Chapter 18

"Ugh" Enel grunted as he moved his body around just to feel his wounds again.

"Yo!" Enel looked around to see Vox smiling at him.

"So this is how I die..." Enel said unwillingly, how can he accept to die? His mother needs him still. But what can he do? he was wounded and could barely move. once his would reopen he will probably die.

"That depends, do you want to die?" Vox smiled at him.

"Who are you." Enel just realized that the man standing in front of him(Vox) had no wings.

"My name is Vox and you are?"

"Enel."

"Well Enel, let me give you an option." Vox asked then took out the devil fruit from his backpack, The fruit was in the shape of a Kiwi, it was grayish black in color with the weird lines like any other devil fruits on it.

"Eat this if you want to life, don't if you want to die." Vox smiled and threw the fruit next to him. He then stood up and walked towards the exit speaking. "You have 1 week to recover if you decide to eat it, after that I will not protect your mother anymore."

"How do you know about my mother!" Enel shouted as he struggled to stand up.

"That is not important, what is important however is the fact that if not for my subordinate, she would already be dead." Vox walked out of his view, and sentence could be heard throughout the whole cave. "1 week Enel, not a second more." with a zap Vox dissapeared from the cave, leaving behind Enel. Who was looking at the fruit before him and the spot Vox disappeared into.

Although he was cautious of whatever this fruit may be, he had to recover in a week! 'If he really wanted me dead, he did not have to use such a roundabout way.' determined, Enel took a bite of the fruit and reluctantly ate all of it.

"Did he want me to die from this taste! He almost achieved it too!" Cursing Vox and the weird fruit he just ate, Enel had a weird feeling that his body was different and that he somehow could do thinks he could not before.

The arrow in his shoulder fell out as if it was inside air itself and not his body. Closing his eyes, he focused on the changes of his body.

Outside an old house, Vox zapped into existence, in front of him he saw Nanobreaker sitting down with her sword stuck in the ground. In front of her were dozens of Birkans dead. She herself was also wounded but not much.

(A/N: yea, he will be zapping around, so that it is not mistaken with Light Light Fruit, it won't be flashed.)

When she saw how Vox zapped there, she struggled on her feet and did a slight bow.

"You did good, go and rest." Vox put her in card form and sent her to the deck, all monster cards retain damage, but they heal incredibly fast in the deck, even if they are losing limbs or close to death, as long as they are alive and put into the deck, they will heal back up. Depending on the wounds, the duration can be longer or shorter.

Looking at the bodies on the ground, he decided to leave them here.

He could have healed Enel back there to be fair, but Vox did not want to for 2 reasons. He did not want to waste a healing spell card on Enel and he wanted for Enel to feel thankful to him.

During his stal- covert operation, Vox learned a lot about Enel and his behavior. But one point was made very clear. His mother is in higher regards in his heart than anything else.

If someone would give him a choice between him and his mother's life, he would take his own life to safe hers. And Vox was aware. For that reason he went to protect his mother for a week, so that Enel feels more thankful and will join him without much trouble.

As to how he is sure Enel will heal in one week? he doesn't. If Enel takes longer then he will just stay longer and Enel would be even more thankful. And if he comes back within a week then that means Enel is still going to be thankful. A win/win situation. The bodies outside will also make it look like that he shed a lot of blood to protect his mother, which would make Enel even more thankful and hopefully a loyal follower.

If everything fails despite all that, then whatever. 'If I still fail, then I will just go back home and practice for the next 8 years. That should give me enough time to train my devil fruit to same heights as the admirals.

(A/N: Vox is not really talented as you have figured by now, but that is only if we look at it from the standards of monsters that are the straw hats. It is pretty stupid that someone who was weaker than Arlong would be Kaido's match in just under 3 years. It is unscientific!)

Smiling at his own genius, Vox walked inside the house where an old woman was anxiously looking at him.

"Where is my son!" She walked towards Vox crying.

"Your son is alright aunty, he sent me to protect you until he comes back."

Vox reassured her multiple times until she calmed down and sat on the chair. Vox made some simple dinner for the old woman, then walked outside the house. Where multiple Birkans were looking scared at him. The scene where dozens of dead bodies where cut into pieces really is unappealing and fear inducing. Especially when those bodies belong to people you once knew.

"Now, go back where you came from and I won't hurt you." Vox lazily sat down on a chair outside.

Seeing that the Birkans were not moving, Vox smiled and and pointed his finger the man closest to him. "Bliksemschicht."

A straight line of lighting shot from his finger and pierced through that man's heart, scorching everything in its path, leaving a gaping hole there.

*Plump*

The body fell to the ground leaving a terrified crowd there who were frozen in fear. "I told you to leave, but you didn't listen. Now you will not be able to leave anymore." Standing up from his spot Vox zapped in front of the now closest man to the house. with his finger at the mans head, "Blicksemschicht" and once more a gaping hole was made in another man's body.

"RUN!"

"MONSTER!"

Looking around how the Birkans were fleeing like headless flies, Vox shook his head and zapped to the front if them. this time his leg transformed into lightning "Thor's Toorn!" and slammed it on the ground, which decided into a net of lighting around him and everything the lighting passed through was burned to ashes.

"Oh, one survived." Vox looked at the man who was barely outside his attack's range.

"Neat, with this all all my new moves will be tested in one fight." Vox smiled as he took the blade from his back. "Although the material is not good and will probably melt, it is not a big loss." The blade in his hand became coated in this arcs of lightning. Vox zapped from his spot, appearing before the survivor and cut him in two.

Looking at the now no longer survivor, he could not help but be disappointed. "The material of this weapons are not good. If only I had gotten a sword equip spell card, it would be the best."

Shaking his head, Vox went back to his chair and sat down.

"Now, all we need is wait for Enel to come." 'Maybe I can have a bit of fun later in skypiea, there are a lot of beauties there.' Thinking how he has not had any female partners for the last year and a half he could not help but shake his head.

'Let's first finish up everything at Birka, I wonder what kind of devil fruit it is Enel has now.' Smiling once more Vox sang a song he heard back on earth.

"And another one gone and another one gone, another one bites dust....." In the forest in front if a worn down house, a man was singing and dancing like he was possessed, inside the house an old woman looked at him in worry. 'I will tell Enel to not have crazy people as friends from now on.' the woman thought to herself as she kept looking at the dancing man in worry. Worry that her son was also affected by the same disease.

(A/N: Vox can not dance for shit and his singing is worse than a cat scratching its nail against a chalkboard.)
