and jump around in joy."

"I don't want to be friends with you so go look for another person to have this conversation with. Now if you'll excuse me, I have more important things to do" I stood up leaving him sitting there.

Friends?? If he thinks because he's a hotshot billionaire I'll do his bidding, then he's wrong. He should go ask his bed warmers to be his friend because I'm definitely not interested.
