Kyle was striding down the sidewalk as though he was charging into battle. Andrea was quickly being left behind.
"Kyle, hold up!" she called, jogging to catch up with him. "Kyle, where are you even going?"
His pace slowed. He stopped and seemed to notice where he was for the first time.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
"Is he gone?" Kyle asked, not looking around.
"Yeah. They drove off, he's out of sight," Andrea assured him.
Kyle let out a long slow breath. His shoulders slumped. It was as though he was letting go of all the built up anger and tension from the confrontation with his father.
"... Are you alright?" Andrea asked again. She thought she had got a sense of the animosity between Kyle and his father from their conversation, but judging by Kyle's reaction, he'd been holding himself back.
