Man this new world is a bit... Barren.
Desert as far as the eye can see.
I look and sense out and find out a shocking truth. Nothing was alive in this world.
I sense out further and find the surrounding galaxies devoid of life too.
I then call out to the spirit world to see who is still there.
I reached King Kai who is stunned at the call, "Hello? Who is this?"
I stammer out, "Wh-where is everyone?! What happened here?!"
King Kai gasps as he goes, "Krillin?! You're alive?! How?!"
I raise my hand and go, "Time Ring that travels between timelines. Now what happened?!"
King Kai breaks it down.
Apparently at the time of the original Cell fight Gohan and Cell fought as hard as they could but their beams diverted to the side of their battle and they shot off to the sun and hit it in its core.
The resulting reaction burned the surface of all the worlds in this galaxy.
And the chain reaction hit many more galaxies. As a result they soon left no life left in almost 7 galaxies. Not even Cell survived the radiation and heat.
I then ask is there anything that could be done to repair this universe?
King Kai sighs harshly as he admits that unless the super Dragonballs are accessed by a mortal then the damage will remain as is to this wasteland across a good chunk of this universe.
I nod and think it over before I look to the sky and just shake my head.
I shouldn't interfere as this isn't my home dimension. And all the characters I loved and respected are dead here.
I ask for a head count and he admits that all enemies a d goes here are dead. Only a few champions remain like Bardock on the far off planet. And he has been in contact with him. Broly has been reached by Bardock in this universe to make a powerful duo who go around to defeat evildoers.
And they are even training alongside Beerus to gain their more powerful God Saiyan forms.
I nod and figure this world has a good chance of growing back to where it was given how this was a fan fiction I read. And I wasn't a fan of the premise but it had a good development in the end once you rrad past chapter 10.
I refocus as King Kai asks me if I wanted to be teleported to train with them.
And I am tempted but it would throw a wrench in this worlds story. So instead I ask if he can connect me to the Supreme Kai to train with him in using Divine chi.
He is silent but does so as I hear a young voice answer and shin asks, "So I am told you need to train with me in divine chi. Why should I train you?"
I then look to the sky with a resolute expression on my face before I say, "The threat of Buu will return."
He goes silent and I stay quiet before he says, "Be ready to teleport."
I land on his world of the Kais and see Kibito there with him. The usual complaints come but Shin holds his hand up and silences his attendant quickly. He says, "You've convinced me. It would do me some good to gain some extra power should that monster ever return. How strong have you reached?"
I power up using only Divine chi. He hums and goes, "With this power you would barely be a trainee godling. Or in your terms barely as strong as the first form of Frieza."
I slump a bit before perking up and going, "Well that's good then! I'll take any progress I can!"
He grins and guides me for the next few weeks through some katas the gods use. Some exercises in deep meditation to go beyond my mortal shell. And how to draw in the power of the cosmos to enhance my understanding of the divine chi.
He does the lessons with me and improved a bit as he was getting rusty. Kibito also joined us to enhance his own strength to aid the supreme Kai should Buu really return.
I wasn't surprised he never came back yet. Without viable living planets full of people to drain Babidi would have had no reason to come here.
So he would need to hide his time and wait.
I stay there for a solid half year.
Then I decide that these lessons will serve me well and get ready to jump to the next world.
He stops me and touches the ring. Saying, "I've locked in a world I have gone to before. I believe this would aid you in your training journey. Especially since using only Divine chi. You have gained the strength of second form Frieza. Keep growing well young mortal!"
I nod and jump through the next portal.
I land on... Another Kai world?
No this is! The other worldly tournament!
I hear cheering turn quickly to murmurs as they all stare at the sudden mortal who came in and I suddenly hear a familiar face.
"Krillin?! What are you doing here?"
I turn to see Goku and Picon who are approaching me from the middle of the arena I teleported into.
Looks like they were in the middle of an otherworld tournament.
I rub my head before explaining to him how I got here and why. Mostly the simple version.
He chuckles before nodding in understanding and the supreme Kai who was watching our interaction floats down intrigued.
He nods as I tell him about how another version of himself sent me here.
