39 Chapter 39

(Warning: I changed a part of the previous chapter. It is a small paragraph concerning the origin of the titans, I recommend reading it. This is the last "filler" chapter or, better said, the explanatory chapters that should present some things that happened in the past and I didn't go deep, and that you should know so that later you don't think that I took them out of nowhere. Remember, not everything should have some deep purpose, but at least it should have a reason).

(POV The protagonist. Time: 110.00 Years After the revenge. Place: A citadel far from the "Old Gods" - Ongoing war between the forces of different "Old Gods").

-It's not exactly the best idea to take on the forces of the "Old Gods" by myself... But it greatly relieves the situation that, despite being alone and surrounded on all sides by enemies, I can still fight without so much trouble. It's all possible thanks to the fact that my enemies fight among themselves, that I can use dark magic to force them to ignore me in case they decide to join or ally against me, and that no "Old God" is present to prevent me from mind-washing power over their troops.

Soon, using the great sword I had created for my humanoid body, I sliced a nearby "N'raqi" in half. Who was then devoured by one of the tentacles on my back.

-I decided to fight again at the same size I was when I first faced the "Old Gods". About 17 meters approximately... I think. The point is that I enjoyed fighting on "equal" against my enemies. It was entertaining and allowed me to learn multiple fighting styles, use of weapons and my favorite, using my hands to destroy my enemies... sometimes brutally.

* Humming

-Since my mental powers allowed me to have all my old memories back, as detailed as if I were present, I hum songs. Although sometimes I find myself singing and humming this song without realizing it... *sigh* I don't know why I like it so much.

* Singing aloud

"Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea."

"Beware," I heard him cry.

His words carried upon the ocean breeze,

As he sank beneath the tide. "

(Spanish)

"Look out! there she goes, she's the daughter of the sea!"

"Watch out!" he trumpeted.

His voice I heard, sounded incessantly

when the sea devoured it.

...

-Although I have also devised some of my own....

* Splash * Splash

*Splash* *Splash*

Slicing and slicing, I trampled under my feet the flesh of my fallen enemies.

*Splash* *Splash*

In my wake there was nothing left, only emptiness.

*Splash

All who perished, I consumed with ease,

*Splash* *Splash*

for none of them from my jaws shall escape.

...

(Time: 112,000 Years after the revenge. Location: Another chaotic and dark battlefield.)

*? humming

-It is interesting how a simple change in my legs can increase my mobility so much. Just by following the idea and understanding how the ostrich from my previous world achieved its speed, I can run and move more agilely than before. Even though I used to be able to run without getting tired anyway, but it's different when I take away all the best elementals from this body. I can only get tired when I get weak on purpose, but the most interesting thing is that the upgrades allow me to run fast, maintain my speed and endurance for a long time... Definitely the ostrich has truly amazing feet.

*Swing

*SHING SHING

I was fighting one of the most powerful "N'raqi" I had seen so far.

-These guys are tougher than the "C'Thraxxi" I faced when the "Old Gods" first came to this world... They are more powerful now. But, even so, most of their power lies in dark magics that involve the mind. Their physical power, despite being superior to those of before, is still weak compared to me...

*Sigh*

"Try harder, and stop using your magic, focus on defense. Your attacks are too weak, they lack strength. If you were more agile and less fat it would be easier for you to fight against me. Your shell is not strong enough to withstand many of my blows, your regeneration will not last. Use all your limbs, you don't take advantage of the potential of the legs you have on your back. Stop looking at me with annoyance, you know clearly that you are only an insect, a toy with which I am entertaining myself momentarily. If you don't show improvement in your defense and attack soon, I will finish you off and move on to someone who does understand the value of my teaching..."

* Clang clang clang clang

"Exactly, defend and attack at the same time. You're not built for high speed combat and maneuverability, but your hind legs are dexterous, durable and sharp, take more advantage of them."

*CLANG

*BOOOM*

"Good, good, you are growing very well under my nutrition. Keep it up and don't stop, if you lose focus you may lose your head. Use those tentacles you have for a face and try to cast some useful spells on me, or summon some creature while we fight."

*Splash Splash Splash Splash

"NO! don't be silly. I said as we fought, don't stand still. Learn to split your mind and focus, harness all your dark potential. At least try to control another "N'raqi" and let him do the work. Your mind control spells are clearly your mastery, you are average at summoning..."

*BOOOOM BOOOOM*

* CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG * CLANG CLANG CLANG * CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG * CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG

"Good, much better, you understand quickly. You are a good student, you have a lot of potential. It's a pity I'm very hungry..."

*Splash Splash

"Increase the pace, this is a test. If you manage to keep me from continuing to consume you with each cut, I will take you as my student, if you fail to survive my hunger, it will be the end of you."

*Splash Splash Splash Splash

"No, no, no. Don't despair, be more patient, use what I teach you."

*BOOOOOM

*CLANG CLANG

*Splash

*Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

*SIGH*

-I guess he couldn't keep his cool. Although maybe my sword is to blame?

