Freedom Fighters

We see a beautiful open field as the wind blew the grass to the side and the trees moved as the sun shone in the sky. We see our blue hedgehog Sonic lying on his back facing the sky as he relaxes while filling the air with freedom and calm.

???: (radio) Sonic, can you hear me?

Sonic opens his eyes and sits up and takes out his radio and calls out to him.

Sonic: *smiles* Hey Shad, what's up?

Shadow: (radio) Don't call me that worm! Anyway, we need you back on base.

Sonic: Why? What is happening?

Shadow: (radio) Team Chaotix has returned with a Chaos Emerald.

Sonic: That's great.

Shadow: (radio) And they brought someone. Apperley say this guy uses the powers of Chaos to defeat a large army of Eggman's robots.

Sonic: It looks almost similar to someone dosing it.

Shadow: (radio) Shut up and get over here as fast as you can. He is awake and in a cell.

Sonic: Did you really need to lock the guy in a cell?

Shadow: (radio) We don't know who he is and what powers he might have, so it's necessary that we put him there in case he tries something.

Sonic: Well, I like new friends, so I get there ASAP.

Shadow: (radio) Okay, Shadow hangs up.

Shadow interrupts when Sonic gets up and stretches while thinking to himself.

Sonic: (thinking) Shadow as usual, always serious and emo. I still wonder who this new guy is? Well better go and meet him maybe he's like me and probably has someone else to talk to. Anyway, I have to go fast.

He then runs at top speed as he goes back to see who this new guy is and what he knows.

About that...

We see Aaron in a cell as he grabs the bars of the cell trying to call someone to find out where he is.

Aaron: Hey! Is there someone here!? Where am I?! What did they do to my Chaos Emerald?!

He then proceeds to rake the iron bars with his claws to make even more noise.

Aaron: Help! I can't take it anymore! I have to get out of here! I can't get stuck like this! Let me go! And my prisoner rights?! You have to say that I have the right to remain silent! NO ONE SAID ANYTHING UNTIL NOW!!!

???: He arrives! Shut up you irritant! You have the right to remain silent, what it seems you don't have is that ability! Stay quiet! It's giving me a headache!

Then a black hedgehog with red stripes walks to Aaron's cell and turns to face him.

Shadow: You're going to tell me where you found that Chaos Emerald and you're going to tell me now.

The Echidna Hedgehog stared at him for a moment when he realized who the black Hedgehog was in front of him.

Aaron: (Thoughts) It's Shadow... he's more grouchy in person. (Out of Thoughts) Why should I speak? I only speak in the presence of my lawyer! I want a lawyer!

Shadow rolled his eyes at this as he growled.

Shadow: Either you answer or you rot in there! Now answer my question!

Aaron: I found it on the beach.

Shadow: Oh yeah, so why did you run away when Team Chaotix told you to hand over the Chaos Emerald?

Aaron: I don't know those guys or that they were trying to help, I thought they were thieves. Look, where am I?

Shadow: You are in our Freedom Fighters base.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Perfect! (Out of Thoughts) Freedom Fighters Base?

Shadow: We are freedom fighters and our duty is to protect Eggman's world.

Aaron: From Eggman?

Shadow: A mad scientist who made robots, captured many people and turned them into his robot slaves.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Dr. Eggman turned people into robots? I... never knew that. I mean, I knew he's a villain, but I never thought he'd go this far...

Shadow: Now back to the matter at hand, how did you use Chaos powers like me?

The Hedgehog Echidna raises an eyebrow at this.

Aaron: (Thoughts) As if I would know. (Out of Thoughts) Chaos powers?

Shadow: Do I have to repeat myself?

Aaron: (Thoughts) Jeez, himself pissed off over nothing. And to think I have this guy's DNA.

???: Hey Shad!

Then the door opens and a blue hedgehog walks towards Shadow as he and Aaron turn towards him.

Aaron: (Thoughts) So this is Sonic.

Sonic: Hey, is that the new guy?

