Chapter 12 Emma's decision II

''Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes.'' Emma's voice was heard coming from the kitching.

Kaile and Sophia quickly broke apart, both of them were blushing furiously, their hearts were beating at a mile a minute.

Sophia turned around and lowered her little head, not daring to look at Kaile and show him her embarrassed expression, usually she's the one to tease him, not the other way around.

Without another word or without looking back Sophia left walking down the creaky stairs.

Kaile on the other hand was in an inner turmoil, that hint of sadness he was unable to dissipate deep from within his heart, for a moment it completely vanished.

Kaile has always been seeking a way to rid himself of this sadness, it was Salia that helped him to understand that the key was family, after 3 years of her constant visits to him in the orphanage, the other flowing sadness that seeped out from his eyes gradually diminished to a point he could hide it.

For a while after he was able to hide his sadness from the eyes of people like his caretakers, or the children in the orphanage, the bullying he always experience seemed to stop completely, it wasn't until a month or two later that he was adopted by Emma and Sophia at the age of 8.

That's when he truly understood what happened to him, it was like a retaliation stuck him out of nowhere, as he was in the back of the car watching as Salia's figure got further and further away, that's when he realised just how much she meant to him, that's when he realised the key to dissipating this sadness in his heart was family.

So when Emma proposed to have a family gathering every weekend he didn't refuse, especially when Emma introduced to him the vampire genre, seeing how they are all connected by bloodlines and how they looked after one another in their own clan, made Kaile yearn for the same thing. 

So Kaile started to read many different books, the three books he stuck with were three in total. One was about dragons, and other about origin humans, and finally the third one about an ancient vampire progenitor.

But in the end, and with the help of Sophia and Emma getting closer and closer to him, making him feel like he had a family.

Kaile still never truthy felt connected, that last little bit of sadness in his heart still lingered. 

It was like a curse, unable to dissipate no matter what he did, no matter how he felt towards Emma and Sophia.

So Kaile thought it was just because of the parting with Salia but now he realised he was wrong.

After what happened just now, Kaile finally understood.

With this understanding Kaile's face lightened up, a smile was plastered all over his face, his steps felt light and steady, before he realised it he was already in the kitchen sitting on the chair beside the dark grey marble dotted island.

A bright smile was on his face, making him look like a drug addict that just got his fix. 

For 5 minutes in the kitching nothing changed, Sophia was still too embarrassed to speak after what happened early so she buried her face in her phone.

Emma was too busy cooking therefore didn't turn around even once the whole time, otherwise with her superpower-like ability to read people, she surely would have been able to put two and two together rather quickly. 

Something that she wouldn't have particularly minded, after all Kaile is an adopted child, not Sophia's blood related sibling so everything is okay, she would have thought.

Unfortunately for her, she never could have imagined the future to come, but if she looked at the current situation now, only if she turned around, maybe she wouldn't have been so shocked in the future. 

As Kaile was in a daze, Sophia tuned up the sound on her phone in order to try and dispel the awkwardness only she was feeling.

She clicked on a random video in the heat of the moment. 

''Breaking news, scientists have discovered a new type of energy in the air! This energy seems to be new and just came out of nowhere yesterday. Today we have the famous scientist Mr Blight to explain to us. Mr Blight is the energy harmful in anyway?''

The sound of a young female news reporter caught Kaile's attention, bringing him out of his dazed state.

''What are you listening to.'' He asked a stupid question just to break the ice with Sophia, seeing how she still seemed to be in her own world of awkwardness. 

Sophia had her chin on the island, her arms were outstretched and her pink bear hoodie was covering her head, this was the favour position Sophia loves to be in when waiting for food in the kitching.

With a lazy shrug of her right shoulder, she replied. 

''I dunno, I just clicked on something at random.''

''The new energy found in the air all over the human continent, isn't harmful in anyway possible.'' Mr Blights voice was heard from Sophia's phone. 

''So we normal people won't just start to grow another head?'' The news reported replied

''No. Not at all, in fact the energy seems to be helpful to all living beings, the energy seems to evolve lifeforms it touches in a positive manner.'' Mr Blights over enthusiastic voice could be heard, he sounded like a typical nerd scientist that just discovered something world shaking.

''So lifeforms as in us humans too?'' The news reporter inquired. It may be hard to hear for normal people, but it sounds like this news reporter is trying to catch Mr Blight in a lie. 

Mr Blights voice resounded out again. 

''I ensure you miss Jennet, that all tests so far have being positive.'' 

''But hasn't it only been one day since the energy was found? How can you say it's only positive?''

''That's simple, due to the test performed in the lab, we have determined that.'' He cleared his throat as if he's going to make a huge announcement. 

''We determined the energy can only evolve life positively, it's impossible to destroy anything, nor can it create anything negative for the lifeform. '' 

''Well, what is the name of this… Energy?'' 

With what sounded like a bright smile on his face, from Sophia's phone that Kaile heard.

''We are proud to announce the name of the energy, named by the Blight family, one of the top 5 biggest families in the world… Genis energy!''

''Genis energy as in the Genis scripture?'' The news reporter asked in shock. 

''Indeed after comprehending the first line, and it saying @$#!% it's clear what the energy originated from and so what it should be called.''
