Part 2 : Shadow Man

Kyle put the phone down. God dammit! Really Eric had to kick Stephanie out. Three hours, three hours and he would have been there. He punched the counter. He hated Erin's guts. Stephanie was missing. Missing in action. Bye bye. Gone. Nada. He felt like crying. He had always had a soft heart and he loved Stephanie as his favorite cousin and his best friend. He sighed and felt tears in his eyes. He felt as though this was his fault. He had said that he loved het and she had replied with things like ' I love you too. ' or ' Can't wait to see you!' This was because on the road trip Eric and Stephanie had been taking ended in Vancouver and started at there home town. He sighed loudly and went to the bathroom. He felt a warm weird liquid in his throat. He threw up just before he reached the toilet. He felt lightheaded. Kyle went to the sink and ran the water he splashed it on his face. he groaned and started to cry. As the weak tears went down his face he cried out. Stephanie had been there for him all the time. Every day. When Kyle's mother had died from cancer and when his girlfriend had cheated on him. It wasn't that she had done life changing deeds. It was always the small things that made Stephanie the most important person in his life. The tears came faster and he tries to calm himself down, in a few minutes he did. He looked in the mirror and saw a black smudge. He licked his finger and rubbed the mirror. The smudge did not budge. He scowled. Grabbing a towel of the hook on the door he wet the cloth and put a little liquid soap on the towel and spread the soapy concoction on the mirror. He cleaned the mirror swiftly feeling a little angry and also very sad a glum, like tar running down his back sinking into his back. Then his heart. The smudge still stood strong, he wiped around to see the same smudge out side. The good sized window he had went into his back yard. The smudge looked like a tall man. The man was wearing a suit so black that it made Kyle's eyes hurt. He groaned and yelled.

" Get outta here!" He shouted. The tall man smudge moved a little. Not to get out of his yard he waved his long tentacle like fingers at him. Kyle felt sick in his stomach. He felt fear splash down his back like a bucket of cold water and his heart beat a little faster.

" What the hell... " Kyle said to himself. He grabbed his phone on the toilet seat and was ready to call the cops. But he looked up and saw the man smudge was gone.

" 911 what's you emergency." The operator said on the other side of the phone.

" Ugh... " Kyle groaned in the phone.

" Is everything okay. Are you okay?" The operator said. He snapped back to reality.

" No... I thought I saw someone I'm my back yard it was just a homeless old dog. " He lied into the phone even though he could not see the operators face he felt bad.

" Alright, call if you see it again we will send animal control." The operator said. He hung the phone up without a good bye and sat on the floor. That was so weird. So weird. Maybe he had just been seeing things. So full of grief and fear that his mind had made a man that would have stole Stephanie from him. His best friend. He breathed in deep breaths.

Kyle was having a hard time sleeping. He was still weirded out by that smudge man earlier. He shifted his weight in bed. When he did so he stopped breathing for a second as he looked at the door frame that was supposed to be empty.
