Eva's POV

Derrick and I cuddled under the duvet. He was fast asleep but I couldn't sleep because I was hunted by the memories of that party. The look on my mom's face when she came out of the hall to talk to me and how I snubbed her, Henna wanted to talk to me but I snubbed her too.

As Derrick draged me out of the party, my mom rushed towards me stopping us abruptly.
" Eva???!!!!!!" Mom called with tears lingering around her eyes.
" May I know you ma'am?" I asked coldly
" My child, am sorry I know that I have wronged you by not supporting you through your hard times. Please forgive me for accusing you for something you didn't do. I later realized my mistakes but it was too late, Destiny made me see my mistakes but you were not there to for me apologize " mom cried trying to come close me. I stepped back being consumed with anger for her not being there when I needed you the most. I needed her as a mom but she ignored me, down casted me and trashed me like I was not her daughter, I was locked up for more than 6 months but never for once did she come to see me.

In a dark small and narrow room, with stone walls and dirty floor. I was sitting on the floor looking haggard, and dirty with heavy chain's binding my hands and legs together like a criminal. I have been in this cell room for over six months now for a crime I didn't commit. How was the Beta Knight's father killed? How come I became a suspect of something the I know nothing about?. I was just a weak omega eagerly waiting to turn 18 so I can meet my mate. But now am just a prisoner. I remember clearly when my mom told me to assist her in checking on the Beta Knight's father. If not for the love of I have for my mom, I wouldn't have been that situation. She would have been the person in that situation while I would be out, my pride wouldn't have been taken away from me forcefully and I wouldn't have been killed.
" Ma'am I think you're mistaken, you mistook me for your daughter whom you wronged but am not the person. Am Xanthe de Winton from Starlight Pack and also the Luna of that Pack but if what you said is true then go to her grave and apologize " I sneered trying not to act rude but my anger is indirectly taking over me. Henna stood there transfixed, not knowing what believe anymore because she came to find her best friend and ended up meeting someone who's more deadly.
" If you all have nothing else to say to me then, my husband and in-laws are waiting for me. I bet to take your leave" with that I turned around and left ignoring the calls I got from them.