Shadow: I don't mean new guy, more like deaf retard.

Aaron: Hey! What animal bit you, devil's horse face?

Shadow narrows his gaze at the Echidna Hedgehog as he snarls before Sonic intervenes with a smirk.

Sonic: Anyway, my name is Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog and are you?

Aaron: Aaron, Aaron the Hedgehog Echidna. Nice to meet you Sonic.

Shadow and Sonic look at each other before turning their gaze to Aaron.

Sonic: Are you a Hedgehog and an Echidna?

Shadow: Impossible, Knuckles is the last Echidna in existence.

Aaron: And here I am. I don't have claws on my hands for nothing.

Shadow: Shut up!

Sonic: Sorry about my friend here, he's kind of serious and never gets along with others.

Shadow then gives him an angry look.

Shadow: One more word and I'll rip his tongue out.

Sonic laughs at this before speaking.

Sonic: You know what I mean?

Aaron just crosses his arms at this.

Aaron: Looks like someone woke up on the wrong foot. But enough of this litany!

Shadow then looks at him with a serious look.

Shadow: Stop talking!

Aaron: Exactly. No one will know anything with me trapped here.

Shadow: In case you haven't noticed, you are being held as a prisoner.

Shadow smirks before Aaron repeats the gesture.

Aaron: I'm not a prisoner. And what happened back there?

He then holds the bars of his cell tightly.

Aaron: I just tried to help, I let myself be captured. If I wanted to leave, I would have already left.

Aaron then proceeds to bend the bars of the cell until there is room for him to get out while the two other Hedgehogs step back in surprise at what the Hedgehog Echidna has done.

Shadow: Oh you...! Go back to your cell!

Aaron: I'm tired of being trapped, if you want someone in that cell then come in.

Shadow snarled at him before Sonic stepped between the two.

Sonic: Hey, let's take it easy guys.

Aaron: Easy? Y ' all lock me up like I'm a wild animal and want to tell me to calm down. Be thankful that I didn't already leave here by force.

Shadow: You couldn't even if you wanted to.

The Hedgehog then points to the bars of his former prison.

Aaron: Ask the bars if I couldn't.

He then lets out a sigh before speaking.

Aaron: Look, I'll answer what I can as long as they don't lock me up again.

Shadow: Very well then. Who exactly are you?

Aaron scratches the back of his head wondering how to respond before remembering his maker's words.

doctor doctor Eggman: (In Aaron's Mind) You'll tell them that you woke up a few months ago with no memories of your past. It won't be a lie after all you woke up a little while ago.

Aaron: *laughs* What am I? From time to time I ask myself the same question. Haha This is crazy!

Shadow just stares at him with a sullen expression while Sonic tries to hold back a laugh when he sees the black Hedgehog's expression.

Aaron: Okay, okay, sorry. To be honest, there's not much to say. I woke up almost three months ago with no memories. Look, I'm not a thief or a bad guy, and I don't know anything about this "Eggman" guy.

The two look at Aaron with suspicious looks as the Hedgehog Echidna says he doesn't remember anything as he sighs tiredly.

Shadow: What about you claiming to be an Echidna Hedgehog?

Aaron: Draw your conclusions. If you look carefully you will see that I have the characteristics of both species.

Shadow and Sonic then observe Aaron's features such as his large hands with claws, the spikes on his back, and the similarities he had to Hedgehogs and Echidnas. But something that caught Shadow's attention were the metallic-looking claws on Aaron's wrists.

Shadow: What about those claws of yours? What are they made of?

Aaron then looks down at his hands before scratching the back of his head before speaking with a smile.

Aaron: I have no idea. I was born that way and the high esteem I got over time.

Sonic raises an eyebrow at the Echidna Hedgehog's last sentence.

Sonic: (Thoughts) Because I feel like I've heard that phrase before. (Out of Thoughts) So you don't remember anything from your past?

Aaron: ...No...

Sonic looks at Aaron for a while before reaching out to him.

Shadow: What the hell are you doing?!

