They started with simple meditation.
The only complication was that Rui insisted whatever Zai learned, she wanted to learn too. Given Zai was in no condition to train her properly, Amri accepted this without argument and together they all got to work.
Zai found an extraordinary amount of pain waiting for her when she tried to touch her qi foundation. After a few sessions, she discovered the pain didn't cause any actual harm, and so she was able to work through it.
She found herself hesitating a lot when she physically exercised while activating her qi, but slowly was able to reach a place where it felt less stiff and more capable of doing what Amri needed.
