My Long Awaited Birthday

Well after being punished by my mother, I was just exhausted by nonstop lessons everyday. At first I could only complain about in my head but then all those training sessions just made me stronger that I could match our general (uncle nick mother's personal bodyguard and my trainer) who was a sword grandmaster. At first I will always get beaten up, he never went easy on me which only made me angry. But that was one of the reasons I enjoyed our time. And to be honest I liked him, he was handsome and a Duke and rich. I just couldn't understand why mother never accepted his love. He loved my mother since they were young. He was the son of my grandfather's dear friend and was his only disciple. This just showed how much he was capable of. But even after growing up together, I think mother only thought of him as a brother. Well I can't understand love and especially of my mother's. How can she still have feelings for my father even after he abandoned her. She really is a love struck. If I was in her place, I would have abandoned the man before he could do that After all my pride is bigger. Hehe. Maybe that's the reason why I had never fallen in love with someone in my previous life. But again I can't judge someone and especially my mother. There must be a reason for a this. But agian uncle Nicholas (nickname nick) is quite pitiful. He should move on. So I decided to ask him. Because my curiosity got over me.

"Uncle, after my birthday we will go back to the main palace, what will you do then?"

He seemed surprised but answered naturally I will follow our lovely princess. Or you don't want me to go with you and enjoy all by yourself.

I laughed and said, "no, no uncle, how can I not want you to go with us. I was just thinking that maybe you have to go to take of your territory. After all you're a Duke".

"You don't need to worry I'm not going and your training will only get more tougher. Haha".

I could only pity my future self. Ha....

Preparations for my birthday was going smoothly. For the first time, I saw my mother this happy. Since she could hold the ceremony in the Great hall. But she was super busy as well. Ans seeing me work hard, she gave me permission to go to the forbidden forest. Ever month, I had a day off. And I would go to the forbidden forest but with guards. But that was not the problem for me. I just used the mist of forest as a way to confuse them and put some sleeping spell. And then I would go to see my brother. In just a few exchanges we got closer. He would innocently me tell the stories of main palace. And I would listen to him. He was just too cute. Just how he resembled me a bit. How his eyes shown when he would tell me about our younger sister. How he got reprimanded by his mother. But his words would tell me how much he loved his mother. And on our last meeting he gave me my birthday gift saying that he would not be able to make it for the ceremony since he is younger. It was a beautiful silver colored pendant in crescent shape. It shone in the dark. It was breathtaking. I thanked my brother and expressed my gratitude by giving him a kiss on his cheeks. He blushed like a little girl and even his neck was red with his face which was quite a sight to be hold. And I wanted to tease him a bit more. But the time was running out. So I just hugged him and parted ways. The only reason I was excited to go to the main palace because I wanted to live with my siblings. It would be fun to have them around.

I woke up this morning even before dawn, just like everyday. But today was different because it was my birthday. I had not to attend my lessons today. My happiness disappeared when my maids started the preparation and was taken to the royal cathedral. I had to take bath in the holy chamber. It will clear out all the impurities. I like taking baths but four hours bath was not something could do easily. After four hours, I was allowed to go out. But then a priest came to me and took me to the praying chamber. I was exhausted but I had to pray to God Aurelius for his blessing or so... I just didn't know what to ask for. I don't have much faith in them. Even though I'm their descendant. Since the priest was with me, I could only pretend to be praying but l only wished for one thing and that was to spend my life with my mother happily. I didn't want more than this. After six hours, we came out of the chamber. I was accompanied by my maids to my room, where I had to dress up. After everything said and done, I could not understand these rituals.

I mean, it's not like I'm getting married or something but I had to go through all this. Royals and their annoying custom. I just hope I don't do them again. The problem was that I had to all this on an empty stomach. And had to endure this until the ceremony was over. It took me four hours to get ready. After all that fuss, I had to admit I was looking gorgeous and so pure. That I couldn't believe my eyes. My color just became translucent. That bath had something in it. Must be a secret beauty portion. I wore a golden dress which looked good with my blonde hair. The gown was adorned with diamonds but it did not look over or something. It was just simple but had class at the same time. The hem of the skirt reached till ground. It was adorned with gold dust so it illuminated a dim.golden light. My mother's taste was good. I was satisfied with my looks.

But after the dress up, I was left alone in my room. It was boring. I wanted to meet my grandpa and mother also did not show up. She would always come to wish me. But she didn't come this morning. I was quite disappointed. But she must be busy. I should wait like a good daughter. So I waited but time passed slowly. But I could do that. So I slipped out of my room through the secret pathway. No one knew about them. One time I just stumbled on them. Oh lucky me tehe...

I just used one of the paths and ended up in the flower fields of my mother's garden. Since these paths are dusty, I used spell to counter all that dust. The smell of fresh air was delicious and there I saw something that I could not forget for all eternity...
