Battling it out in the mirror dimension.

<1943>

Creating portals was the easy part. Doing it without being seen, now that was the hard part. I had many memories of Camp Lehigh from the movie: Captain America the first avenger, so I created a portal to the cabin where Steve and Dr. Erskine had their talk before the procedure.

Unluckily, when I stepped out of the portal, I was greeted with the gaping faces of Gilmore Hodge and a few of his friends. Luckily, I could easily force them all to sleep with the boost copying Charles' power had given my telepathic prowess.

After they fell asleep, Hodge, funnily, fell headfirst to the ground, I closed my eyes and erased their memories of seeing the portal. I was under a concealment spell so they hadn't seen me.

After dissipating the portal and waking the soldiers up through telepathy, I entered the mirror dimension to survey the area for Erskine. Along the way I saw Peggy Carter and Colonel Phillips discussing something and decided to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Dr. Erskine has decided on who he wants the first super soldier to be," Peggy said.

Phillips sighed as he kept going through some files, "Don't tell me he chose that skinny Steve Rogers."

Peggy remained silent. Chester looked up and groaned, "He did choose that asthmatic kid, didn't he? I swear looking at him during training makes me pity him."

"But he did choose him, sir," Peggy replied. "according to him Mr. Rogers possesses excellent character traits which make him the best option there is."

"Rubbish! We need super soldiers to win the war, it's their strength what really matters and as far as I have seen, the kid wouldn't be able to load the ammo for the heavy artillery. He would die the second he joins the front lines," the colonel rebuked.

Peggy stood there in silence. Phillips finally said to her without looking up from the papers on his desk, "*sigh* Bring me his files, and the doctor's opinions on him too."

Peggy smiled and left with a salute.

"Hmm, I might not be late but I didn't want to be this early," I hummed while I ransacked my brain to find something else to do. I checked my grimoire, I could now turn the pages but all of them were completely empty, excluding a list of all my powers.

Peggy returned and placed a file on Colonel Phillips' desk. I left after using telepathy on the old colonel for all the information related to Project Rebirth and it's dates and left to find Dr. Erskine.

After telepathically stealing all of his knowledge from a sleeping Dr. Erskine, I entered the mirror world to portal to my current base of operations, a room in a great hotel I found. How was I paying for it? Bitch please, all those lessons about the responsibilities of telepathy was for Charles. Me? I exploited the hell out of it.

Also I wasn't going to stay there for much longer. I kept moving around just as a precaution. I decided to go after Sebastian Shaw for now. I created a portal to his office, the one I had seen in X-Men: First Class.

Sebastian Shaw was sitting in his office. Raised eyebrows were the only reaction I saw as he stared at the portal in front of him. I was already standing beside him under a concealment spell. As the portal vanished, he frowned and moved his eyes around the room. Probably searching for a mutant.

I tried to force him to fall unconscious but I faced resistance from his mind. "Hmm?" I voiced my surprise. I increased my output and used the teachings of Kamar Taj to breakthrough his barrier and knock him unconscious.

<After a few hours>

Shaw woke up. I stood there watching over him without any concealment spell on me as he woke up and looked around in confusion. I had brought him to the mirror dimension. More specifically, a little away from Auschwitz. I wanted to show him the mirror dimension.

"Who are you?" he asked the moment he noticed me.

"A meta-human like you." I answered.

"Meta-humans? Is that what we are called?" Shaw asked as he stood up and fixed his clothes.

"Yeah. Why?" I asked.

"No, nothing. I just wonder why would we attach 'human' to our name when we are clearly far superior," He replied with a frown. "If I may ask, where are we?"

"This here is the mirror dimension. I have brought you here to have a talk with you," I informed him.

"Is this a result of your power? To create portals to this 'mirror' dimension?" He asked as he looked around. "I have to say it's quite impressive."

"Thank you for the compliment, Shaw. I have brought you to propose a wager."

He smiled and rubbed his hands together, "I always love a good bet. What is it?"

"We fight and the one who loses will owe the other a favor," I proposed.

"Any favor?"

"Any favor," I confirmed confidently.

"Alright then. When do we start?" He asked as he rolled up his sleeves and removed his glasses.

"Whenever you want to," I smirked.

"You are quite confident in your abilities," he admitted. "But, will you be able to beat me?" He charged towards me in incredible speed and sent a punch aimed at my gut. Being trained in martial arts in Kamar Taj, I blocked his attack with ease.