Sonic: We can't keep him locked up in here without a past to remember. We also can't let him wander around, if Eggman finds him, he'll stay with us.

Shadow: But what if he tries to steal the Chaos Emeralds again.

Aaron: Steal the Chaos Emeralds again? Bro correction. I found an Emerald and YOU stole it from me while I was sleeping.

Shadow: Shut up.

Sonic: *smiles* Oh relax Shad, I'll keep an eye on him. I'm sure he'll be fine if I go with him.

Shadow looks at Aaron and Sonic as he faces defeat and turns to leave before saying.

Shadow: Fine, but don't blame me when we find out our Chaos Emeralds were stolen and Aaron took off with them.

Shadow then leaves while slamming the door behind him.

Aaron: It was nice meeting you too!

He then turns to Sonic who looks at him and says with a smile.

Sonic: *smiles* Come on, you must be hungry. I know of a place that has a balacobaco snack.

Shortly afterwards...

We see Sonic and Aaron at Chuck's Chili Dogs while Aaron has a Chili Dog delivered by the waitress. The Hedgehog Echidna raises an eyebrow as he has never seen food like this before as he picks it up and looks at it. He looks at Sonic who has a mountain of Chili Dogs as he starts to eat them one by one which surprises Aaron.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Must be those Chili Dogs Dr. Eggman said he loves it.

He then goes back to his food and takes the first bite and after he eats he enjoys the taste until he tastes the spiciness when he feels his face heat up as he grabs his throat and searches for anything to drink.

???: Here, I bet your first time eating a Chile Dog, isn't it son?

Aaron turns his gaze to the owner of the voice to see an old pale blue Hedgehog with a mustache and white eyebrows, Uncle Chuck, looking at him as he hands him a glass of water which Aaron soon drinks before feeling relieved.

Aaron: *sigh* Thank you. My mouth felt like it was on fire.

Uncle Chuck: *laughs* No problem son, so I hear you don't have a past, right?

Aaron: Yeah, I can't remember anything.

Uncle Chuck: Well I'm sorry about that, it must be sad to lose all your memories and not know about your life years ago.

Aaron: (Thoughts) If only I had a life years ago... (Out of Thoughts) It does in a way.

Uncle Chuck: Well, I know my grandson will help you with that. But you know son...

The old Hedgehog stares at Aaron for a moment, taking in his features before speaking.

Uncle Chuck: ...You look strangely like my grandson. Your face reminds me a lot of his.

The Hedgehog Echidna started to sweat at this before talking nervously in fear that Chuck would discover him.

Aaron: M-Really? I-I think it's just a big coincidence you know? After all, there are many other Hedgehogs out there that look like him, right?

Chuck scratched his mustache as he thought about it.

Uncle Chuck: You must be right. But tell me, is it true that you are Hedgehog and also Echidna.

Aaron: Surprised?

Uncle Chuck: Absolutely. I always imagined that Knuckles was the last Echidna.

Aaron: Well, I guess not anymore.

Uncle Chuck: But boy, are your claws really made of iron?

Aaron: I don't know the material, but I do know that it's quite strong as well as heavy, but that doesn't affect me in any way.

Uncle Chuck: Good, I'm happy son.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Maybe we should change the subject. (Out of Thoughts) Well, changing the subject, about Sonic, he seems to be very important around here. Not out of envy, but I heard a few people praising him and waving at him as we passed.

Uncle Chuck: That's because my grandson is a hero who defeated Eggman several times.

The Hedgehog Echidna then feigns a surprised look.

Aaron: Really?

Sonic then gains a proud expression as he sticks out his chest.

Sonic: That's it. I'm the fastest hedgehog in the world and I've beaten Eggface many times. I even saved the whole world from other threats and almost died a few times.

Aaron: (Thoughts) It's like Dr. Eggman said, his ego is as big as his speed. (Out of Thoughts) That must have been amazing.

Uncle Chuck: Certainly, but my grandson always rises to his feet even in the face of danger.

Sonic smiles proudly of himself before speaking.

