I had died, boom, splat, gone. Just like that, with none of my dreams or aspirations completed, but then I realised something. Why could I still think? And then I realised something else. Why could I open my eyes? Was I alive!? Not only that had I become a Young Master!? --------------------------------------------- For fun, not very serious, read it if you want, its nothing top tier but I hope it can at least be a good time filler for some.

Chapter 3 Who Said I Can't Speak?

"Entering, 3rd Elder Lei Tingfeng!"

"Entering, 2nd Elder Lei Shaoqing!"

"Entering! Clan Head, Lei Xiang!"

An hour later, the 3 of the most important people in the clan had finally made an appearance, or so I assumed. After all I had no true knowledge of the structure of the Clan only my own guesses along with the little information I knew.

After greeting a few people for formality's sake the 3 immediately walked towards where we were sitting. 'It seems that they'll be taking up the last few places at the head of the table.' I pondered, as the three men approached.

They each had a hair of purple hair along with purple eyes, and looked somewhat older compared to my father and his cousin. Two of them, who I assumed were the Elders, looked to be in there late 30s although probably much older, while the last man looked to be around 50.

"Greetings Grandfather, Father, Uncle." My father rose from his seat and greeted them along with my mother. Seeing this the Clan Head, 2nd Elder and 3rd Elder nodded, and then the 3rd Elder took his seat.

On the other hand the 2nd Elder and Clan Head continued approaching us. "So this Li'er?" The 2nd Elder Lei Shaoqing asked, it seemed as though he was my grandfather.

"Yes father, would you like to hold him?" My father asked before handing me to the not so old looking man.

"Hmm, you look a lot like your father little one." Grandfather muttered while rocking me back and forth. Looking at him the resemblance between him and my father was uncanny. But it made sense, they were father and son after all.

"Let me look at him, he's still unable to talk right." A voice sounded from the side as he tapped my Grandfather's shoulder. Hearing this he immediately handed me over to the other man. Which was naturally my Great Grandfather and the Clan Head, Lei Xiang.

"He still can't talk right?" My Great Grandfather asked, as he looked towards my mother and father. Hearing this they shook their heads, and from what I could see their expression wasn't very happy.

Seeing this I was getting tired of the charade. "Who said I can't speak?" For the first time in this life I spoke up, shocking everyone in the vicinity.

"Where did that come from? Who said that?" The Clan Head questioned as he carried me. I almost laughed on the spot at his reaction.

"I talked." Once again I had opened my mouth. Immediately my parents rushed towards me and the Clan Head. "Mama, Papa." I said before reaching out towards them, trying to play it off as best I could.

Immediately my parents smiled happily before taking me from the Clan Head, who still stood there in surprise. He was probably still shocked that I had spoke for the first time while in his hands.

"Tian, he spoke, he actually spoke!" My mother said in joy, almost forgetting she was at my birthday banquet. Although I couldn't say for sure, there were a lot of important people at the banquet so it was best not to cause a scene.

Unfortunately it seemed as though my actions had already guaranteed it. The rest of the banquet ended up being my parents excitedly talking to me with big smiles on their faces. 'At least they're happy.' I thought as the banquet soon concluded.

We then went back to my room and I was placed inside my cot. "Goodnight Li'er." My mother said before tucking me into the cot. "Bye Mama, bye Papa." I replied before going to sleep. Talking more wasn't necessarily a bad thing, after all maybe they'd grant me access to the library earlier.

Thus the days passed as usual, just with more talking.....a lot more talking. Almost everyday my parents would come to talk to me, which at first wasn't all that bad but as time passed became more and more tedious. 'Even if I said poop they'd be amazed.'

While it was nice to feel special it had gotten a bit excessive. About 2 months later I began to walk much to my parents' surprise, which started another round of excitement. I was about a year and 2 months when I learnt to walk which was a bit on the slower side but not extremely slow.

When I reached 2 years old no big banquet was hosted, rather my father asked me what I wished for. Naturally I asked to be taught how to read and write. Hearing my request he was once again surprised, as was typical of the man, but by the next day he had already found me a teacher.

Fortunately it only took me about two weeks to learn to read and write somewhat effectively. But I wasn't about to show off, waiting another two weeks for a total of an entire month to show off my ability, but it seemed as though it was still a bit of a shock.

"The Deity slashed his sword sundering the mountain, saving the mortals and slaying the demons. Is that correct Sir?" I read out perfectly before asking my teacher for his opinion.

"That's more than good now can you write it out for me?" He replied as he stroked his long grey beard. No matter how many times I looked at him I couldn't get over how similar the old man looked to Gandalf.

Dismissing the thought, I proceeded to write out the sentence perfectly much to the surprise of my teacher, I then did this for a few more sentences and my teacher looked at me in shock. "It seems there isn't much left to teach you, I'll take note of your progress this following week and if its up to par I'll inform your parents."

A week was an extremely short period of time, and it passed by in a flash. My teacher told my parents about my progress and they were very excited. But the best thing to come out from it was my access to the library.
