Cheating. What the hell. Stephanie wound never cheat on Eric. It was her cousin, Kyle. They had been friends since the beginning of time. Now she was walking down the highway, the highway of Tears. She was alone, cold and now it looked like it was going to rain. she had been accused brutally of cheating on her ex-boyfriend, Eric. She had been sending the texts of, I love you, and Can't wait to see you, to her best friend since forever and cousin Kyle. Kyle was to far away to pick her up and Eric refuse to let her stay even for a few more hours. But she got the last laugh, she had gotten three people to get her closer to Vancouver a whole three hundred and fifty kilometers. She was strong enough to hold her bags for maybe a other thirty minutes. Then she would sit down for a while. Maybe take a nap. She heard a honk and looked up hopefully maybe someone would take pity on her. She saw a Gray SUV. She smiled and began to wave when she was the guy in the SUV was laughing so hard he had snot running down his prickly face.
She frowned and stomped the next few feet then stopped it hurt her feet through the flats she was wearing. A green pick up truck stopped in front of her. She walked up to the door the guy inside the old pick up truck looked like he had melting white wax for a face. His eyes where brown and he had a wooden tooth pick in his mouth.
" Hey, doll face. Need a ride. " The guy said. Stephanie tried not to frown but she was not in the mood for flirty old men with only half there faded and graying brown hair. She tried the door handle but it was locked. She pointed at the door and said.
" The doors locked. " The guys smile faded a little. But he reached over and unlocked the door. Stephanie opened the door and shoved her bag by where her feet would go.
" I'm Ricky. who're you and where we off to. " Ricky said his smile returning to his face. Stephanie turned around the door still wide open.
" I am Stephanie and I need to be as close to Vancouver as possible." She said. The breeze from outside blowing in.
" Nice. We can go there. Why you off to there? " Ricky said with his old man charm. Stephanie smiled a little than turned to close the door.
" So many questions it making me flustered. My cousin is there and I'm going to visit him. " She said looking ahead. She smiled a little more broadly.
"Alright. One last question for you doll face. " Ricky said his wax face falling. " Why a little thing like you put here on the Highway of Tears?" Ricky said concern leaking through his crooked teeth. Anyone smarter than Stephanie would have saw it was fake.
" Oh, my ex-boyfriend kicked me out of the hotel we where staying at." She said frowning a little. Ricky reached a hand over and rested it on her shoulder.
" Why who would ever leave a pretty little thing like you. Don't worried your head off we will be in Vancouver in a few short hours. " Ricky said putting the car in gear. She breathed out slightly like a sigh and Ricky closed his eyes as if in pleasure. A smile even bigger than before was placed there. He opened his eyes and he began to drive off to Vancouver.

She opened her eyes with a start. Stephanie had been dozing like a cat in the sun when a wild turn. stared her out of the peaceful doze. She saw Ricky had made a wild turn off the highway to a rocky road.
" Ricky why'd we leave the highway? " Stephanie said unsmiling. She was for the first time feeling worried something would happen.
" I also have family in Vancouver. I need to pick up a little something for them. " Ricky said not taking his eyes of the road. That reassured her. She saw a little peek of a house in the distance. The sun had nearly set and it was getting dark. I hope the house is not as old as Ricky it might not have a lighting system. She thought as she sat up straighter. She yawned.
" Hey Ricky. Does your house have lights. " She asked as politely as she could manage.
" Yes doll face. Why do you ask. It is the twenty first century." Ricky said with a snort.
They arrived at the house a few seconds later.
