(Was going to post this yesterday in celebration of my birthday but I was surprised with a dnd oneshot and got distracted. So happy late birthday!)
Walking out the house as to start another day work stepped a man in a police uniform. However upon locking his door and turning around his eyes caught something. A speck of bright blue marred by touches of dark red shining bright in the overcast morning light.
Having not seen anything the night prior he walked to the almost shining blue poking over the small embankment. As he approached he saw more of the figure and picked up his pace. "Hey are you ok!" The man called out as he crouched beside the fallen boy no older than his own daughter.
Looking at the boy his mostly bare body covered in blood and gashes. The only clothing on his body being a pair of black pants. His blue hair and oddly luminously pale skin bright in the dark environment despite having blood on it. Reaching out Charlie felt for a pulse and sighed in relief as he felt a strong pulse and great warmth from his body.
Flipping on his shoulder radio as he spoke. "Dispatch this is Chief Swan reporting in, I need ambulance at my house ASAP I have a heavily injured boy outside unconscious by my house." His voice coming out smooth and practiced as he ran to get the first aid out the back of his cruiser.
Getting back to the side of fallen boy he opened the kit and started checking him as a voice replied after a moment. "Dispatch to Chief Swan the ambulance is on the way and should be there within 15 minutes. What is the status of the victim."

Hours later in the Forks community hospital on a hospital bed Cain's eyelids fluttered as he slowly awoke. Pain shot through his body as he tried to move. "Ugh." His groan startling the near by man looking through his charts. "Hello I am Dr. Cullen, how are you feeling? Do you know how you got here?" Cain slowly sat up wincing as he did so. Dr. Cullen adjusting the bed as he does so.
"Just like I've been through a cheese grater other than that I'm fine." A small smile gracing his lips as he remembers the rain of bullets and the security that tried to stop his escape. "The last thing i remember is exiting the woods and falling then I woke up here." Looking up Cain took in his surroundings.
He was in a pretty small standard hospital room. He was hooked up to the standard set up and the only other person in the room was the doctor. As he was looking around his nose twitched as the strong smell of the hospital hit him and another strange sweet smell that seemed to come from the man before him.
As Dr. Cullen checked his injuries he spoke. "That sounds about right Police Chief Swan found you passed out across from his house gravely injured. It's a miracle you are even alive with how many injuries you have thankfully they had stopped bleeding. I'll go get him so he can ask you some questions since you seem healthy enough to answer some questions despite the circumstances."
Standing up he exited the room only to return not long after fallowed by two officers. One of the officers was a decently tall slim man with a glorious mustache and short curly brown hair. By his side was a portly man with slightly long hair in a similar outfit but obviously of a lesser position to the prior.
"Hello young man I am Chief Swan and this here is my Deputy Mark, you gave me one hell of a morning. Glad to see you doing better." The mustached man spoke trying to lighten the mood but was obviously not good at it. "About as good as I can do given the circumstances." Cain spoke with a wry smile.
The gears in his head turning trying to figure out what to and not to say. Like hell he could tell them he ran more than a few hundred miles as a giant fox after escaping a lab. That is a one way trip to a asylum if he ever heard of one. "Ya I woke up in the woods like this and just kept moving looking for help. It was a haze I have no clue how long I wandered for. The last thing I remember before that I was exploring Europe with my family then it all went black."
Cain faked a headache as he held his head really wincing from the cuts on his body. This was the best he could think of on the spot. As stupid as he sounded there is no real explanation as to how he got from France to what he could only assume is the US from the use of English and lack of accents of the people around him.
They all frowned at his explanation. It sounded ridiculous. Despite the young man's stature and face it was easy to tell he couldn't be that old how could he appear halfway across the world from where he last remembered. "That sounds hard to believe. Can we get your name and any other information you can remember for us to check."
Cain was relaxed somewhat hopefully things would go smoothly because he really did disappear a few months ago. There shouldn't be any more records about him unless the guys that sold him were stupid. Don't get him wrong he would want to report everything if it didn't make him sound bat shit insane, plus he basically burnt everything on his escape so he should be safe from investigation.
"My name is Cain Fennix…"

Carlisle's pov
I got a call early this morning from the hospital that there was a heavily injured patient coming in. A young man with vibrant blue hair covered in obviously quick bandaging. Going into surgery I discovered most of his wounds were starting to close but would obviously still take a while to heal.
Judging from the amount of healing he has been injured for quite a number of days already. But that raised a major question as none of the wounds show signs of being even poorly cared for. There is quite the possibility he isn't human based of this and his scent. His smell reminds me of the forest and emanates from him instead of because of his circumstances.
But… what is he? I've never encountered something similar.

After sometime The officers came back into Cain's room with ugly faces. The results turned up as Cain said. The last time he whereabouts were known was in France where he was reported missing by his parents 6 months ago. Although technology was still lacking some it wasn't to the point of someone arriving halfway across the world legally going undetected.
"Your story checks out. You must of had a hard time." Charlie's face turning into a grimace imagining if something similar happened to his daughter. "Unfortunately not everything is going to end well in the end." He sighed as he sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm sorry to say your parents appeared to have passed away in a accident not long ago." Despite not knowing this boy Charlie couldn't help but be sad for him.
In response Cain's reaction was to be expected as his eyes widened before his normally bright eyes dimmed. Tears formed in his eyes as he looked down. He was so excited to finally be free and see his family again but now he didn't even have a home to return to. His hands clenched what was the point of even escaping and going through all that pain.
If he just stayed there he could go on believing his parents were at home worried about him. Now he suffered for tortures for 6 months, got turned in to a 'monster' and now he lost his only family. They couldn't even find out that he was safe to ease their worries. He caught a glimpse of heaven before he returned into a new hell.
Cain just lean back on the bed and closed his eyes, the images of his parents flashing through his mind. The times his father took him fishing, his mother's cooking, the smiles on their faces that always welcomed him. He loved them with all his heart and it was just torn to pieces.

It took 2 hours for him to return to himself. By the time he realized his surroundings he was by himself in his room. He had no clue what he was going to do. Should he even return home? Is it even home anymore? A lot of things can happen in half a year.
*knock* *knock*
He was interrupted from his thought by a knock before the door to his room opened. When it opened he was greeted by Dr. Cullen who spoke. "How are you feeling?" Cain just stared at him for a moment before he replied. "Physically fine I guess, but otherwise not so much." His eyes drifting downward as he was reminded of what happened.
"I won't try to imagine what you are going through. I'm sure it was all very fast for you. But the only thing to be done is to just take one step at a time till you can run free again. I'm sure they would just want you to be safe and happy no matter what." Hearing Carlisle a small smile graced his lips as pain traced his eyes as he could imagine them saying so.
"Ya that's exactly what they would want I've heard something similar enough from them to know." A silence fell between them before Carlisle broke it. "You should be good as new within the week at the rate your wounds are healing" Cain's body froze for a second before nodding and not meeting the doctors gaze.
