Why could I open my eyes? Was I alive!? Not only that had I become a Young Master!? --------------------------------------------- For fun, not very serious, read it if you want, its nothing top tier but I hope it can at least be a good time filler for some.

Chapter 2 Inept?

As the days passed, I began to figure out more and more. Bit by bit, I began to comprehend and understand the language more and more. It wasn't Chinese or anything as I first guessed, being more of a mix between various languages from my previous world.

A few months later I had already learnt most of the language, being able to speak if needed. The only reason I hadn't was to not stand out that much. As the famous proverb said, the tallest tree catches the most wind.

Due to my understanding of the language, I also learnt that my first few guesses were correct. Every now and again I'd hear my new father and mother talk about "Cores", "Qi" and other such things. I could barely understand much but it was enough to know it was a world of cultivation.

And then my 1st birthday rolled around. The second I woke up my parents appeared before me and took me out of my cot, my mother dressed me herself, which was quite odd as normally the maids would.

Surprisingly she dressed me quite well and then carried me out of the room with my father by our side. "Is it really all right to host his celebration in the Glorious Thunder Hall? The Clan Head is really okay with this?" My mother asked my father in worry.

"Why are you panicking now? Everything's already set up it'll be fine, the old geezer's word is gold. When have you seen my grandfather go back on anything he's said." My father declared confidently with a smile on his face.

So far it was rare for me to see this man act mature, he acted almost as if he was still in his early 20s. 'Then again as a cultivator if he can live until 500, even being 100 years old would be equivalent of being 20 years old.'

"Fine, fine, its just that your cousins and uncles have been stirring up quite the mess lately. I was just concerned that something would happen." She sighed before leaning on my father slightly.

Some time later we made it to a big palace like structure. The entrance itself was lined with guards, all clad in purple armour and holding spears. Once they noticed us approaching all the guards bowed in unison.

"Greetings Young Master Lei Tian, Young Miss Qin Meili and Youngest Master Lei Li." The guards said in unison before letting us through. This seemed to be a normal occurrence for my parents, but for me it was the shock of my life.

'I thought I was from a Clan but I didn't realise it was this big of a clan. Then again this could mean anything after all this could just be a big Clan in a small Kingdom, once I can make some moves without suspicion I need to start reading.'

Entering, what I assumed was the Glorious Thunder Hall my mother had mentioned, I immediately looked around and was completely shocked once again. It was the most lavish room I'd ever seen in my life and was filled with hundreds of guests.

The once bustling hall immediately went silent before one by one they began to give their congratulations to me and my parents. Now this, this dragged on, it took almost an hour to get through all the greetings and only then did we get to our place at the table.

One thing I noticed though, was that no one related to me or my father had shown up yet. 'Is this related to the disturbance my mother was on about.' I thought as I looked to my father and mother.

Although on the surface my father had a pleasant smile on his face, I could tell he was furious as his eyes held a glint within them I had never seen before. Some time later another woman and man along with a child waltzed into the room.

"Trash." My father muttered in a voice so silent it was barely audible. Hearing this I was once again confused. 'Clan drama? That man's hair is also purple so it must be it.' I thought before looking around the room once again.

It seemed as though the couple and child from earlier had stolen the show, but I didn't care much for it. In fact the entire party was nuisance to me, I simply wished for time to pass so I could begin understanding more about the world.

'Then again, this is also an opportunity.' After some thought I realised that this was indeed true. Figuring out Clan Relations and where I and my parents stood would actually be a good use of my time on further deliberation.

"Hmm so is this the birthday boy?" The man who'd entered not too long ago asked, approaching where we sat. His face was similar to my father's yet different simultaneously, he wasn't exactly ugly but he was definitely uglier at least.

Both he and his wife had a derisive look in their eyes as they gazed at me. It was uncomfortable to say the least, but I didn't care for it much. 'So he might be the young master I have to worry about.' I thought while looking at their son.

He seemed to be around my age, and with how his parents were acting he was going to be prime face slap material.

"Mhm indeed he is, Eldest Cousin. Are you not going to give him a gift? Or did you leave it in the pile?" My father replied a smile on his face.

"Oh I left it in the pile, its nothing special so I didn't think it would be worthy of your attention, Youngest Cousin." The man presumably my father's cousin replied.

I didn't care much for the back and forth between them, but then something that man's wife said stood out. "So he still can't speak? Our son Feng'er has been able to speak since he was half a year old, isn't that right sweetie?" She said gesturing for him to speak.

"Yes mother." He said in the squeakiest voice I had ever heard in my 2 lives. But immediately it dawned on me, I had miscalculated. Children developed faster in this cultivation world, which meant I was delayed and now being seen as inept or mentally challenged.

Immediately my father and mother's faces went ashen. Naturally I had no way of knowing but I was sure this was their biggest worry as of late, the only thing that confused me was that they'd never mentioned it in front of me. 'Had they just said something this wouldn't even be an issue.'

"Lei Ling I've already shown you enough respect, now sit down and shut up before I lose my temper." My father declared, a faint purple light shining from his body, this attracted the attention from all the people around.

"Fine Lei Tian, always oh so quick to anger." He chuckled before taking his seat with his wife and son.

After this more and more people from the Clan arrived all making similar remarks and comments. It was actually surprising how calm my father was, on the other hand my mother's expression extremely cold.

"Don't worry Li'er, even if you take another year to begin talkin I am sure when you do you'll shock the world." My mother tried to console me, unfortunately for her there was no need to console me.

'Lets just get this over with.' I sighed inwardly already bored of the party.
