The Fortunate Collision

A private jet landed in city A of the States. Their stood a row of people on the runway with luxurious cars to welcome the person traveling in the jet.

The flight attendant opens the door and there walks out a young man dressed in a luxurious, well fitted Balck suit paired with a white shirt. He is Daniel Rodriguez, one of the wealthiest businessmen of the world and the ruthless mafia boss.

Daniel just returned from country R where he has been located since last 4 years. He left for country R when his father faced some issues in the underworld and he had to suppress the things and took over his father's seat last year as the later declared him the successor as soon as he arrived in country R four years ago.

His years went by working alongside his father trying to suppress the rebellion taking place in the underworld and intervening the attacks that were happening on their lives every now and then.

He spent months clearing the traitors among the Rodriguez family after gaining the position and strengthening his power. Now no one could shake Daniel's position in the family and the underworld. He showed his capabilities with his actions.

Daniel came back in a hurry after he was informed that Sophia is getting married. He didn't try to find about her ever since he left for country R in haste that year because he feared that she might become the target of his enemies, who were keeping an eye on his every action.

He wasn't strong enough to protect her back then but as soon as he got control of all the things, the very first thing he did was asking about Sophia's whereabouts.

He was shifting his business base to the States since a month now and wanted to shift here first, before contacting Sophia but yesterday he got a call from Joe who said she is getting married today.

Daniel felt devastated thinking he might be too late and rushed as soon as he could. Now he is here and was ready to head to the venue of Sophia's wedding.

"Where is the wedding?", Daniel asked Joe, his personal assistant who was standing holding the door by the black Porsche Cayenne waiting for him to step inside.

"The Four Seasons Hotel sir", Joe replied to him and Daniel sat inside the car. Joe closed the door and sat in the passenger seat.

"To the venue", Daniel said without any emotions visible on his face but his heart was feeling restless. He wasn't ready to loose her. 'I can't live without her. Please God help me', he prayed for the first time.

"Yes sir", the driver replied and the car drove out of the runway towards the VIP passage and soon it was speeding on the roads of city A.

The scenery was beautiful with high range building around but no one was in the mood to take a look. Daniel didn't even pay attention to the changes that occurred over the years in the city.

He was preoccupied with his thoughts and didn't realise they reached until Joe called for him. He stepped out of the car.

"Stay here", he said and walked inside through the back door. He wasn't stopped by the security as Joe got the path cleared and he smoothly entered.

Daniel didn't take the front gate because he didn't know how to introduce himself if he ended up meeting the Miller family or anyone. He wasn't even sure if Sophia ever saw him, so he couldn't even say he was her acquaintance let alone friend.

He didn't even know why he came here knowing she is getting married. No he is not going to gate crash her wedding. He would keep his feelings and emotions to himself if Sophia is happy with the wedding. His love was not that shallow that he wanted to possess her against her will, rather he loved her so purely and deeply that if need be, he can stay out of her life just with the memories he had.

He was walking in the corridor and was thinking where Sophia's room might be, when suddenly someone collided with him and he saw the person he wanted to see so badly.

This face has been in his dreams for years and now she stood before him in flesh. Sophia was the one he collided with. She was about to fall when he caught her by her waist securely.

Her eyes were closed tightly fearing the fall. He couldn't help but admire the beauty in front of him. This same girl has occupied his heart ever since he saw her in college during his senior year.

She was a freshman in college who had joined computer science major and he was taking computer science as his second major besides his major economics.

He saw her once and he knew he was hellbound. Before he could approach her he had to leave and the love bud that took root in his heart grew in a flourishing tree over the long years. His love increased over time and now when she was in his arms he was feeling heavenly.

Sophia opened her eyes when she didn't feel the pain and saw the man in front of her who held her securely.

'Am I in heaven. How can there be such a handsome man. He must be an angel. He is just so so so handsome.', Sophia said to herself.

'Can we focus on the crisis we are facing.', her inner voice reminded her and Sophia woke up from her la la land.

After coming out of her thoughts, Sophia composed herself and moved a step backwards and Daniel reluctantly released her not wanting her to feel uncomfortable.

"Thank you for your help. I am sorry I was in a hurry, so I didn't see where I was walking.", Sophia said looking at Daniel but not meeting his eyes.

"It's okay.", Daniel spoke. "Is everything alright?", he further asked worried, fearing she might be facing some trouble.

Sophia wanted to say she is fine but then she paused and took a look at him with meaningful eyes. This time she took a deep look, checking him out from heat to toe.

Daniel became conscious seeing her checking him out thinking he wasn't dressed properly.

Sophia on the other hand felt that he looked perfect fit for the groom. She immediately decided to get married to him but first thing first. "Are you by chance married, engaged or in any relationship?", she asked.

Daniel was confused by the sudden question about his relationship status but he still replied honestly. "No I am neither married nor engaged and had never been in a relationship." , he said showcasing his marriage profile.

Sophia royally chose to ignore the last words he added, thinking he is joking. How is it possible that such a fine man never had been in any relationship? As long as he is not with anyone currently, that's fine.

"Will you marry me?", Sophia said looking into his eyes this time leaving Daniel tongue-tied.