Sonic: That's it.

He then throws a Chili Dog in the air and comes down before devouring it in one bite. He then gets up from his chair and before thanking his uncle.

Sonic: Thanks for the meal Uncle Chuck. Now it's time to continue the tour.

Uncle Chuck: No problem Sonic my boy.

Sonic: Come on Aaron, I want you to meet my best friend.

Aaron: Okay, let's go then.

Then Sonic takes off running while Aaron chases after him only to see the blue Hedgehog run off at full speed before disappearing down the street when Aaron loses sight of him.

Aaron: He wants to race me right?

He then gets a smile for this before getting ready to run after the Blue Devil.

Aaron: I'm gonna wreck this race!

Aaron takes off like a rocket going to the moon, but he doesn't get very far when he ends up bumping into someone causing them both to fall as sheets of paper fly into the air before hitting the ground.

Aaron: Whoops, sorry, I hadn't seen you.

???: Alright, sorry about that, I was a bit distracted too.

Aaron looks up to see a female pink Hedgehog rubbing the back of his head, Aaron blinks in surprise as he recognizes the girl in front of him.

Aaron: (Thoughts) This must be Amy Rose, the girl who keeps chasing after the Blue Hedgehog.

Aaron then stands up before extending his hand to her who looks at the Echidna Hedgehog who soon asks.

Aaron: No, it's my fault, I shouldn't have run without looking around. How are you?

The pink Hedgehog and Aaron lock eyes and she blushes a little when she looks at him before slowly taking the boy's hand that helps her to stand up.

Amy: Y-Yes, I'm fine, T-Thanks Mr...

Aaron: Call me Aaron and sorry again for bumping into you like that.

Amy: Oh no, you don't have to apologize, it's my fault.

Then the fallen papers on the floor begin to float away before Amy starts to pick them up before Aaron helps her using his super speed by picking up several of the leaves while the girl looks at him in surprise, soon the Hedgehog Echidna has several of the leaves in his hands before handing them over to Amy.

Amy: Thank you, for your kindness. My name is Amy Rose. Pleasure to meet you.

Aaron cracks a smile before speaking.

Aaron: Also Amy.

Amy: I've never met anyone that fast besides Sonic and Shadow. Never seen you before, what brings you here?

Aaron: Well, let's just say... I had a lot of trouble with Team Chaotix.

Amy: What happened?

Aaron: It's a long story, but long story short I have a Chaos Emerald and that's why I'm here.

The girl then earns a surprised look.

Amy: Seriously, you have a Chaos Emerald, how?

Aaron: I found it on the beach earlier today.

Amy: Well, where are you from then?

Aaron: I have no idea, I can't remember.

Amy: So you have amnesia?

Aaron: Bingo.

Amy then gains a shocked expression upon hearing this.

Amy: For furniture, I'm sorry.

Aaron: It's ok, but until recently I was with Sonic and he ran out to show me Tails.

Amy: And so you decided to run to catch up with him and that's when you bumped into me?

Aaron: Bingo.

Pink Hedgehog laughs at this before thinking of the blue corridor.

Amy: (Thoughts) Sonic always running. (Thoughts) Well, I'll take you to them, come with me.

Aaron smiles at this.

Aaron: Really? Thank you very much.

Amy smiles while Aaron returns the smile and they head to Tails' house.

Halfway through Amy then notices Aaron's large hands as well as his claws before asking.

Amy: Aaron?

Aaron: Huh?

Amy: Are you an Echidna?

Aaron: More or less, I'm an Echidna Hedgehog, Aaron the Echidna Hedgehog.

The pink Hedgehog then blinks in surprise at this.

Amy: But I thought Knuckles was the last Echidna, and how can you be Hedgehog and Echidna?

The boy just itches and never thinking of an answer that doesn't give too many details about him.

Aaron: It's a good question, but I don't have the answer.

Amy: But what about your claws? Why are they like this?

Aaron then looks down at the claws on his hands before sighing and speaking.

