EMERGENCY

Alec had made plans in his heart to pay Valerie a visit at night the next day....

Valerie got home feeling all happy and fired up due to the successfull broadcast in school, she got down from the car hoping left and right out of happiness when she got inside the house she saw their personal cleaner Johan "Good afternoon Johan how are you doing" Johan a woman in her mid thirties looked up from the cleaning she was doing on the dining and could not help but smile at the bubbly Valerie "my dear how are you doing? I miss seeing your beautiful face" Valerie hop to her side "seriously? she gave Johan a skeptical look "or instead you don't feel like coming back to us after your holidays" Valerie kept on teasing Johan and telling her about everything she has missed up on while leaving out the strangers part to prevent Johan from telling her mum by mistake..

"is my mum back yet?" Valerie asked because she knew her mum would usually come downstairs when she hears her voice....

"yes she's in the study"

' that's weird ' Valerie thought before making her way to the study,she knocked twice but did not get any response she frow her brow a little bit unsettled due to the lack of response she immediately rushed into the room only to meet her mum lying on the cold floor and not moving at all.... she immediately ran to her mum's side and check her pulse then tried to give her first aid resuscitation then called on Johan for help.. due to the quavering of Valerie's voice Johan got there with the utmost speed she has " what's going on" she asked worriedly before going to Valerie's side "please help me open the curtains and windows then dial 911 immediately please" Valerie was having a mental breakdown inside but she has to keep it all inside to prevent any form of distraction like her dad has told her before... then she continued with the CPR while waiting on the paramedics... then Mrs Smith was taken to the hospital and Valerie ensure she was not separated from her mum for any reason...

they were attended to immediately they entered the hospital, then the doctors started checking her mum in the emergency room.. After about 10 minutes a doctor came outside to meet Valerie "hi I'm Ben the doctor attending to Mrs Smith and if I'm correct she's your mum right?

she stood up immediately and shook the doctors extended hand "yes I'm Valerie, please doctor how is my mum doing?" she asked looking all troubled and her brown eyes glistened with tears the doctor smiled in a comforting manner " she's fine thanks to your immediate action for the first aid, you can go in to see her at the moment and ensure to come meet me when your dad is around"

he turned and left... Valerie could not help but give a deep bow to the doctor in gratitude "thank you very much sir, thank you doctor" she ran to her mother's ward immediately the nurse gave her a simple description, immediately she entered she was met with the pale face of her mother.... she went and gave her mum a tight hug and then let all the grievance in her heart ease up by shedding tears "I thought I would lose you" her mother gave her a reassuring Pat on her back "no my darling I have no where to go at the moment, I have to watch my darling daughter turn a grown woman"

Valerie could not help but scold her mother for being ignorant about her own health..

"have you called your dad?" Mrs Smith asked solemnly.. then Valerie realized that her dad has not called since they have been in the hospital because she has asked Johan to inform her dad immediately they left for the hospital " I asked Johan to call him but I don't think she has called him yet, let me try calling him from here" then she picked up her phone and called her dad and after 2 rings the call was connected "hello darling" then Valerie tucked her mum's lose strands of hair behind her ear " Dad mum was rushed to the hospital in the afternoon and I told Johan to inform you but it seems to me that she has forgotten" she spoke while walking to and fro inside the ward "No Valerie, she did not forget... I am very sorry I'm really booked with lots of works in the hospital I'm very sorry I would ensure to come there by tomorrow please" Valerie was left speechless "Dad why would you say this, you've not been home for some weeks with the excuse of being busy at work and you are saying this even to your sick wife.." her Dad was trying to explain at the other end but Valerie cut through the conversation "dad please ensure to be here tonight we need to meet the doctor together" then she hung up the call looking very gloomy but her mum could not help but smile knowing this would be the outcome.