I had created weapons for my humanoid form that could devour the flesh of whatever they cut, consume their blood, absorb their magic, and in the process mitigate their regeneration, tire them out, cause them "debuff" effects, prolonged pain, poison them causing bleeding out... overall they seemed more like cursed weapons than anything else. But that was okay, because they were all part of me. I controlled them, just like I control my mouth to chew.

My jaws and teeth changed shape, I no longer needed my tentacles to consume my enemy, my weapons were enough. I grew and changed with the knowledge I had, I experimented and learned even more. It was a little hobby that consumed most of my time when I wasn't fighting and feeding.

*Sigh*

-Experimenting with dark magic to release mental potential does work, but I suppose it has its limits... Clearly their desperation was increasing over time and could explode repeatedly. Maybe if I'm a little more subtle I can get them to resist. Fear and pain are a good teacher, although I suppose it also has a lot to do with the individual I'm influencing... Mmm, yes, the common "N'raqi" are not so smart and the "Aqir" are even worse...

*Sigh*

-Whatever, no leftovers. It's not polite to leave food on the plate.

Look at the place where the previous "candidate for my apprentice" was. There was nothing left of his existence. He had devoured everything, so there would be no return for his existence, he would never revive.

-To continue training with the great sword... I don't understand why I still can't get used to it. In the novels it looked so easy and fun for the main characters to learn how to use it. Even the spear isn't that hard for me... Maybe the spear is easy because of the male gender of this body, *grin*. Yeah, it's probably because of that.

(Time: 175,000 Years after my revenge. Night. Place: Top of some great mountain)

Watching the night sky has always been a good pastime. Not only for me, but for many other humans in my world.

-I really like the silver color of the moon, but I have to combine it with some other color to make it stand out. Mmmm.

Soon I was in deep thought.

-Let's just change the colors until I like one of them.

Under the moonlight a large humanoid figure could be seen, with a scaled body constantly changing color. Soon it turned black, with red between its scales. Its armor turned silver with small golden details. Its eyes were completely black, it possessed black horns and soon something resembling hair emerged from the helmet on its head.

-Mmm, yes, much better.

I watched myself with one of my tentacles.

-I can change the gender of this body. Thanks to the "Old Gods" for their knowledge on this. Although I'm not a big fan of long hair... Maybe something jellyfish style would suit me better?.... No, no, no, no, I'd look too monstrous. Although they would be useful too, but I don't know... Mmmm, yeah, well, I think I'd better make some tentacles hidden under my hair.

The hair was shiny silver and reflected the moonlight.

-All right, now all that remains is to choose the style of my armor....

It wasn't long before I possessed shoulder pads, a kind of gauntlet with hidden blades to strike and stab my enemies, and at the same time would allow me to easily use any other weapon. Armor for my chest and legs. I did everything with the intention of protecting my "weak points". Although losing my legs would slow me down... Some things must be lost to gain others.

-Excellent, I like it that way. As for the cape, well... No cape, just as "Edna Moda" would say.

I nodded to myself.

-With the black, red, silver and gold I'm using I should at least have one more color to counterbalance all the red....

I looked at my great sword and the color changed to a softly glowing blue.

-Now, yes, I am perfect.

(Image of this form, here)

The image portrayed a black humanoid dragon in shining armor, his great sword radiant blue, his white hair blowing in the cold mountain wind and the silver moonlight shining softly over the mountain.

If you looked at the sky, you could make out a large circle of moonlight and a dense layer of dark power clouds that covered the world in darkness. The only mountain that was illuminated, the only brightness in a place occupied by deep darkness.

...

(Time: 175.500 Years after my revenge. Location: Somewhere different with mountains)

I was again practicing flying as an "Ironman".

-I have been able to fly in this iconic way for a long time now, but I am trying to lower the amount of elemental energy I must consume to do so. My weight doesn't help, but it is precisely this difficulty that helps me realize the smallest mistakes that I continually correct, although more always appear and some parts I must totally redo....

*BOOOM*

*SIGH*

-I failed again. Maybe I'm not quite understanding how to do this. Mmmm, but I remember a strange explanation of how "Valstrax" managed to fly using his "jet engine" wings ... It can't be that the logic and science of a fantasy world can't be realized in another fantasy world....

I nodded.

-Then I must start from the biggest to the smallest... Who would have thought it? Start from the most complex and big and then simplify.

*Sigh*

-I've been sighing a lot lately. Anyway, how did the saying go...I think it was something like, "The really hard thing is to make things simple"...very profound words. *laughs*

Pay attention to the process in which I spend elemental energy.

-To generate the fire, the wind helping to increase its intensity, at the same time the water helps to generate steam when in contact with the fire. Then use oxygen as a natural fuel and with the help of the wind release the steam pressure to generate momentum. The earth simply held everything together under the strong heat generated by the fire in tune with the air, the temperature change caused by the flow of water and the steam pressure generated... A process that sounds simple and, in fact, it is. The problem is not that I can fly, it's that I want to spend less and generate more thrust. A less heavy shape would help, but I would have to lose durability. So I must change my shape to adapt and at the same time increase the durability of the ducts through which the vapor pressure exits. Inside me I must also maintain the structure where the fire is continuously fed to generate the whole cycle. If I only use fire, then I would not be harnessing the full potential of my elements in harmony and resonance, generating more momentum with less energy....