Aaron: They've been like that for as long as I can remember, but I don't know much more than that.

Amy looks at the boy with a curious look on his face, she pays attention to his features before realizing that he reminds her of three of her friends.

Amy: You know Aaron, I don't know why, but you remind me of Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles at the same time.

The Hedgehog Echidna chokes on this before speaking.

Aaron: Hehe let's just say I hear that a lot hehe.

Amy raises an eyebrow at this.

Amy: If you say so.

Later...

They soon arrived at Tails' house when they saw Sonic outside waiting for Aaron and turned to see the two before running over to them with a smile.

Sonic: You're finally here, you're late.

Amy: Sonic, you left him behind, how can you leave someone with no memory behind!

Sonic: Well, I kind of didn't know he can't run like me.

Aaron: Who says I can't?

The other two Hedgehogs then turn their gaze to him.

Aaron: I can run just like you.

Sonic: Really?

Aaron: Let's go racing one day, and I'll show you what I can do.

The two smile defiantly at each other before Amy cuts them off.

Amy: Guys, we're getting off topic here.

Sonic: Sorry, I thought Aaron was killing time.

Amy: You're killing time *laughs*.

Sonic blushes at this as Aaron stifles a laugh before asking.

Aaron: So this is Tails' house, it looks like some kind of workshop. (Thoughts) If I remember correctly what Dr. Eggman said, the fox is a mechanic.

Amy: That's because he works in mechanical engineering and was responsible for creating many of the weapons we use to fight Eggman.

Sonic: *smiles* Yeah, he's the best brother in the world.

They walk to the gates and Sonic opens them and calls out to Tails.

Sonic: Tails? Are you here friend?

Then there was some noise and Tails head peeks to see them before walking over to them while wiping his hands once he said with a smile.

Tails: Hey Sonic, Amy, nice to see you. Who is your friend?

Sonic: Tails this is Aaron, Aaron this is Tails.

The two greet each other with a handshake when Aaron speaks sympathetically.

Aaron: Nice to meet you Tails. This place is pretty big what you have here.

Tails: Thank you. I've been working hard and don't have time to clean up the mess due to there being some firearms that soldiers bring to concerts.

Sonic: Really? Thought they worked perfectly?

Tails: That's what I thought...

Then Tails puts a Red Wisp on a gun on a table and keeps saying.

Tails: For some reason, these weapons have had some issues, like the Red Wisps inside it having trouble breathing and how it overheats too much, which ends up injuring the Wisp inside it.

Aaron: Lisp?

Tails: No, Wisps, with a W.

Sonic: Don't worry, I made the same mistake before.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Dr. Eggman didn't tell me much about it, it'll be good to know more about these things. (Out of Thoughts) Okay and what is this?

Tails: Ah, I'll show you.

Tails claps his hands and then a small group of Wisps come out of the second floor and fly around them. Aaron looks at them with surprise in his eyes as the Wisps circle around Sonic, Amy and Tails who begins his explanation.

Tails: These Wisps were from another planet and were enslaved by Eggman. After freeing them some return to their planet while some stay and help us in this fight against Eggman. I made these firearms so they can use their powers to help us in this war. We don't abuse them like Eggman did, we treat them with respect and take care of them.

The Hedgehog Echidna then blinks in surprise at this.

Aaron: Wait, are they from another planet?

Amy: *smiles* Yeah and they're really cute.

Then a Blue Wisp flies around Aaron who gives him a pet who soon likes it while giggling.

Aaron: *smiles* Yeah, they're really cute.

Aaron looks at the firearm and asks Tails.

Aaron: So these things have some problems.

Tails: Yeah I've been trying to fix this all day but nothing is working I guess I have to throw this in the trash and build a new one-

Then Aaron somewhat reluctantly touches the firearm and it turns on. Tails and the rest turn around as Aaron slowly backs away in shock as Tails runs and looks at the now repaired weapon which left the fox shocked as he said holding the weapon.

Tails: Is everything fixed!? The internal fan, along with the many problems, is all fixed. How did you do it?

