It Was Just A Joke

Lilian Mo spoke up. "It's fine, we know and we're prepared to hand it over."

With that said, everyone gathered their bags together and divided the contents. They handed over 1/10 of their supplies which made Lu Yi smile. He couldn't help but sigh with relief.

It was good that they didn't fuss over this matter. In the past few weeks, everytime the survivors heard that they would have to hand over 1/10 of their supplies, their faces wouldn't look good as if the military was robbing them of their wealth.

This group's supplies were not that bad. In fact, they could be considered well-off for a group of young people. He did not doubt that there were ability users among them especially since he noticed that they were carrying weapons. He even noticed a little girl with a katana strapped on their back.

Really, it was such a bizarre sight that he would only see during troubled times like this. At that moment, Lu Yi felt a bit of pity for these children. They were only teenagers. At their age, they should be going to school and studying to get a diploma.

However, they could no longer experience that kind of thing anymore. Lu Yi was a little emotional. He has always had a soft spot for children so he was especially kind to young people.

After handing over the supplies, they all entered the base and walked on foot to the inspection area. Although they have officially been accepted inside, undergoing a full body check was still a must in case anyone was bitten or infected. Mutants are very much like the zombies in the movies wherein once bitten, you would turn into them. However, this was extremely rare since any victim was either eaten or killed.

Additionally, in most cases, the bitten victim would simply die because they were unable to adapt to the mutated cells invading their body.

The inspection was a precautionary measure to ensure that those who were bitten would not mix in with those who were infected. There were a lot of stubborn people who would not leave their bitten family members behind which was why the military was extremely strict with the procedures in order to avoid any deaths resulting from these kinds of situations.

The inspection required a full body check-up in which they would have to strip their clothes. The males were separated from the females. Male officers handled the males and female officers handled the females to avoid any vile things from happening.

Both Mizuki Rei and Fu Yangzhu were extremely vain and proud people. Stripping in front of their friends and brothers was fine but in front of other people? This was something that they felt uncomfortable doing.

"No, no. I am saving myself for Qingqing! I can't... I'd rather not go!"

"This Laozi won't agree to this! No one is qualified to do see this Laozi's body!"

"I'm really sorry about this." Mu Qianmo apologized to Lu Yi before forcefully dragging Mizuki Rei and Fu Yangzhu to the inspection booth for males.

"No! Brother Qian!"

"No way! No way!!! I won't agree to this!"

"Momo, do we really have to.." Mu Qingqing was embarrassed. For a young girl like her who had been coddled, she could not imagine stripping in front of other people.

"Big sister Mo, are you going to agree with this?" Lin Jiaojiao felt her palms sweating. Not only her palms, but her whole body was sweating. Her lips trembled as she spoke.

Lilian Mo rubbed the girl's head. "Don't worry. I'll accompany you. If you're scared, you can hold my..." Before she could finish, she was grabbed tightly.

"..hand."

Lilian Mo was very patient. She understood that the girls were bothered by this and unlike her, who no longer care about nudity, they were still bound by principles. Most of all, Lin Jiaojiao was probably the one who was most uncomfortable with this procedure because of what the girl had experienced before.

Nathan Yang covered his mouth as he secretly smiled. He leaned over to Lu Yi and whispered something.

Lu Yi's face changed. "I see. Okay, I understand." Lu Yi ran up to call for Mu Qianmo and the others.

Both Mizuki Rei and Fu Yangzhu were causing a bit of commotion which greatly annoyed many people.

"Who dares touch me! I'll strangle you to death!" Fu Yangzhu's eyes were vicious. When under a stressful situation, a person could muster the ability to force their body beyond its limits. Numerous vines with thick thorns surrounded Fu Yangzhu, warning the other people to back off.

Mizuki Rei was just as evasive. He moved fast with the aid of the wind and was evading capture from people.

"I'll fxcking dice you to pieces, I dare you to come over!" He shouted just as fiercely.

Lu Yi who saw this glanced at Nathan Yang with an expression that says, 'This is your fault.'

Nathan Yang's smile fell. He cleared his throat and looked at the girls.

"Ha, it was just a joke. You don't have to strip since you're all with me."

Lilian Mo threw a punch to his face.