The moment I blocked his attack, I felt myself get stronger as my hand absorbed the kinetic force behind his punch. "Damn, I have to say your powers are amazing," I complimented him. The dude wasn't holding back. If I hadn't copied his power, I would have been sent flying away even with wolverine's strength.

He looked on in shock as I kept absorbing every single punch he sent my way. Frowning, he sent a a wave of concentrated energy which I absorbed with a grin on my face. "You done?" I asked.

He narrowed his eyed and asked, "The mirror dimension... does it allow you to copy- or rather mirror- a person's powers?"

"Yeah. It's pretty handy, right?" I answered, intentionally letting him keep the impression that I possessed his powers due to the mirror dimension. I ran towards him as well. I felt strong, stronger than I had ever felt. Each hit I took only powered me further. I kept hitting him back, powering him up. For a while we just duked it out, our bodies continuously giving and receiving energy.

Our punches connected at the same time. causing both of our arms to thrum and vibrate from the exchange of energy. Neither of us was even slightly tire and kept fighting. Our surroundings in the mirror dimension was in ruins as we exchanged bursts, stretching shockwaves, and even concentrated balls of energy.

The feeling of power flowing into my cells and making them stronger was overwhelming, no wonder it took a while to copy his powers. I could see why Shaw had such a god complex in the movie.

"I have never been pushed so far," Shaw admitted as we stood at a distance from each other after we finally stopped. Not that we were tired, I was just as fresh as I had been when we started. I was sure Shaw was hardly winded either because we had spent a major part of the battle absorbing each other's attacks. "But then again it is to be expected when the one I am fighting has my powers."

"Oh, you think I can't defeat you without using your powers? You do realize I was the one who knocked you unconscious," I scoffed. "I was just enjoying using a new ability against it's original user, nothing more."

"Really? I can't wait to see what else you have hidden up our sleeve," He smirked.

"Oh, you are so going to regret saying that, " I sniggered.

I charged at him once again and kept sweeping away his punches to get closer to him, once close enough I grabbed his shirt and punched his astral form out of his body. His body slumped down as his astral form looked on in surprise, "What the Fuck!"

"Huh, who would have thought that even Sebastian Shaw loses his cool from time to time." I said. "Now do you want to give up on your own or should I make you?" I let out a single claw and scratched his cheek, enough to draw a little blood. Since I was hardly using any force and just like magneto I was able to injure him. His astral form visibly flinched in pain.

His face contorted with displeasure before he exhaled and his expression turned nonchalant, "Fine. I give up. I know when I am beaten."

I shrugged and returned him back into his body. "I had planned this to be a quick in and out operation at first. Unfortunately for me, the one person I was really looking forward to meet hadn't arrived yet. And teaching a Nazi a lesson seemed like the right thing to do."

"I am not a Nazi-" he tried to disagree but I cut him off

"I don't care what you think of yourself. What I need from you is of utmost importance for the survival of our race," I told him in the most serious voice I could muster. "In a few days, months, or maybe even next year, a boy will be brought to Auschwitz along with his parents. He is vital for the survival of our species. You will do him no harm, neither directly nor indirectly. You will ensure he and his parents are kept safe and sound, and you will contact me through the means provided by me as soon as you find this boy."

"That's a lot of favors for losing a single fight," Shaw pointed out.

"Need I remind you that I can kill you? Plus, I am sure a supremacist like you would love to take care of one of the strongest meta-humans in the future," I said before removing a papyrus from my bag.

I handed it over to him. "What is this?" he questioned as he studied the papyrus.

"It's a contract. Don't try to read it, you probably don't know the language. My earlier rant was just me reading over some of the details of the contract," I answered in impatiently.

"This feels an awful a lot like signing over my soul to the devil... How do I know you aren't going to kill me after I adhere to my part of the deal?"

I sighed. "You see that signature in blue ink?" I pointed at a signature on the bottom of the papyrus. "That will ensure that I won't kill you. Also, you have no other choice if you want to live. Sign next to it and drop a little of your blood over it."

Shaw begrudgingly signed with gritted teeth and dripped blood over his signature from the scratch I had made with my claw. He handed the contract over and I placed it safely within my bag.

"Well this little contract will make sure that you do not mess up the future. If you try too hard to break your oath... you will die and I will know," I disclosed the properties of the papyrus. "Oh, I forgot to mention his name, right? The boy you have to look out for is Erik Lehnsherr."