What made think her that I would wake up one morning and just forget everything that happened to me like it never happened when the evidence of dreadful night is always in my eyes. I will slowly torment them until they apologize or begin to live in fear for what will happen. I know that something is wrong with the Pack the instant I stepped my foot on the floor. Hecate the queen of witches has her powers over them but they can't see it until it's too late for them. In as mush as I want to ignore them all and make them suffer but I can't because some innocent lives would be paying for something they didn't do. I don't want the children to pay for they families mistakes. I would visit the gods temple tomorrow morning to see the priest and know that lays ahead of me.
" You aren't sleeping again?" Derrick asked with a sleepy voice.
" Am about to " I uttered surprised not knowing when he woke up. He stroke my hairs gently until I became sleepy, I slept in his arms; my comfort and safe zone.
★★★★ MORNING~~~~ TEMPLE ★★★★
The stone building looked ancient, its walls covered in moss and vines. There was a door, made of wood and bound with metal, and a small window high up on the wall. There was no other sign of life in the clearing. In the middle of the building, I was sited with the priest for some questions.
" I know the reason why you're here, now listen carefully" the priest said with his closed as if he was meditating. " There are two witches in the palace, one a male which arrived today and the second is a girl who has been kidnapped for 8 years now. Hecate kidnapped her and sent someone to impersonate her with the motive of getting close to the Alpha which has already worked. The second one which arrived today is a male who came to seduce the Luna for some reasons which is left for you to find out. You have too stop them before the blood moon which is coming up 3 weeks from now. A strange illness will be inflicted on the children by tomorrow and you will be needed for using your extra ordinary skills to save them. One more thing, the truth you seek is far more complicated than you think it is. The person who framed you up, framed someone else years ago when you were still a child; and the person is the closest to the Alpha, so get ready to face problems and humiliation but in the end you will win but at the cost of something you love the most" he concluded.
" Who is this girl that was kidnapped and how do I help her?" I asked curiously.
" The girl would come to you when the time is right and as for the male one, try to find out the reason behind him coming to her that will help you alot" he uttered dryly.
" I still don't understand what you mean. How can find out all this secrets when they all hate me and if given a chance I would be dead?" I whisper yelled.
" There are many secrets in that Pack that are yet to be revealed. You are the destined savior and all I can do is to guild you on what to do. Prepare cause you're leaving this Pack soon and going there. All I must tell you, the road to the journey is not a bed of roses but full of thorns that you will encounter but the result will be worth it. Derrick is your destiny and helper not matter what you see nor hear about him, hold him tightly cause if he leaves you then you baned to fail in this life. He has a major role to play in this story. Go now, we'll met some other time and I will tell what to do next cause then the journey would have become tougher " with this statement, he walked out of there heading towards an inner room while I stood transfixed, trying to figure out what to do next cause am confused.
I slowly came out of the building, contemplating on what the priest said. ' There are many secrets yet to be revealed and at the cost of someone dear to me???' those words kept echoing in my head until I bumped into a person trashing everything he was holding.
" Am sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you" I apologized trying to pick this things on the floor.
" Just let it go, am fine. Please be careful it's not wise for a young lady like you to be walking such lonely roads lost in your world" he cautioned like as if he was my elder brother.
" Am sorry and thank you for the advice. I would be leaving and if you would like to pay for i will do that. Please don't be mad" I begged.
" It's okay. If my sister were close to me she would be around your age, so I see you as a younger sister. Don't pay for it but you have to tell you your name and where I can find if I want to see you " he said looking cutely at me as if trying to bribe me with his smile.
" First, am married if you're trying to hit on me. Secondly, my name is Xanthe de Winton; Luna of this Pack" I replied, feeling a strange connection to him .
" Okay but an not hitting on you but I just see my sister in you and I will tell you about her if we met again. Bye for now" he smiled walking away while waving his hands.
* DID YOU FEEL THAT CONNECTION TOO?* Rowona, my wolf asked .
* i thought you said you wouldn't talk to me for 3 months??* I fired her instead of answering her questions.
*WELL NOT AFTER I HEARD WHAT THAT PRIEST SAID, AND ALSO THIS CONNECTION WITH THIS GENTLEMAN* Rowona growled
" You are one strange wolf but I love you that way, now let me go home and tell Derrick what happened and see what he have to say about it "
* I WONDER THE ROLE MATE HAS TO PLAY IN YOUR PAST. AND ABOUT THAT GIRL THAT WAS KIDNAPPED BY THAT WHICH, HOW DO WE SAVE BEFORE IT BECOMES TOO LATE?*
" The gods that started it will definitely help me finish it"
* OKAY. I WILL BE WITH YOU ON THIS, THOUGH YOU'RE ALWAYS ANNOYING AND DOESN'T WANT ME TO GET CLOSE TO MY MATE*
I scoffed. The reason for her anger was when I refused to have sex with Derrick when she was in heat. I managed to control that urge cause he was wounded from the battle he went for.
* I CAN HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS BUT I WON'T PICK ON THAT TODAY. WHAT IF DERRICK REFUSES TO LET YOU GO TO THAT PACK ALL BY YOUR SELF? YOU AND I KNOWS HOW OVERPROTECTIVE HE BECOMES WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR MATTERS* Rowona stated her point which was very true.
" I don't know his reaction yet so don't ask me such question yet" I said cutting off the mind link as soon as I stepped into the Palace gate. I met mother inlaw and Jade outside looking extra worried.
" Mother????"
" Xanthe!!! Where have you been? Derrick was about to send some guards to search for you around the Pack thinking that something bad happened to you" she all at once breathing heavily.
" I went to the Temple to clarify the thing that has been bothering me for a long time now. I didn't know that I would get you all worked up by this, if I had known then I would have informed you before leaving early in the morning." I explained as she took a deep breath, calming her nerves.
" Please don't do this again. We thought that the enemies has taken you away from us, rush to brother cause he's preparing for war against his enemies thinking they have you with them" Jade said, pointing towards he's inner chamber where he always prepare for war. I rushed into the room leaving everyone behind including the maids who looked shocked on seeing me.
" Derrick??" I called out softly. He turned shapely on hearing my voice. Before he could process anything I threw my self on him hugging him tightly as he reciprocated the hug.
" Where the hell did you go to?" He whispered.
" To the temple to enquire about Pack and I thought alot of information you might want to hear" I said breaking the hug, while he looked livid.
" Was that reason why you left without telling anyone where you went to? Did you know how worried I been ever since you left? You went to inquire about a Pack that doesn't even care if you exist or not all because of revenge? I told you not to lose your self to revenge but I guess I was wrong, you only do what's on your mind!!!!!" He yelled at me for the first time in 8 years of us knowing each other. I knew I was wrong but can't he just understand it form my own side.
" Am sorry" I apologized but just walked on leaving me behind.
As soon as he left, a maid came out of hiding smiling sinisterly at Xanthe.
" He was mine first and will always be mine. I don't care if he's your husband or not, I have a child for whom will be crowned Prince soon. Just and watch as I kick you out of this Pack" she smirked walking out of the inner room. I turned as soon as I heard footsteps, I smiled cause I have gotten my first scapegoat.
" You are leaving first not me. I will believe what Derrick says to me" I tried to assure myself that what I heard was wrong.