He nods before smirking and going, "Then he must mean our after tournament challenge! It's a way we allow new godlings to join the ranks of planet gods or if they do well enough... To become contenders for the position of Kais themselves!"
I smirk as I realize this would be a great challenge and way to see my growth in using only Divine chi! I went to the Kai box as a guest to see Goku and Picon go at it again.
They fight for a good 10 minutes with plenty of fighting being seen by all the audience members. And the cheering never stopped.
I was among them as I cheered for Goku to win. He does but not without difficulty as he never went super mode.
I respected him for that.
Soon it was my turn. I went to the arena after they repaired it from how hard the two powerful fighters went at it on that ring.
I powered up with only divine chi while the supreme Kai came to see how this would play out as he hasn't seen a living mortal like me using Divine chi in many centuries. Everyone else here who was a student of divine chi were all dead so they could access it more easily as it permeates the after life.
My first foe wasn't anyone special.
He was powerful but only as strong as Jeice and Burta.
It was a blast from the past to test myself like this against actual foes. But it was a nice experience as I had to learn how to keep the divine chi flowing in my body to avoid mixing it with my mortal chi.
It was harder than I thought thanks to my instinct to use hyper human. But I fought that urge down and managed to win. I'm glad I have my times 40 training rate boost. If it wasn't for that... I shudder to think how long I would have taken in the previous world to get as far as I have.
Especially since I don't have the god ritual that the Saiyans have to help me unlock a demi god or god form.
The next foe was a stronger guy. Not in the sense of more powerful. But more annoying than anything else. He was a powerhouse like Recoome. Durable too.
But after a good amount of divine beam attacks I managed to wear him down.
Supreme Kai was grinning as I made my way through the fighters who were all practitioners of divine chi.
Soon enough my third opponent showed up and he was as strong as first form Frieza. Which meant I had my work cut out for me. It wouldn't be easy. He was easily half my strength at this point.
But I did my best.
It was a hard fought battle as he was able to hide his power level and even managed to get some good hits in when I faltered in my concentration. But I managed to win.
The final fight would be in a few minutes. I took that time to go see the healers to make sure I was fully recovered for the fight.
Shin came to see me and asked, "You've learned from another Kai haven't you? I feel and see your flow and movements being like my training."
I grin sheepishly and show him the divine ring. He nods at that and thinks to himself. Then explains that I was actually missing a crystal step in my training. I perk up and listen as he explains that the Kaio Ken technique is powerful. But unless I use it right with my divine chi then I was limiting my growth as a potential godling.
I think deeply on that as he leaves.
The Kaioken is being used incorrectly?
Hmmm.
I play around with it a bit as I wait for my next match. Then it hits me. It's a Kai technique! It works best with their divine chi! The reason King Kai never mastered it but knew it was because he was a basic Kai!
But supreme Kai probably knows and can use it much better than most mortals and lesser Kais!
I grin as I prepare my trump card.
My opponent across from me appears. He is a race like Picon and he grins as he sees me.
I prepare myself for a hard fight as we both power up.
But I take it a step further. I flow my divine chi into the technique I was given a hint to earlier. Soon my red angry Kaio colored chi calms down to a a flowing sea of rose colored chi. I breathe in and out as my power shoots up to 5 times it power.
My foe gasps and is stunned as he goes, "This can't be!! How has he been able to learn that technique?! Not even I can use that properly!!"
I look at him as I smirk and say, "Let's just say. I had a good teacher." I leap at him with my fist cocked back as he screams in fear at my power.
The fight only takes a minute but he is soon just a beaten pile of broken limbs on the arena floor.
I am proclaimed the winner of the after tournament gauntlet and am given a prize by the supreme Kai himself.
He floats down to me and gives me a medallion filled with divine chi. But in a nurturing way.
He says, "This dragon amulet will continue to help you mold and knead divine chi even when you are asleep. So long as you keep it on. It is a great training aid given to potential mortals who we recognize as great future warriors or godlings. Wear it with pride."
I nod and say I will before I say goodbye to everyone and jump through the next portal. I was excited to see the next world.
