CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

" Shall i have this dance my lady??".

Anne was excited not just because of the indoor rain but because of the fact that she was going to be dancing with the only man she gathered feelings for.

Aside that she was also sad that her gown was ruined because of the rain and that she remembered she had to tell him something important as well.

" Lexy...." she called out while they were dancing.

" shhhhhh..." he said placing his index finger on her lips to keep them shut and drawing her closer to himself.

'Don't ruin the moment.....you have all the time to tell him' she told herself.

Their romantic dance stopped the moment the indoor shower stopped.

Her smile immediately disappeared.

" Don't worry..... there's more " he told her trying to coerce her. He kept holding onto her trying to keep her warm so she doesn't catch a cold from her wet body and clothes.

" You warm??" he asked.

" yes". He lifted her up immediately and carried her to the room he dropped her and noticed her mood changed..

" Someone seemed to enjoy being carried.....i'll carry you all day if thats what you want.....but for now you have to change your clothes so we can go" he said turning to leave.

" Where" she asked grabbing his arm.

" Its a surprise."

" oh common..." she said.

" Surprise...Patience".

" fine.....she said carrying her clothes from the bed and off to the bathroom.

" I can come help you if you want.." he said from the room.

" oh no.... thank you my lord....i think i can help myself". she said from the bathroom causing alex to laugh.

" Come down when You're through.". he turned and left.

" Mary!!" he called the moment he got downstairs. The water on the floor had gone and the place was looking like nothing ever happened there. Mary had a special thing in her that made her so quick and efficient in her work.

" Do u have everything ready.".

" Yes sir".

" in the van ??".

" Yes...sir...".

" Good...Go check up on her and help her if there's a need...". he said to her.

" Okay.."

Alex trusted her enough to even be with his alma. He knew he was sending a responsible woman to look after his alma.

"Anne..." mary called softly from the door before entering her ( anne's ) room. Anne became emotional the moment she set her eyes on mary.

She ran and hugged her like a little child who missed its long gone mother and truly she really thought of mary as a mother figure to her and she knew mary saw her as her daughter so they were like a mother and daughter duo. Anne remembered asking mary on advice on how to seduce a man.....and then all the times they were at home alone they would talk about all things girls would talk about.

" Whats wrong..." Mary asked while anne was shedding tears on her shoulders while they hugged but anne didn't give a reply to her and then she understood that she probably just wanted to let out her emotions....it was her birthday after all and people normally felt emotional on their birthdays so she just kept stroking her hair which was all messed up.

After a few minutes anne regained her self and let go of her motherly figure.

" Happy birthday darling". mary said holding out a little box in front of her.

" Awwnn....you didn't have to "

" What do you mean by that...i had to, its your birthday after all.".

" Whats in it??".

" You'll have to open it first." She handed over the box to anne and she opened it.

little ticks of tears began to form in anne's eyes. She looked at mary and then the shining pearl designed earrings in the box.

" Don't ask me where i got the money from...besides i know how much you love pearls so i just had to get you this"

" They're beautiful....i love it...but i want something else."

" And whats that my lady".

" Firstly you'd Have to stop calling me my lady or stuffs like that...its a bit weird considering the way i see you now...."

" Okay...that all??".

" Nope.....i want to ask you for just a little favour.."

" Am listening".

" Promise you'll accept".

" If its something i can do...then no worries".

" Can i call you mom??" She blurted.

" what". Mary asked clearly surprised

" I really want to have you as my mom...i already see you as my mother....listen.."

she said grabbing her hands.

" You make me feel like i have my mother right beside me....i rarely feel my moms absence when you are around me.....i've always looked for a way to feel that void in my heart for years but you filled it up in just a month...our relationship grows stronger by each passing day and i love it.."

" But.." she protested. Mary wasn't married not to talk of having children so having someone call her mother was a bit strange but it would feel good but also not coming from her employee's fiancee.

" You promised". Anne persisted

" Fine fine fine fine fine.....you can call me mom".

" That means no more formalities right??".

" Right". And they hugged it out.

" Common lets get you ready.....your darling must be waiting". Mary teased.

The dress that mary had picked up was one of the dresses alex had bought for her.

" This looks nice..... put it on " she said.

It was also an off shoulder long sleeved blue dress fitted to accent her curves but this time moderately short and with silver sequels on it. Anne put on the dress and stood in front of her personal mirror in form of mary.

" Beautiful.....it really brings out your eyes" She told her.

" Thank you"

" Put on your shoes and then come over to the dressing table". As instructed she did as she was told and then went over to the dresser to sit so mary could take care of the rest.

Mary was aware of annes dislike for make up so she put only a little on annes face. With just the perfect shades of lip gloss and mascara to pop out her already long lashes, Anne naturally had very long natural hair extending to her arms almost to her hands barely above waist length so mary decided to pin the hair with glittering pins to the back and let it fall, her well sculptured face was now well exposed with a bare neck as well.

Mary applied some perfumes to annes skin since it was that much exposed, after that they decided to accessorise

with a diamond necklace gifted by alex, it was an amazing neck piece that stayed only around her neck and didn't hang over her dress she then decided to add the matching earrings when anne stopped her.

" Mom...."

" Hmm"

" I'll wear the pearl earrings you bought".

" As you wish love". And she did as was requested of her. In no time anne was already set and looking like the most beautiful woman ever walked down stairs to meet the man who awaited her.
