She instantly locked the locker. She got no books. Perhaps she can do that after dealing with Alexandra and getting Brittany out of that place.
She aggravatingly takes her steps to the cafeteria. And the more she gets closer to it, the more she sees more students looking in the same direction. It’s like they’re all in line for a good movie.
She hates it. They always stand there stupidly and do nothing to help their fellow schoolmates.
As soon as she got inside, Alexandra sitting at the table welcomed her eyes. She’s with her two more friends and in their middle is Brittany who seems not fine from her situation. They’re touching her hair and her uniform and she seems not fine with it.
Who would be?
“What are you doing?”
“Oh! I knew you would come!” Alexandra greeted cheerfully. “Come here. Sit beside me. Let’s eat!”
But she remained standing. She hates how she used Brittany only to get what she wants from her. She’s now at the cafeteria, just like what she told her earlier.
“So you’re not going to sit?” her voice sounded like a threat for a split a second. Her eyes darkened but the smile remains. “Do I still have to say ‘please’?”
“What are you doing?” she repeated.
She and her three friends looked at each other and laughed. “Duh! Inviting you! Isn’t it obvious? I am actually planning to make friends with you because you seem interesting and brilliant! Not to mention, you have looks! Looks like one of them is not true. I’m quite disappointed...”
“Let…Brittany go.”
“Oh? This girl? So your name is Brittany huh? You should have told us sooner. It’s not even that special,” she said, chuckling. “Anyway, we took her because it seems like…you don't have any plan to follow what I told you to do. It’s your fault, Cheska.”
“And why would I follow you? Who are you anyway?”
Alexandra fell silent but her eyes remained on Cheska as she plays with her tongue softly clicking it, trying to get a hold of herself.
When she realized that Cheska won’t follow her using the easiest and decent way, she stood up and went slowly to her, arms are crossed.
“Take her away,” she ordered her friends sternly. “I’m only up for one playmate. This one is enough.”
And her words were instantly obeyed by the two. Brittany left her seat and walked to Cheska. She was about to go near her when she spoke.
“Just go back to our room,” she showed an assuring smile. “You still haven’t eaten yet. Eat first.”
“But Cheska—”
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
She has no choice but to walk away and return to their room. Cheska looked at her seriously and even her voice is serious.
It’s telling her to just go and she’ll be fine. She trusts her friend, they’re together for so long and once she said she’s fine, she’s indeed fine.
Cheska darted her gaze back to Alexandra. She’s looking at her sharply as if it can bleed her to death.
She doesn’t like how she said that she’ll be back at any minute. She’s underestimating her and she hates it. Does she really think she would let her go in any minute from now?
“I am Alexandra Byun,” she introduced. “I am the future mistress of Byun Organization, the third strongest mafia organization. Fair enough?”
“And what does it have to do with me? How could your title as the ‘future mistress’ dictate my actions?” she asked, unshakable from the introduction. “As far as I remember, I’m from the Outside World and my leader is the president. Technically and obviously, I have no reasons to obey you.”
She scoffed but this time, her playful smiles aren’t present. She scoffed because of amusement. She can't believe this.
Someone from the Outside World still has the guts to talk like that to Mafias?
“You don’t know where to stand, do you?” she went closer, eyes are narrowing into slits. “Do you want me to show you your right place?”
She had no chance to answer because someone from behind her threw a tray on her head. She closed her eyes tightly.
It’s not just a tray, there are foods on it. Her head wasn’t just hit, her uniform is a mess now.
“People like you are the lowest among the worlds. Mafia World is on the top. Can you finally see now the big difference? Huh?”
Alexandra held her jaw, forcing her to look into her furious face. She forced her to look into her blazing eyes.
“Baseless strength is useless. You might be brave to counter me but that’s all you have.”
“Give me…a proper reason on why you’re doing this,” she finally opened her eyes. “and I’ll do whatever you want me to do.”
“I just see you as an interesting playmate. And another thing, you took my place as Lorenzo’s muse.”
Her eyes slightly widened. Finally, the muse she’s been wondering ever since has finally shown up in front of her.
At some point, she’s quite disappointed.
It’s just that…she’s not fit to be their muse at all.
“Oh…that’s you.”
“’That’s me?’” her voice slightly raised, reaching her limit. “You don’t really fear me huh? Fine then. You asked for this. I’ll show you fear.”
At first, she’s clueless about what she’ll do not until someone grabbed her both arms—it’s her two friends. She started to struggle from freeing herself.
Since she was too busy to remove the hands holding her both arms and stopping her from moving freely, she completely forgot Alexandra’s presence. She remembered it again only when she already threw a punch to her face and next kicked her stomach.
Everyone gasped. Cheska coughed. Alexandra only laughed.
“Do you know fear now? Cheska?”
She only groaned. That was a strong kick and a powerful punch. She almost felt dizzy from the punch and vomit because of the kick.
Not to mention, Alexandra is wearing rings and heels. She cursed inside her mind. That made her really annoyed. That really hurts.
“People like you are born only to bow to people like us! Weak are born to serve the strong ones! It has always been a universal rule! Weak suffers while we? We celebrate your sufferings!”
