Chapter 118

When Nicholas and Brie arrived at his office, everyone was already gathered. They were all whispering as a sealed envelope was left on Nicholas' desk.

"How did this letter arrive?" Nicholas asked as he made his presence known.

Everyone bowed as he passed, showing their prince the respect he deserved.

"A messenger managed to pass through our borders." Dion explained.

"I thought if they had ill intentions against the clan or you they wouldn't be able to cross?" Kara asked her cousin, curious about the laws of the magic he had cast around them.

"Then the man harbored no ill will against us." Nicholas answered plainly. "Did you look into the messenger's background?" Nicholas asked his uncle Dion.

"I did, Philip helped me get the truth." Dion nodded at Philip who smiled proudly, happy that he could help his cousin and future king. "It seems that there are some tricks you don't need to teach these three."
