"Before he dies, my brother must first learn his lesson, and I will not let him go without being punished." Nicholas hissed.

"Will that really be enough, Nicholas?" Brie asked. "Physical torment for what he made the entire kingdom suffer?"

Nicholas was silent as he considered his sister's words.

"What do you have in mind?" Nicholas asked her as he recalled that women often times have to think outside the box in Merlen.

"He had an intended, didn't he?" Brie asked as a smile crossed her face.

"It could have been a political alliance." Nicholas told his sister.

"We both know Marcus well enough. Do you really think he would have taken more than one wife if he became king?" She questioned her brother.

"That would have been breaking treaties and traditions!" Lord Edmond said in shock.