*SIGH*

-To summarize, I have to keep my body strong inside and out. If I decrease my durability internally, I could explode. If I do it outside, I could lose my limbs with a few blows... It's not funny. If I don't use my limbs to expel the steam that will propel me, then I must do it through... my ... back. Well I have my answer. I'm pretty goofy sometimes, but I must admit that flying like "Ironman" was fun, even more so when I saw how cool I looked myself when flying.

*Laughter

I smiled amusedly.

-I don't understand why I keep talking to myself as if I were talking to someone else... but sometimes explaining things to myself helps me a lot, as it just happened to me. Hehe, that's funny.

(Time: 333.333Years after my revenge. Place: The first dream).

-I am dreaming after so many years of life... I know I am dreaming because I am in a place that reminds me a lot of earth.

Large buildings with many windows rose up. All carefully designed, with colors like blue and black. Their windows shone in the sunlight. The trees, carefully planted every certain distance, looked beautiful with their colorful flowers.

-At last, some color. *exhale

I smiled at the sight. I started walking through the empty streets and it didn't seem strange that there were no people, because it was a dream. Anything could happen in dreams.

I soon heard something.

"The Void Lords are monstrous entities composed of pure shadow energy that rule the Void, outside the boundaries of reality. Ruthless and cruel beyond imagination, they seek only to twist reality into a realm of eternal torment and ultimately devour all matter, energy and the universe itself. However, only the most powerful of the void lords can manifest in the physical universe, weakened, and only for a limited time, as their energies quickly seep into nothingness. Therefore, they must consume untold amounts of matter and energy to maintain their presence."

(Image of the shadow of a "Lord of the Void", Here)

I looked in surprise at a tent in which 4 figures could be seen. 3 were small children, 2 girls and 1 boy. The last figure was large and somber. From its presence oozed darkness that prevented me from observing its true appearance. But his large horns protruded from the dark figure of his being.

Soon the figure looked at me with even darker eyes and said.

"Mmmm, sorry kids, but I have to go talk to an acquaintance for a moment. I'll be right back, so wait for me to continue with the stories."

"Aaah, well, we'll wait" (A small voice).

"But please hurry, I want to keep listening" (Another small voice).

"Okay, but you should tell us about the demons later, these void lords don't sound like fun at all."

"*Laughter* Sure, I'll tell you about the demons later, so wait for me for a moment."

"Yes!" (all the little voices)

And with one swift, unnatural movement he was in front of me. He had teleported right in front of me.

"Hello, little one, how are you?"

"God, what are you doing here?"

"I'm not "God", but as you prefer. I was telling a story to the children, didn't you hear?"

"Yes I heard, but why is it in my dream?"

"I've always been watching, it's entertaining. I'm here having fun, and besides, how do you think you'll get the reward from the mission I gave you? Didn't you think it was weird that you didn't get your reward? I'm here to deliver it. But since you're here, I'll give you your second mission, little one".

I was momentarily stunned.

"... Have you been on my mind all this time?"

"In fact, I don't have much to be here. Anyway, your second mission will be: 'Survive the presence of the titans and obtain their blessings', so try hard. Failure of this mission will be your death, but I assure you, not at my hands. As for a reward... I won't give you anything this time, unless you do something that will surprise me with the titans. *laugh*"

"What?.... Wait a minute, I understand the mission, but what could 'surprise' you?"

"That you must find out for yourself. By the way, very brave of you to get the dark power while being so weak. *laugh* You make me proud, hehe. Keep up the effort and you might just make it through what's to come in the future."

Soon I watched as his figure began to retreat back into the tent.

"By the way, I recommend you go there."

He stretched out one of his hands and pointed in a direction.

"When you get to the place you'll know it, but you have to make the effort to get there. You'll find something very interesting if you decide to accept my recommendation, if you turn me down, well... I can only wish you luck, little one."

He then teleported back right in front of the 3 children.

"Well children, let's continue."

"Yes!"

"Very well, then. "Demons "or "Dae'mons", "demonesses in feminine" meaning "twisted souls", are immortal beings linked to the "Twisting Nether" or "Endless Void". Most of them feed on magic and life, and delight in inflicting suffering, spreading corruption and destroying all that is good.

Originally, 'demon' is what races born of the Abyssal Void such as Annihilan, Sayaad, Shivan..."

(Races specific to Annihilan, Sayaad, Shivan, Here)

I stared at him momentarily and then followed the direction he pointed me in. I was somewhat stunned by his presence in my dream.

-He... has he always been on my mind? How disturbing.

I totally ignored that issue for the moment and focused solely on walking in the direction he gave me.

-I will trust him.

So I kept moving in that direction without knowing exactly what I was looking for. But, even so, I kept going and going, moving away from the city, although I don't know for how long I continued.

...

Author's Note:

This chapter ends the "Filler" or explanation chapters. I hope you liked it. The next chapter will continue with the arrival of the Titans.

As this is a "Filler" chapter I will only say. "Destroying is something we all can do, but guiding, only the wise". I wish you a great day and a good night. ^^
