Jörmungandr.

This test was not just a test; it was a lesson. But what did it teach him? He saw people he killed; they were not important or unique, the only thing they had in common was that they died by his hand.

The mouth reverted to the Eye. It's stare pierced through Marcus; he knew it could see everything. It saw his every thought.

Not knowing what to do Marcus remained silent. Not being able to look at the Eye he closed his eyes.

Opening them, the scenery changed. He was back at the Hundred Temples city. The fight was long over; people were moving the bodies of the people he killed. Many of them were in tears.

His body was that of a child, looking at the corps of... his father. He felt sadness and anger swelling inside him. In his mind need of revenge was blooming.

He was determined to find the killer of his father. He was still weak, but with the cultivation technique he found in some old ruins he will get his revenge.

With tears, flowing down his cheeks, he closed his eyes.

Marcus was in an old house. He was on the floor, cleaning up blood, his blood. His hands were those of a woman. Looking up, he saw a man looking at him. With a sneer on his face, he walked by him, kicking him in the stomach while doing so.

He hated this man, and to get revenge he was willing to make a deal with some shady gang. While talking with them, it went awry. In the end, she was saved be somone.

The only hope she has now is her daughter. She had great talent in cultivation. And sooner or later she will take revenge in her stead. She has to endure for now. They have to endure. She closed her eyes to regain her calm.

Opening his eyes, Marcus saw the Eye. It didn't have to ask again, he already knows the question. But what is the answer?

The two later visions were connected to the previous two visions.

In the first one, he wanted revenge... against himself for killing his father. In the second one, he planned to get revenge, to use his daughter.

This was because he killed. He killed that kids father, if, he only wounded him, he would be at most worried, but now he has someone chasing him.

Maybe instead of killing all of the attackers, he would only catch them, the women would ask for his help, instead of running away in fear. Now her daughter has to bear the burden of revenge.

Revenge. It is what driven Marcus up to this point. Revenge made him leave his clan. Revenge made him slaughter so many people in the Hundred Temples city. Revenge made him not care about others life and kill these thugs in the Capital city.

But was it wrong? Was killing the Second Young Master back in that forest right? At that point, he was strong enough to not kill him.

Fighting that old man, did he had to kill him at the end? If he didn't, the old guy would surely come back, if not him someone in his place.

But did he need to kill all of the people around him? With a little less power he would be able to make them faint.

He still remembers how that boy felt, he felt the same when... she died.

If he is supposed to kill every one of his enemy's, is he supposed to go back to Hundred Temples city to kill that child? That child will try to find me. Try to kill me.

I think I start to understand.

But it will take time, months maybe years before he can find his answer.

Looking around Marcus realized that the Eye was gone and he was back at the 'Black Whale.' In front of him was the shop owner, smiling, and in his hand was a dagger.

"What are you staring for? You can go now."

Marcus had no idea what is going on. Did he pass? He has the dagger in his hand, then he did?

Absentmindedly he walked out off the shop. Looking back, the shop owner was gone. What is this place? What does it have to do with Mr.Ethan? Who is the shop owner?

Marcus wanted to know answers, but he was not strong enough to ask for them yet. When he becomes stronger, he will come back here. At that time he will get his answers.

Looking at the dagger, Marcus felt a connection being made. He felt that he can control it. Surprising his desire to do so, he went back to the Academy.

Back in his room, he held the dagger. He could feel it, it was as he suddenly got a third hand. He knew what it can do, how to use it, how to make it stronger.

Injecting some energy into the dagger, he was able to it without the energy changing into lightning. Marcus focused and made the Daggers blade to grow longer. With little to no effort, it became the size of a sword.

"Jörmungandr..."

He knew its name. As if he always knew it. Saying it, he could feel the snake on the handle move. Feeling a sharp pain in his palm, he put the dagger into his storage ring. On his palm was an imprint, same as the one on the handle.

Even though the Jörmungandr was in the storage ring, he felt a connection with it. He could summon it at any time, no matter where it was, it will always come to back to his hand if he wishes to.

Holding Jörmungandr in his hand, he knew that this weapon was... extraordinary. He can use it in many ways, and with the ability to change its size he can use it as a sword, and if he extends its handle, it can be a spear. Possibilities were limitless. With the ability that allows it to come back to him at any moment, he can make surprise attacks that none will be able to defend against.

But he should first learn how to fight with a weapon...
