Chapter – 21 Healing Potion

Finishing the beast Max rushed to Ron's side, Donny was holding Ron in his arms, his breathing was normal but he was unconscious. Seeing him like that Lucas was blaming himself for this incident, if only I had joined them in the fight from the start rather than watched from the sidelines Ron wouldn't have been like this.

"He is not showing any abnormalities right now. Should we head back to the city or wait till he is conscious?" Donny asked Lucas with a shaking voice, he and Ron have been best friends since childhood and now seeing Ron in this condition was somewhat painful for him.

Looking at everyone's faces; I was thinking of using the healing potion that I have gotten from finishing the quest. When Alba the beast attacked the kingdom, I didn't think that I'll survive that day but luckily, I did, and one of the rewards from that quest was these healing potions. I have two of them I can save one for myself and I should give the other to Ron.

"Here make him drink this" Max had taken out the bottle of potion, just like how his Dimensional Travel work a small crack appeared and Max put his hand inside to take out the potion from it and nobody asked Max where he had gotten this, they just hurriedly made Ron drink that. It was good that everyone's attention was on Ron and none of them saw me pulling out this potion from thin air.

When the last drop of the healing potion entered Ron's mouth, his whole body started to illuminate a shining light and the next second Ron spitted out the blue liquid from his mouth and when the blue liquid fell on the ground everyone was able to see that there was also something else that had come out with the liquid. It was a worm the size of a little finger, seeing it wriggling like that, Lucas didn't want to take a chance and he instantly squished it by his foot.

"Are you okay, Ron?" Lucas asked, "Yes, I'm perfectly fine now but earlier it felt like my organs were burning from the inside," hearing Ron say that everyone realized that the worm might have damaged his internal organs but luckily the potion from Max had saved Ron's life.

"To us, you seemed perfectly fine other you being unconscious but now we think that liquid from that beast might have a parasite inside it and it would have taken your life in a day or two" Hearing Lucas's explanation Ron was a little scared, "But now you're fine thanks to Max. By the way Max where did you get that potion from?" Lucas asked Max curious about the potion with such great effects, he had heard in some kingdoms there are potions like this available but Max was not from this world so him having a potion like this was odd for Lucas.

Now comes the hard part Max thought, well it's good I already have a great excuse for this. "When you had gone out leaving us in the inn, I had sneaked out to tour the city. When I was traveling on the street, I come across an old man who needed some help with his luggage and after I helped him, he gave me that bottle of potion saying if you ever get hurt drink this and you will be back to normal." Hearing Max, Lucas wasn't able to believe that someone would give a life-saving thing just to help them with their luggage.

"It's good that you sneak out, if not I think by the time we get back to the city to get medicine for Ron his organs might have been eaten by that worm," Lucas said while thinking about who that old man might be, but only Max knew that there was no old man he had gotten those potions as a reward from his quest.

"Can you continue with us or do you want to rest for some time?" Lucas asked Ron who he thought might be feeling some kind of fatigue but to his surprise. "No, we can continue right away I feel fully energized, we shouldn't waste any more time," Ron said, and knowing that he is perfectly fine everyone was relived and they again start to follow the trails of beasts but this time they were being extra careful not get ambushed by any beast again. Before heading out Max had cut the beast and taken out the crystal from it.

Continuing their travel Lucas had finally signaled them to stop, telling them that the beast is nearby.

"Everyone listen closely now that we are close to the beast, I'll explain what kind of beast it is. The beast we are looking for is small even smaller than the beast you had earlier Max." Thinking about the grey beast that Max had killed he can imagine how small it might be. "I can't say what color of beast it is but it's a rare tier beast and all of you have to be careful about one thing his special ability is somewhat dangerous." Everyone was listening very carefully to what Lucas was saying.

"The beast's body emits a gas that will put you to sleep if you inhale it for less than a second you will instantly fall asleep, try to keep your distance from the beast, and if he emits the gas don't inhale it" Lucas warned everyone, now knowing what kind of beast they are going to face everyone was ready to get into the fight; they just have to wait till the beast show up here.

After waiting for Twenty minutes everyone heard slight noises coming from ahead, after seeing the source of that noise; Max was surprised that it was a rabbit it was not a rabbit-like creature or something. It was an exact rabbit just like how they were in his world. But Max instantly removes those cute images of rabbits from his world that had come into his mind seeing the beast, cause' this world was beast world every beast here is dangerous to him.

Seeing the beast Lucas was ready to attack it any moment but he was waiting for the right moment when the beast was not paying attention. After waiting for a bit, the beast started to dig on the ground seeing that the beast had let his guard down, Lucas jumped towards the beast he had taken a leap from fifteen feet away from the beast and now he was upon the beast in the air with his black sword aiming for the beast.

Sensing the incoming threat, the beast dodged the attack from Lucas by jumping to the side and seeing Lucas close to him he released the gas to make him sleep but Lucas was already prepared for this and realized that he had missed the beast he had already retreated some distance back from the beast. Both of their attacks had missed the target, and now both of them were standing against each other.

Lucas was the first to make a move again and run toward the beast. Lucas knew that the beast can't emit that gas again for some seconds taking advantage of this he wanted to hit the beast with his sword. He knew that he only needed one hit and this beast won't be able to move after taking the hit.

Seeing Lucas running forward to the beast Donny, Ron and Max was ready to attack any moment but they were waiting to see how strong the beast is, if they rushed into the battle and the gas from the beast hit them, they will become a burden for Lucas.