Aaron: I have no idea. I just touched the gun.

Sonic: *laughs* Wow, that's a pretty useful Chaos power you have.

It was Amy's turn to be surprised.

Amy: Wow, does he have Chaos powers?!

Sonic: But of course he has.

Tails: Well I don't know what you did but thanks I thought this was going to drive me crazy.

Aaron: *smiles* Sure, no problem.

Then the Blue Wisp that was with Aaron enters a hammer that was on the table and jumps to the Hedgehog Echidna who holds it while Sonic smiles at it.

Sonic: Well, looks like you made a new friend.

Aaron then reluctantly looks at the hammer in his hand.

Aaron: I don't know... I don't even know how to use this thing?

Amy: If you need help I can help you, it's actually not that hard if you get used to it.

Aaron: I appreciate Rose.

The pink hedgehog smiles happily.

Amy: No problem.

Aaron: But I'm going to have to decline.

The others look confused and surprised at him.

Sonic: Refuse?

Aaron: Yes.

Hedgehog Echidna then places the hammer back on the table while Blue Wisp steps out of the weapon with a sad look on his face.

Tails: But why?

Aaron: Because I don't like guns. For me, weapons only serve to bring pain and hurt others. In 1 year only 6000 people are arrested for carrying weapons, around 4000 people are killed by weapons every year. I know some use them to bring peace and justice, but it still scares me.

He then has memories of the simulation he had seen on Dr. Eggman before remembering the sadistic expression his face had on the recording.

Aaron: I'm already strong, I don't want to carry something like that and become even more of a danger.

He then pats Blue Wisp on the head to comfort him.

Aaron: Sorry if I let you down little buddy, but that's just the way I am. I'm glad you want to be my friend, but as your friend I wouldn't feel comfortable using you as a weapon even if you let me.

Wisp thinks a little about the Echidna Hedgehog's words before smiling, happy that the boy thought so before hugging him. Aaron was taken aback by the little creature's reaction before returning the smile.

Tails: I see what you mean, but it looks like our little Blue Wisp still wants to stay with you.

Aaron raises an eyebrow at this before looking at Wisp who smiles at him.

Aaron: Well, if that's the case, then I'm glad to have you by my side, little friend.

The Wisp then hummed happily before flying around the Hedgehog Echidna before landing on its head.

Then, suddenly, alarms go off around the node, signifying that Eggman's forces are heading to their base. Sonic then gets a smile from this.

Sonic: Looks like Eggman is going to try to attack us again, well done guys let's go!

Tails: Right behind you!

Amy: Come on Aaron.

Aaron: Right!

Then they headed towards the front gates and, once there, they saw Sally at the front gates as several of Eggman's ships came towards them. Sonic runs to Sally while Aaron follows him.

Sonic: So Sal what's the situation?

Sally: Looks like Eggman's forces are landing. Nicole is putting Knothole on defense until she defeats them.

Sonic: *smiles* That would be easy. I show these bots who is the fastest hedgehog in the world.

Sally: Don't be reckless Sonic. This is much bigger than we thought.

Aaron: She's right. Even if you're fast, they can surround you and catch you.

Sonic: So what's your idea Aaron?

Aaron: These forests are so well hidden and it looks like these robots are coming in a straight line. The trees get in the way of computer trackers covering our tracks and the air force won't be able to detect us. I suggest you send two squads into the woods while the rest distract them. When the time is right, the two squads will ambush the robots and detonate them.

Sally looked at him with a surprised look on her face as she blinked a few times.

Sally: Wow, that... that would work. Who are you?

Aaron: Hello There. I'm Aaron. It's really nice to meet you Sally.

Sally: Oh right here. W-well let's do this. Squads A and B, entered the forest and waited for our signal.

The two squads nod and head into the woods as Sally and the rest stand their ground and prepare. Once the bots get close, they open fire. The robots also shoot when Sonic runs towards them throwing punches and kicks while several Spin Dash destroying the machines.

