CHAPTER 29: A HINT OF MY TRUE POWER

Zane quickly threw superman to the side once more. Thinking of what he should do now. There are a plethora of abilities that he could gain from people here, but out of all of them, what he wanted the most was the speed force. It was convenient in Zane's hands and the polar opposite for people he would be up against, but he needed to play his cards right. He didn't want to prove both batman and Nick correct on their judgement.

' How should I Approach this... One, I could kill some of them, but that would make batman and nick correct or two? I could just simply disappear... but that's far too boring. ' He thought, pondering multiple ideas that came through his head, until he finally found the perfect one. Without hesitation, he began his grand plan.

Before anyone could react, zane maximized his perception once more. He wanted to illustrate his level of speed with those here. Taking his time, he instantly transformed into a partial kakuja state, blitzing towards wally west. He would be the one of only persons that could catch up to himself, including other speedsters of their calibre, but only both were present here, and he was going to take advantage of that.

Quickly running, he hastily grabbed a strand of wally's hair, absorbing it quickly. He didn't want them to enhance their speed to match or possibly surpass his. His goal was to test whether he could somehow gain a pseudo speed force for himself. Now his next demonstration. That would be a bit... trickier.

After a couple minutes in his time, only an instant had passed in real time. Finishing his plan, he returned to the exact position he was in before moving, returning to normal and turned his perception disabled. Before anyone could attack and help capture zane. Taking a closer look, they realized that there were a plethora of items next to him that were never there before.

' Wait a minute!... why's my utility belt over there? ' said a male hero.

' huh!? why is my jacket where he is too?... ' said a female hero.

' I lost my earrings here ' Another hero said in the crowed, with more people realizing that something was radically off here.

All the heroes were puzzled. Everyone had lost something they had on their suits. Even earrings to even pants, guns, etc. They were where zane was standing. Finally breaking their outburst, zane decided to reply calmly. " Calm down everyone... I know you all have realized something that you have. No, sorry HAD is on your person... I don't think I need to tell you all what I could really do if I was truly serious. "

They all stood with visible ... could he really be that fast? Some thought it was impossible, even flash and wally had items up there too. Then it finally hit them. The epiphany was made clear as day to them. They were simply ants messing with a war machine that was vastly more powerful than them. He could have ended them within that small time frame, but he didn't. To them, it was unbelievable.

" I would advise you all stop with your... fruitless endeavour. " Zane said. They were still clearly in shock, bewildered at this scenario. What happened to them was a first. A man potentially stronger than superman, and faster than the flash, is a deadly combo. A combination none wanted to put to the test.

" Let him go! " a woman dressed in a dark cloak said. " There's no point in fighting him... he clearly outclasses us by multiple different leagues ". Zane didn't really know who it was, but he knew he took a pendant from her. Lowering the hood, revealing herself, it was Raven. An unexpected voice of reason, but it didn't matter to zane (not).

" A wise choice. I would suggest you all listen to your friend there... ". Zane said with a emotionless tone in his voice.

Within a moment, Zane caught superman attempting to charge back into the fight again with far more power. With it being a surprise attack, it successfully landed in Zane's liver and the other in the jaw with maximum power. Launching zane into the stratosphere. Giving the heroes a bit of time to think.

" Dont listen to him! You all see what he could do. He's far too powerful to be left to roam unchecked? " Superman said, bringing back some morale to the heroes there. In truth, they were ashamed to be left in a position like that. Through countless life and death battles, they thought they couldn't be terrified, especially to that point.

" Would you all think for a second? ", shouted the female, it was none other than storm. " He clearly warned us, he left us alive with the opportunity to end us all! Don't be fools. "

Barry nodded. " I agree, he could have ended us easily, but he didn't... I don't want to make an enemy with a person like that... he doesn't seem all that bad either... ". Some nodded, while others didn't know what to think about this situation.

Batman saw what was happening and knew it was time to step in. He couldn't let them be swayed, not after how far he's come with this case..

" NO! We have reason enough. " Shouted the dark-knight. " I am sure you all have seen what hes capable of, and I'm also sure he's hiding more abilities than that. This could be a ploy to set us apart, to create division. I say we imprison him and keep him at bay, there's no telling if he is going to go rogue in the future and side with our enemies. "

" Or not! Look batman, I get it. There is a possibility here he could go bad, but what if he doesn't? Can't we give him a bit more lax? We were watching the guy like a hawk prior. I can see why he wants to leave. I agree with what raven and storm are saying. It's better to let him go his own ways. He saved the earth and I don't want to give him a reason to destroy it! " Said the lantern. With most agreeing.

" That's my point. He is simply too powerful. The cons outweigh the pros. He is far too volatile to be set free without some form of supervision. " Batman countered.

" I agree as well. He could be a potential code 'E.N.D' for earth if he's left unsupervised. " Nick said, agreeing with batman. He didn't want any sort of outside/alien forces to mess with his planet. he thought that there was simply too much danger. Especially in one as powerful as zane was.

Back up towards the stratosphere, Zane looked back down to earth. It was best if he left. He got what he came. He didn't need to be here anymore, other than for nostalgic purposes. Looking at his status, he saw his new speed force ability and new found speed. H could feel it.

Relishing the feeling, he activated it. Arches of black and dark purple lightning surrounded him, as his speed, reaction and thought process increased immensely. " System. Teleport me away now to the next zone. I have nothing more to do here. " Shrugging mentally, he thought to himself. ' Those fools only tasted a hint of my true power... '. Zain said with a bit of irritation. Before getting teleported.
