Guardian of the Pacific: The Incredible Adventures of the Giant Turtle

The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.

Black Technology

Calming down, Torterra rose to his feet. He looked over his body and noticed a new scar on the side of his stomach. He had many scars on his body. From the crack on his chest from the first fight, to the scars from the holes made by the bugs. Now he had a scar on his stomach. He looked pretty awful. Rough and ugly plates of armor covered the wound, standing out from the beautiful and symmetrical armor on the belly and chest.

Unfortunately, he didn't notice any changes in body size, but his tail did. It grew even longer and was covered in some strange lines that looked like scars, and they converged at the tip of the tail. It was strange. The tip of the tail became hard and sharp and resembled a sting.

'Let's see what it does?!' It was some kind of new organ, and Torterra decided to channel energy into it. He concentrated on his fiery breath and channeled the energy from it to his tail. Normally he could not control this process. He only concentrated the energy inside himself, and his body heated itself.

It was the same now, but he tried to imagine how the energy was going to the tail. But instead, his spikes on the sides of his body began to glow orange. First, the spines on the chest and neck glowed, and then the rest of the spines slowly heated up one by one, all the way to the tail.

When the energy reached the tail, the scars on the tail also lit up, transmitting the energy to the tip.

PPRRRRRR

Illuminated by orange light from the tip of the tail, a yellow beam flew into the sky, cutting through the clouds.

' Amazing! This is quite a mutation!' Torterra was delighted. This beam will allow him to make sneak attacks. But how is it that he can do this? After thinking about it, he remembered that he had eaten the tail of a Kaiju caterpillar. It had a spike at the end of its tail. And the Octopus could also release a concentrated stream of water from the tips of its tentacles.

Torterra took his time, so he spent some time playing with this new mutation. It turned out to be a very powerful attack capable of slicing through the island. This beam had a greater concentration of energy than when he tried to concentrate his fire beam by simply clenching his mouth shut.

'It's all good, but I have to go. I probably got a lot of work during my sleep. How much sleep did I have?' For some reason, this question scared him. What if he slept through everything and the Kaiju took over the world?

KREKK

Glass crunched under his feet as Torterra headed toward the ocean. Most of the sand on the island has melted, turning into glass.

Raising his spear, he reached the water step by step and slowly sank into it, causing waves. The cool water began to wash away all the dirt and ash from him.

Lowering his head into the water, a beautiful picture opened before him. Everything around the island was covered with corals and various plants. Many fish were swimming around. Sunlight filtered through the water, illuminating a wonderful world filled with life.

Smiling and admiring the underwater world, he swam to his island.

POV: Yun

"Finally he woke up! If he's going to fall asleep like this after every fight, I'll get old sooner than I'll make a good video with him." Yun complained as usual as she gathered her things.

After Torterra fell ill and fell asleep, she had nothing to do on his island, so she asked Mr. Pentecost to give her permission to make videos of pilots and Jaegers at various bases.

She was currently based in Alaska making a video about Raleigh's new partner. Although their first drift was not the best, but with each new drift the quality of synchronization was better and better.

Raleigh and Mako haven't had combat missions yet, but they've already managed to receive punishment from the Marshal and have been cleaning Torterra`s Island for a whole month. It happened when they drifted back into their memories. Although this happened to many on the first drift, but on the fifth such a mistake is not forgiven.

They got half an hour of yelling from the Marshal and a month of slavery on the island. Such punishment was very effective for them. They learned to work in harmony by doing a simple job, and after they returned, they made no more mistakes in controlling their Jaeger.

In fact, Yun was busy all these 6 months. She had many interesting interviews with various pilots and many beautiful videos of Jaeger training. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one interviewing pilots, but her familiarity with Raleigh and Marshall's favor opened many doors for her.

Knock Knock Knock

There was a knock on Yun's door and she stopped gathering her things and went to open the door.

"Hello. Are you ready?" Mako was standing outside the door. She was dressed in a beautiful business suit and held a tablet in her hands.

"Almost. Did you come to say goodbye?" Yun and Mako became friends during these few months of living together on the same base. They were about the same age and both from Asia, so they easily found a common language.

"Not at all. I want to go to the island with you and meet Terry." Mako had a smile of excitement on his face. Despite her mistrust of his knowledge and background, and the fact that Mako's mother blamed Torterra for losing her home in Tokyo, she still wanted to meet him. It's not every day you get to talk to a Titan.

"But you are a pilot! Don't you need to be with your Jaeger in case of an attack?" Yun didn't mind the company, but she didn't want any trouble.

"All is well. The Kaiju attack was a month ago and we still have the same amount of time before the next attack. And I took permission from Mr. Pentecost."

"Then it's great! Give me 5 minutes." Yun turned and ran back to her room to finish getting ready.

After packing up, they both headed for the hangar with the planes. The hangar was huge and filled with various planes and helicopters. There was no runway here, as in airports, because both helicopters and airplanes could take off vertically.

Approaching one of the planes, they went into the open hatch at the back.

"Is anyone here?" Yun asked loudly because it seemed that no one was there.

"Girls! Where are you going?" Raleigh came out of the cockpit with a big smile. He was dressed as a pilot.

"Are you our pilot?" Mako was surprised to see Raleigh. She thought it was going to be a girls trip.

"How could you ask Marshal for leave and not take me with you?" Raleigh pretended to be angry, but he was actually joking.

"This is not a vacation! I just want to see Torterra up close."

"Perfectly. Then you will not be against my company." Raleigh replied.

Entering the plane, the three of them sat down and fastened their seat belts. Raleigh boldly pushed the buttons and started the engine. Mako sat next to him and assisted him as co-pilot. This is the first time she sat in the pilot's seat and the first time driving such a vehicle. She hadn't even learned to drive it, but she still knew what to do.

Even if she was here alone, she would be able to fly the plane. She simply did not have a pilot's license. She got all this knowledge after drifting with Raleigh. Everything he knew how to do, now she could do it too.

"It's amazing!" Yun watched with admiration as Mako piloted the plane. The engines roared, and they slowly began to move towards the plane's takeoff point.

"Imagine that you can teach children this way! In just one drift, a Nobel laureate can pass on all his knowledge to children who will be able to continue his work." Yun dreamed aloud.

"Yes, it's cool, but not everyone can drift." Raleigh was a skeptic.

"But it's only now. We can improve the technology and make it accessible to everyone." Mako also picked up on Yun's dream.

"You don't need to spend decades to learn anymore! You can imagine the development of technologies when knowledge will be transferred like hot cakes. You can even sell knowledge! If you want to become a cook, buy the knowledge of a cook!" Yun continued to dream.

Raleigh and Mako turned their heads to Yun and looked at her.

"What?"

"This is a good idea. It might be worth patenting it, because in 50 years it will be feasible and very popular." Mako praised Yun. In fact, drifting technology was revolutionary. This technology could accelerate the development of mankind hundreds of times.

"I don't think it will work. Jaegers is a project of Dr. Jasper Schoenfeld. He may have already patented all these ideas." Everyone knew who created the Jaegers, but few spoke to this Dr. Jasper. They say that he has some problems, that's why he doesn't like to come out to people.

"Well I do not know. Dr. Jasper may be a genius, but you'd be surprised how geniuses feel about patents. And good intelligence does not make you omniscient. He may not even be aware of the potential of his technology." Raleigh has been a pilot for a long time, and he has never seen the creator of the Jaegers before. He only heard rumors about his broken love.
