Chapter 5

Natasha makes a call to Fury and waits for him to pick up. After a little while of waiting, Fury finally answered.

"Hi Nick, it's me, Natasha," Natasha told Fury.

Natasha listens to him.

"Yes, I'm alive, and I'll explain all of it the next time I see you. I called to ask if you knew anything about Wanda. Are you aware of her whereabouts? No one has seen or spoken to her since Tony's funeral yesterday, and she seemed upset. I just wanted to check up on her," Natasha told Fury.

Natasha listened to Fury tell her that he had no information on Wanda and didn't know where she was, but that a team was looking for her.

"I just wanted to know if she was OK and alive because from what it sounded like, it sounded like it could be bad," Natasha told Fury.

Natasha listens to Fury.

"Yes, of course, I'll attend a meeting; Clint will definitely want to drive his Jeep, so don't worry about sending a quinjet," Natasha told Fury.

Natasha listened to Fury.

"It's a long trek; it will probably take about six hours. I'll talk to Clint about it," Natasha told Fury.

Natasha listens to Fury.

"That's fine," Natasha said.

Fury then ended the call, and Natasha went to wait in the sitting room to talk to Clint.

A little while later, Clint descended the stairs.

"Fury requests that we meet at headquarters and have a meeting," Natasha told Clint.

"Sure, is he sending a quinjet? I would prefer to drive my Jeep," Clint asked Natasha.

Natasha smiles, "I told him that, and he said that's fine." Natasha told Clint. "I told him it would properly take six hours to get there. What do you think?" Natasha told Clint.

"Yeah About that, it depends on the traffic," Clint told Natasha.

"You know I would hate driving for hours; I don't see why you like it so much," Natasha said to Clint.

"Well, it's relaxing, at least for me. I'll just tell Laura, and after that, we can leave. Did you tell him about what happened?" Clint asks Natasha.

"No, not yet. I thought I would tell him when I see him, then I can explain it better," Natasha told Clint.

"That makes sense," Clint says; he then walks out of the room to talk to Laura.

"I'll leave you to it; call me if you need any help," Bruce told Natasha.

"Of course, thanks for everything," Natasha told Bruce.

"Of course, and you don't have to thank me; friends help each other out," Bruce told Natasha.

Clint then reappeared.

"Are you ready?" Natasha asked.

"Yes, we'll need to grab diesel on the way, but that'll be alright," Clint told Natasha.

Clint thanked Bruce and walked out of the house.

Natasha pushed her wheelchair to the vehicle. She thought about how she would enter the vehicle and then load the wheelchair. Never before had she had to think so much about getting in the car. and she hadn't realised before just how much thought would go into something as simple as getting in the car.

She used the car's railing to help pull herself up onto the seat in the back. She then folded the wheelchair by pressing a button, lifted it over, and set it down on the seat next to her.

Clint shut her door; he then opened his door and climbed in the front.

"I'm afraid there's only the radio unless you want to listen to Nate's songs; the CD player is not working properly; it won't eject the disc, so it will only play the one in it on repeat," Clint told Natasha.

"What if I Like his songs?" asked Natasha.

"Then you have bad taste in music if you like nursery rhymes and Paw Patrol," Clint told Natasha.

"I'm thinking radio," Natasha chuckles.

"Yep, radio," Clint said, pressing the button. He then shuts his door, started the engine, and drove off.
