True Gap

The moment Xu Yue saw the scenes that had been sent into her mind, her mouth suddenly gaped open, as a surprised look appeared on her face.

Originally, Xu Yue knew that trying to win in this battle against her ancestor would prove pointless, as the sheer difference between their skills levels was like an enormous chasm.

But after fighting against her ancestor a bit, Xu Yue felt as though that difference was not as humongous as she had originally thought.

Sadly though, those thoughts of hers had just been shattered, as she discovered the fact that her ancestor had just used around 40 percent of a normal human, less than half of what Xu Yue herself had just used.

As she simulated what would have happened if she used a similar level of strength in his mind, Xu Yue came to a single conclusion.

She would instantly be defeated by the first strike of her ancestor, which she wouldn't be able to avoid in the slightest.

And even if somehow, she was able to dodge that strike, the next movement of the blade of her ancestor would then swiftly claim her life, not giving her any sort of opportunity to react.

"No ancestor, you mustn't worry," said Xu Yue, denying the claim that this battle had destroyed her mood.

No, in fact it was the opposite, as the chasm between her and her ancestor made Xu Yue feel even more excited.

A moment later, another dull sword appeared in Xu Yue's hands as she reappeared in front of Yang Bing, merely a few minutes away from her.

...

Three years later,

As she looked at the sword that was currently touching her neck, the same as it did every single day, Xu Yue couldn't help but smile.

Originally, Yang Bing had expected Xu Yue to become rather bored with being instantly defeated every single time, but in fact, the opposite was true.

Every single day, every single minute and every single second, Xu Yue kept battling against her ancestor, with the same result every single time.

Every single time Xu Yue and her ancestor fought, Xu Yue would be defeated in less than three seconds, after which, another battle, also three seconds long, would begin.

This is how Xu Yue lived these past three years, constantly fighting against her ancestor, and being defeated every three seconds.

In total, Xu Yue had fought against her ancestor 30,672,542 times, and was defeated the same amount of times.

But even though she had been defeated over thirty million times and had not shown any sort of progress, Xu Yue still felt an extreme amount of satisfaction as she fought against her ancestor, causing her to continue relentlessly.

As she did not have anything important to do in the lower realm, Yang Bing of course bent to the whims of her descendant and kept fighting.

...

27 years later,

As she looked at Xu Yue, who had instantly risen from the ground after being defeated from the three hundred millionth time, Xu Lanfeng, who was just watching from the side, couldn't help but slightly yawn.

But although Xu Yue was being constantly defeated, and had not been able to make any sort of progress, as Yang Bing was still able to defeat her in just 3 seconds using sixty percent the strength of a normal human, Xu Lanfeng could see that Xu Yue was feeling extremely happy.

At the same time, Xu Lanfeng was clearly able to see that Xu Yue had made great progress in these past thirty years, far more than she would have been able to make on her own.

...

270 years later,

3 billion times, this was how much Xu Yue had fought against Yang Bing, and even so, every single battle had the same result.

No matter how much progress Xu Yue seemed to make, how much faster she became, how much stronger her blows became, in the face of Yang Bing's maddening sword skill, all of it was useless.

As such, Xu Yue had not made a single bit of progress in defeating her ancestor, as she was still being defeated in just under three seconds every single time.

....

2700 years later,

As she looked at the sword that was coming towards her, Xu Yue instantly moved her sword to block the strike, but even so, everything that she did was useless, as only a moment later, several other attacks quickly overwhelmed her, knocking her down in just 3 seconds.

Although Xu Yue instantly become ready to fight against her ancestor, this was actually a bit of a milestone, being the 30 billionth defeat that she had faced at the other's hands.

And of course, as it had been before, Xu Yue had still not made any progress in defeating her ancestor, as the other could still easily defeat her, just like at the beginning of their duels.

...

Just as she was about to once again crush her descendant, Yang Bing suddenly raised her head and stared at the sky with an annoyed look on her face.

"Can't you give me a bit more time?" asked Yang Bing whilst letting out a ruthless sword strike, which instantly incapacitated Xu Yue, sending her to the ground.

Even though Yang Bing had used a bit of her Merit so that she could stay in the lower dimension for a bit longer to fight against Xu Yue just a tiny bit more, by now, the Three Thousand Years that the Grand Dao had given to her as a reward from repelling the Apostles had come to an end, making her have to finally depart from the lower dimension.

"I guess this is the end," mumbled Yang Bing as her blunt sword once again struck Xu Yue several times, sending the latter to the floor once again.

...

As she looked at her Ancestor, who was currently disappearing, Xu Yue wanted to speak.

Sadly though, the latter's blunt sword once again struck her, and sent her to the ground without any ability to resist.

And by the time Xu Yue had risen from the ground, a tiny fraction of a moment, Yang Bing was already gone.
