The End, part 2

As the bright light disappeared, the satellites and GPS cameras all around the globe focused on the Seychelles region. The interference of the ultra-magnets had now vanished around the area, so everyone could see what was happening in this unknown corner of the globe now.

The explosions ended and dust and smoke began clearing themselves. All the elites around the world were still focusing to see what really happened in this region. Everyone held their breath for  anything worse to happen. As the tense situation continued surrounding cleared itself slowly. What appeared next was a broken and run down island with not even half of it remaining.

The former tranquilizing and green island was now a dilapidated self of its former beauty. Not a single complete thing could be seen at sight in the deadly night. Yet the devastated island seemed to have a charm of  its own, as it mesmerized the eyes of anyone who glazed at it. The full moon in the night sky was shining more brightly, seemingly complementing the destruction. The night had become so silent that it seemed to be to have engulfed all the surrounding noises.

As the night arrived at its deepest, a metallic head rose slowly and silently from the deep glittering and clear ocean waters. Its destination seemed to be the shore of the island. As it approached the shore, it grew bigger and bigger, finally turning into a giant submarine as it reached the shore.

As the submarine's hatch opened itself, 10 men with black streamlined uniforms like the previous ones immediately poured out one by one. They seemed to be from some army as they systematically brought out various equipment and instruments and then began to set them up near the shore. Two to three makeshift tents could be seen being built immediately. After about 5 minutes, a person with a thick built, deep black eyes, who seemed like the leader undocked at last . He appeared to be the Commander- in- Chief from the visible dog tag on his chest, along with the name ALBERT CROWDER.

After landing on the island, he immediately asked one of his trusted aides

"How's the situation? Is the area safe?? That seemed like a small nuclear blast. Is this area's radiation under normal conditions? And compile a report immediately."

"Yes sir , initial scouting and testing completed. We have the reports. But … ", a blonde man named Roland replied, handing a violet colored pentagonal cube to the Commander. The cube contained digitized reports and was called 'the Information Cube'. It was the new technique of information sharing in the 30th century.

"Hmm? But what?"

Ronald hesitantly continued, "Sir the island has no hike in radiation reading. The radiation level is… also within the safety limit. We can only conclude that the blast was either non-radioactive for the environment or ..."

"Or what?"

"Or never aimed at the island itself. It was just  the aftermath of the explosion, giving out only thermal energy and shockwaves. We also inferred that maybe the island has its own defense mechanism against such attacks. Otherwise from the magnitude of the estimated explosion, there should not have been an island anymore. But Sir, these are only the initial assumptions. We've to perform further tests to validate our theories and infer more data.", the blonde man said nervously, thinking that it may irritate the leader.

"..."

"..."

"Sigh! Kiel even now you continue to create troubles for us, or in your vocabulary, create challenges right?", the man seemed to be reminiscing about the past, as he appeared to be in a daze for some time, with a slight smirk on his face.

As Ronald looked up, he saw the leader in a daze mumbling to himself.

"Sir..."

"Oh no nothing. Go on continue your work. I'll deliver the reports to the council." Waking up from his daze, Albert ordered.

"Sir. Yes Sir."

Ronald ran to continue his duties.

Holding on to the information cube, Albert then walked into one of the makeshift camps made for him and entered it. There was a small table in the middle of the tent with two chairs surrounding it. On the small table was kept an indigo colored cube similar to the violet cube Albert was holding. But this one had only four edges.

Tapping the centre of the  cube, indigo light converged immediately, presenting an indigo colored hologram, with a bear shaped man in it. This cube was also one of the cutting edge technologies of the present world, 'The Hollow cube' used for communication.

Watching the hologram come into view, Albert saluted to it.

"Commander-in-chief Albert, what's the situation there. And how are the initial studies?", the hologram asked. This man was the same Swallow of the world council.

Albert took out his Information cube and tapped it at the right side of the Hollow Cube. The two cubes glowed simultaneously in conjecture with each other. Then after a few moments the two cube dimmed and Albert took back the violet colored cube back and placed it elsewhere.

"Sir as you all can see, we cannot get any  definite information through initial scoutings. More tests need to be conducted for further results..."