Aaron: It's my turn to play! I'm gonna wreck it!

The Hedgehog Echidna then runs up to the machines as they fire at him before he leaps into the air before descending towards the ground before hitting the ground with a powerful right punch that sent a powerful earthquake that sent the machines off balance. while stumbling around falling to the ground or shooting at each other before exploding.

Aaron then jumps to his feet when he hears a noise coming from behind him before turning to see one of the robots aiming to hit him, the trigger is pulled and Aaron quickly ducks before using his fists to start digging a hole and disappear. underground.

The bot looks in all directions before it feels something grab its leg before looking down to see Aaron's fist pull it down into the ground. Soon the Echidna Hedgehog was seen standing on the ground while only the bot's head was seen sticking out of the ground before Aaron crushed it with a punch.

Aaron: I wrecked you!

Sally: Well done Aaron!

Amy: *smiles* Yeah, great job.

Tails: Good job.

Aaron: Thanks.

Aaron then looks at the destroyed robots before a thought comes to mind.

Aaron: (Thoughts) I don't know why Dr. Eggman is attacking, but I'm sure this will help me gain the Combatants' trust.

He keeps running and destroying the bots and soon the first wave ends to give way to the second wave that was about to arrive.

Sonic: Second wave coming!

Sally: Squad A and B, now!

Then both squads shoot and take out small bots as some manage to get past them. Those that passed were destroyed by Sonic or Aaron who exploded them using Spin Dash and the second wave was ending.

Tails: Wow, it worked!

Sally: Yeah, good planning Aaron.

Aaron: Thanks Sally, but-

Then Aaron sees that the airship behind Sonic opens up and fires several missiles that fly towards the Blue Hedgehog.

Sally: Sonic watch out! Behind you!

Sonic turns around, but the rockets were fast and about to hit him when he saw his life pass before his eyes.

Aaron saw that before starting to run towards the Hedgehog before activating his Air Shoes jets to increase his speed. But that wasn't enough when there were few centimeters left for Sonic to be reduced to pieces.

It was then that Aaron felt a power surge from within him when he suddenly disappeared into the air when he teleported in a flash of light before appearing at Sonic's side to then teleport once more, taking the blue Hedgehog out of the way of the missiles, thus saving the life of the Blue Devil.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Looks like the powers I would gain from Shadow's DNA have finally awakened.

They both reappear safely when Aaron releases Sonic who falls to his knees.

Sonic: That was close! Bro, I swear I saw my whole life pass like a movie before my eyes! Thanks Aaron, I owe you a face.

Aaron: Don't say thanks yet. Look.

He then points to the missiles that had now turned around and were heading towards the two boys. Aaron then closed his eyes before starting to concentrate.

Aaron: (Thoughts) It's a good time for the power of Chaos in me to awaken too. Otherwise I'll do Kaboom!

Wires of electricity then appeared in Aaron's hand as the missiles stopped in the air a few centimeters from the Hedgehog Echidna.

Sonic and the rest look over to see Aaron reaching out to steady the electricity, then throws his arm back and the missiles are reflected back towards the airship and hit it. Aaron opens his eyes and looks at his hand to see sparks of electricity flowing through his hand and body as before while his eyes glow green the same color as the Master Emerald.

Amy: Aaron?

Aaron looks at Amy and then the rest and back to the airship and closes his fist and shoots a huge blast of energy that hits the airship and it explodes as Aaron continues but feels him getting weaker and weaker until he stops shoot and fell backwards to the ground and passing out once more.

Sonic: Aaron!

Sonic checks on his friend to see that he was still alive when he lets out a relieved sigh before looking up at the airship to see it go down.

Tails: He must have used a lot of Chaos energy.

Sonic: Vector told me he was found passed out after that attack on a village.

Sally: Let's get him inside so he can rest.

Everyone nods and carries the unconscious, heavy Hedgehog Echidna back to Knothole to heal him.

About that...

