Lady: Ex Machina

“This is not the place for you to die…” Those words still rings in my ears... What does it take for someone to protect at all costs? A clueless high schooler’s life would be in the hands of the country's best men and women. Also what complications does it have when getting too close with the main objective? Is getting comfortable enough to get the entire world on the bleeding edge of destruction, hopefully not.

Cleaning & Clearing II

And they did fall for it… Commencing my operation to take them out. Got some fiber wire enchanted with magic that stops it from making noise upon contact. Counting them…

4 of them and they're all wearing our uniforms. But those tattoos alone aren't allowed in school but they're using some advanced tech out there. I have to finish them before they find out that this is a trap.

They split up while waiting for an opening. Perfect timing for me, soon after I took them out. Killing isn't usually one of the things I have to do usually on a mission but it's nice to clear out bastards every once in a while.

Took all three of them one by one until their leader or what I presume is their leader. So I took my time with him while tying him up. And his neck crossed with the fiber wire.

"Tell me if there's more of you." I started interrogating the guy.

"S-Six more coming…" The guy struggled to breathe.

"I know there's more of you out there, is there more than that?" I slowly tighten the wire wrapping his neck.

The guy tried to escape by moving around to try and make me lose grip on him. I kept my feet tight and body on the ground with legs crossed against his torso.

"The more you struggle the more tight this wire gets. Now get talking!" I, again slowly and slightly making the wire more tight as my body also closes in to stop him from moving.

"A-a machine is being delivered here to terrorize this fucking school. We were tasked to infiltrate and cause chaos and panic especially you fucks." The guy continued to struggle but barely had a fight with him anymore.

"Anything else?" I continue to slowly tighten the wire and it starts to bleed on his neck.

"Just what the hell are you-" I quickly yanked the wire, breaking his neck in the process, quickly ending his life.

Soon after I took care of the bodies and started to report to Mom.

Mom you there?

"Yes, dear you got anything from those stalkers?" Mom asked.

Seems like they were planning a huge attack to divert everyone's attention then calling backup which may cause chaos here to distract from what is really gonna happen here.

"What's gonna happen?" Mom replied.

They have a delivery of a machine that might try and destroy this school itself. Krome must be out of his mind on doing this.

"Well if he has to shake up the entire school just to target you guys, I guess this is one way of using your influence. I haven't seen anything about that out here. So be prepared if things go sideways there." Mom replied.

Of course Mom, I have to be prepared for the worst. That and extracting Elizabeth to a safe place is our utmost important mission.

"Yes, good thing you still remember your mission. Also you better head back to your clubroom. Your friends are getting concerned about where you've been." Mom reminded me.

Alright see you around tonight Mom if things don't get sideways here.

"Be safe out there Bea." Mom disconnects as she finishes her words.

These telepathic radios are super convenient since they don't make a sound. They have essentially infinite range. Plus, they don't need batteries to talk to someone. Finishing the clean up of these bastards took a bit of elbow grease, certainly big and heavy for their size but trash all in the end.

After that, I changed my uniform after getting blood stains on it from cleaning the bodies. And headed straight to the clubroom immediately, as I reached for the door handle that opened right in front of me.

"Oh, hey Bea. We were just about to try and find you. We figured that Krome must have done something to you by that time. Where were you?" Asked Sylve.

"I was in the bathroom after finishing a teacher asked me to help her around on some papers sent to classrooms." I replied as we entered the clubroom.

While we sat down they got closer to the table as they huddled up around me.

"I heard there was a rumor that you fought off some of the goons Krome had to bully you?" Asked Hailey.

"That news already spread?" I replied, a bit surprised.

"Well you taking care of those guys who were previously bullying us makes you our savior as well!" Sylve felt relaxed after saying that.

"I didn't know you could fight. Since they're like a lot of them in that group." Hailey questioned.

"I did learn self-defense you know just to be safe out there right?" I replied.

Seems like nothing has dropped yet. They're probably waiting for the ground members to start a riot before the machine deploys…

Mom should be cleaning up the rest of them around the perimeter. Elizabeth looked at me while I stared out the window.

"You thinking about something, Bea?" Asked Elizabeth.

"Well I was just concerned for everyone's safety after what Krome tried to do to me." I replied.

"Don't worry Bea. After we got control over our clubroom, me and Sylve had finally made some specialty tools to protect us from those punks." Hailey pats me on the shoulder giving me the thumbs up and smiling.

"What do you mean?" I replied.

"Well it's similar to-" Hailey's explanation was cut short as screams of students were heard from the courtyard.

Me and the others looked out of the room to check what was happening outside. Of all the times why now?! Mom is probably gonna engage the enemy later.

Remember this is part of the diversion to try and shake things up for us. I better take the lead here, while not being suspicious of my work.

"Hey guys, what should we do?" Asked Mia while being a bit scared.

"We should get the hell out of here." Suggested Sylve.

"No, the robot is out there guarding the exit." I replied.

"So what should we do then?" Asked Hailey.

"For now trying to defend ourselves. Is one thing if that robot ever brings friends with him. And it looks like it brought a lot of them." I replied.

"Is there anything we could use to defend ourselves?" Elizabeth asked.

Hailey's correct, how in the heck could we, well them defend themselves. None of them had prior training for self-defense at the very least. And I'm the only capable fighter out the bunch here.

"Oh, right! We have something to at least try to defend ourselves, follow me to the Proving Grounds!" Hailey led us to the Proving Grounds to show us something.

We went down as quickly as possible.

"Where did you put it Sylve?" Asked Hailey.

"It should be in those crates." Sylve points on the right side of the room.

Hailey opens up the crates to find what she's looking for.

"Ah, there they are." Hailey pulls out weapons from the crate looking like… Guns?!

"Well kind of… And yes at the same time?" Sylve stutters a bit.

"These aren't lethal though. They use magical energy to form bullets. You just need a form of magic to use it. We only have pistols at the moment but they'll at least be our weapons for self-defense." Hailey explained some of the things about the weapon being non-lethal.

But still how in the hell did they manage to build guns within school grounds. Plus how did they got the materials building them? I have so many questions about the legality of this thing.

"Here Elizabeth you have a Neutral form of mana you can adapt to other people's magic. Use this spell to copy mine so you can use the gun." Sylve hands Elizabeth a scroll.

"How do I use it again?" Elizabeth asked.

"You just open the scroll, place your hand on the spell words then visualize the spell if you feel lighter or brighter, if that happens the spell works for you." Instructed Sylve

Elizabeth opens up the scroll and places her hand on the middle and starts chanting it by visualizing. Her aura changed, seemingly copying Hailey's wavelength. I'm learning something that the

"Hope you guys are ready to play some FPS games here in school." Hailey reminds everyone that we can finally fight back.

I can't just use my skills here for now. I'll keep my techniques to a minimum. The guns lit up as everyone's magic synchronized with the weapon. We prepare to take out the intruders of this school.

"Here we go everyone! As soon as we see someone not a student with a weapon. Shoot them down." Sylve slowly opens the door from the basement to our club room.

Suddenly the door opened with a guy holding a rifle aiming at us and I immediately engaged him. Knocking him out after being shot on the head. And after I said that I should hold back, I immediately regretted that decision.

Thank you for picking up this new chapter!