"Well I understand... It's seems like he's playing with us even after death, isn't he!", the hologram smirked.

"..."

"Sigh! What's about the lab? Any clue about that?"

"Sir we are trying. The surface facility of the lab is still salvageable. But the elevator to the underground facility is totally ruined. The rocks and soil have completed buried the underground facility. We estimate that within a week the underground facility can be excavated."

"Roger. Keep up the good work. We want some results to appease the leaders. They have become restless lately."

Then the hologram disappeared and the cube dimmed down. A long sigh could be heard from the outside in the silent night.

After 2 days

January  02 2200, 8:15

Albert woke up from his sleep, did his daily activities and then had his breakfast in his tent. After that he went to his subordinates and asked about the daily report.

"Sir  the atmosphere here is really strange. The environment seems to be self repairing itself. Although very slowly it is still visible more clearly inside the facility.."

"...Well then explain yourself more clearly and … in simple terms"

" Yes Sir, as we know from the preliminary tests- the radiation levels are normal, there are no ionization effect on the surroundings gaseous atoms which would indicate a nuclear explosion to correspond to the  magnitude of the explosion that occurred two nights before.

There were no evidences of EMP pulses too, which would occur because of a nuclear explosion. All the cameras and weapons in the island previously installed, are still functional although damaged.

There was only the  shockwave and the heat and light energy signatures to relate to the explosion's magnitude, which led to the destruction of the island  and its flora and fauna. Hence, we were under the assumption of no nuclear explosions but high kinetic energy detonations.

But there were no  known records of such weapon usages. And as we also  know that Dr. Kiel was never interested in making weapons..."

"Stop… I've been hearing this every day. Tell me something I don't  know already."

"Yes Sir… yesterday when we were clearing the elevator, at about one km below the surface, the radiation level started increasing. And as the distance increased, the increase in radiation level became almost exponential. The ionisation readings of gases were also similar.

We couldn't tolerate moving further even with proper equipment. It was like something stopping the energy from expanding and concentrating it there."

"I've heard this too. If there's nothing new I'll be going."

"Sir please wait. Please let me explain properly..."

"Fine. Go on but you only have one minute."

"Yes sir thank you. As I was saying… today when we checked the  readings, there was a relatively sharp decrease in radiation and ionisation level. We found it strange too. So we rechecked it using different instruments, but the results were still the same. Considering the present conditions, and after some calculations, we estimate than within a year the radiation level here will come under normal conditions too. It.. it is a miracle discovery. It is  like the environment is self repairing itself… little like the energiser domes all over the world which purifies the atmosphere. But this one here is on another level." The further he explained, the fervent his expressions became.

"Anything else? If not then hand over the reports. I'll inform the superiors about this."

"Yes sir. We estimate if we are provided the latest equipments from our HQ, we can enter the facility after 5  more days."

"Good. I'll inform them about this too."

After taking the Information cube from his subordinate, Albert disappeared into his tent.

After 5 days

Albert with his bunch of subordinates, wearing heavy equipments were standing beside a big hole,  which was previously considered as the facility's elevator.

"Can we enter it now?"

"Yes sir we can."

With a cheeky grin Albert declared, "Very good, my subordinates lets roll on.", he slid the rope going down with his hands and then jumped down.

"..." Everyone was stunned seeing the antics of their leader.

"Sir's chunni disease is appearing again.." Ronald mumbled.

Then he too climbed down followed by others.

As they entered the underground facility, Albert expression became grave. He strodded carefully forward and ordered, "Scan for anything useful and then inform me. I'll take a look at the main facility."

"Sir, yes sir." everyone replied and then scattered in their groups to search the entire underground facility.

well this chapter is more like outlining what really happened. Hope it cleared some of the questions on who is the mc and how his personality is. Well if you still didn't understand who is the mc, then wait for the suspense to be over.

And yes Kiel is Dr. K.

And if you all think story is slow paced, it is because I want to describe every inch of MC's journey, so that you all can better connect with him. Thats all

Hope you all enjoy it. Enjoy reading it so later you all can support me.??