At Eggman's base, we see Eggman looking through his aircraft's cameras trying to figure out what happened. He pauses the video and sees Aaron steadying the electricity in his hand, which interests him as he strokes his mustache.

doctor Eggman: Finally! Muuuhuhuhu ahahahaha! *evil laughs*

Then Orbot and CuBot hover over Eggman as Cubot said.

Cubot: What happened Emperor of Evil?

Orbot: What is the reason for such joy?

doctor Eggman: It couldn't be better ahahaha! Aaron has finally awakened Shadow's powers and the Emeralds' powers!

Cubot: That's great sir.

Orbot: Are things going as planned, Emperor of Evil?

doctor Eggman: And how are you! Now after that great show and saving those Fighters' asses, I doubt they won't beg Aaron to become one of them! Now that he's finally infiltrated, it will be a lot easier to put an end to these Freedom Fighters.

Orbot: That's very good sir.

doctor Eggman: Certainly, with Aaron infiltrated there I will be able to have very valuable information and as a gift I will have the Chaos Emeralds and I will show the Freedom Fighters that nobody can face Dr. Eggman! *evil laughs*

Orbot: I have my concerns about that.

Cubot: Yeah, me too.

About that...

We see Aaron waking up as he looks around to see that he is in the medical room as he sits up on the medical bed and looks around. Then the doors open and Amy walks in and sees Aaron awake and runs to him and asks worriedly.

Amy: Are you okay? How are you feeling?

Aaron: I... I think so... but what happened?

Amy: You shot down a large airship with your Chaos powers and after that you passed out. Not to mention you saved Sonic's life, he might be fast but so were those missiles and if it wasn't for you Sonic would be ripped to smithereens. Thanks for saving him, Aaron.

Aaron: Is Sonic okay?

Sonic: Yeah, all thanks to you.

Then Sonic, Tails and Sally enter the room and walk towards Aaron when the Blue Hedgehog starts talking.

Sonic: I thought I was done with those missiles in my face, but you saved my skin with your Chaos powers. Thanks bro, I owe you one.

Aaron: You're welcome.

Sally: And what you did impressed me. In the past, we've had a few soldiers injured, but thanks to your plans, no one has been hurt.

Aaron: No problem Sally and it looks like you guys really are the good guys in the story right. I have to remember to apologize to Vector and the other Chaotix.

Vector: So enjoy the moment.

Then Team Chaotix enters when the Chameleon is the first to speak.

Espio: We forgive you for what happened when we first met. We should explain more to you instead of thinking that you were trying to steal the Chaos Emerald.

Charmy: Yeah, and you were amazing when you defeated all those robots.

Aaron: Thanks, but that's not enough.

Sonic: Don't be coy, it was awesome. I've never met anyone so fast other than Shadow. You and I have to race one day.

Aaron: Absolutely.

Sally: Now we don't have to worry about Eggman's next attack for a while. So Aaron, do you intend to continue fighting for others?

Aaron: I've seen a lot since I woke up, so if I can help someone I will do it whenever I can.

Sally smiles at this before asking.

Sally: So would you like to join the Freedom Fighters? It would be nice to have you around.

The Hedgehog Echidna blinked at the chance to sneak in before smiling.

Aaron: (Thoughts) Perfect, this is my chance. (Out of Thoughts) You can count on me for whatever comes!

Sally reaches out to Aaron who takes her hand and shakes it as the rest applaud as Hedgehog Echidna is now the newest member of the Freedom Fighters. In the background, we see Shadow and his team as they hear that Aaron is joining the Freedom Fighters.

Rouge: Hmm he's cute.

Omega: I SCANNED A LARGE SOURCE OF ENERGY BEING EMANATED FROM HIM, IT'S VERY LARGE.

Bat then has an idea when she gets a smirk on her face.

Rouge: Hey Shad, do you think he would be good on our team?

She then turns to see Shadow walking away, ignoring Rouge's questions, but she soon smiles and looks at Aaron with interest in her eyes.

Rouge: (Thoughts) You are quite interesting Hedgehog Echidna.
