Chapter 12

I stare into Nezu's eyes, watching as he shivers in my presence, I may be socially inept, but even in my last life, I had made a point of learning how to swing conversations and negotiations in my favor, using all manner of verbal manipulation, and as the heir of the Okami family in this life, I had expanded my abilities, to the point that I had specifically learned how to artificially increase atmospheric pressure in a localized region to simulate a feeling of being overwhelmed, and stimulate someone's cells in certain ways from afar without them noticing in such a way that increases adrenaline and cortisol production, all in an effort to put them in a state of unease, to the point where most interactions fell under my control when I wanted them to.

I quickly brought my attention to the entering figure of Allmight, the number one hero of Japan, and supposed inspiration to everyone, it's obvious to me that Nezu had come here expecting me to be like most children, filled with hero worship, and desiring to become one myself, and as such bringing the man vaunted as the world's best would make most fall to their knees and beg to join UA, but I was different, I held no such awe, and saw the man for what he was, a naive, stupid man, who despite all his experience, still refused to see and understand the darkness of the world, similar to Nezu, the although Allmight at least can argue ignorance.

Satisfied with his shaking form, taking amusement that such a powerful individual was cowering in my mere presence, even if I had used my abilities to achieve said result, I drag my eyes back to Nezu.

Nezu, he was after all, the biggest threat here. Despite his lack of physical strength, his intelligence and mind rivals even my own, his abilities extraordinary, working his way up from a nobody to a person of major influence within society within a few years, he was an impressive creature, whose abilities I respected, most who knew as much about him as me would feel disgusted, after all, unlike Allmight, he could not argue ignorance, He knew just as well as I did how terrible our society is, How children are labeled heroes or villains simply due to their quirk, any quirk labeled "evil" instantly sentencing the child to a life of solitude, bullying, and exclusion, it was no wonder so many villains plagued this world, and yet he did little to help them, not that I blamed him, it would put his position in danger from enemies that don't want to change the status quo, and I knew he secretly wanted to change it, not that I would care much if he didn't, as I am quite literally physically incapable of caring about some random's on the street.

He continues to shiver under my gaze, as I take in his form, my eyes taking in the smallest of micro movements as I exploit every ability I have to maintain power over the negotiations, as when dealing with entities as dangerous as me and Nezu, one mistake can lead to all your plans falling apart, luckily for me, Nezu himself had come here expecting to meet a regular child, and as such, had not prepared for professional negotiations, a mistake he would likely not make again.

"You must be Nezu." I say, my tone bored and dismissive.

He takes a small moment to respond, one most wouldn't think important, but I knew his mind operated much faster than the normal human's, so it meant he was doing his best to figure out the perfect reply, good, it means he's unsure of the situation, and still trying to recover.

"Why yes I am, May I ask how you know of me?"

"Is it not normal to know someone as famous as you? Principal of UA." addressing him by his title while refusing to address his achievements removes legitimacy, and inspires doubt.

He has managed to bring his body back under control, but I can see the inner turmoil in his small, beady black eyes. 

I cut him off before he can speak.

"I heard you wanted to offer me a deal." as I pull the files from a table beside my bed, unnecessary, as I have already memorized the entire contract, but it adds legitimacy to what I say, reinforcing that what I read is a word for word representation of the offered contract.

"You offer to protect me in the upcoming trial, protecting me from any legal trouble in exchange for me joining UA, reporting all of my activities to you, attending therapy, and never leaving campus without your express permission, is this correct?" 

I see his form shiver again, my tone having turned distinctly hostile as I read the terms. Nier, still laying on my chest, growls slightly, but refuses to raise her head, and I find it cute how she pretends to be asleep. As I return to stroking her hair, even as my gaze returns to Nezu.

"Yes that is! I understand that you may not like these terms but you must understand I need something to appease the courts!" Despite the situation, his tone still maintains its happiness.

"Oh I understand, you do somehow have to appease those jury members, after all, about half of them have a bias against powerful quirks, quite strange really, I don't remember them being on the original team, but it seems the files for the original jury have disappeared quite well, I wonder if I should ask the courts to review the jury, after all, it's illegal to be forced to face a biased jury." I say, as I pretend to look over the files. Before bringing my eyes back to Nezu.

He visibly shudders, knowing I had caught him, but he quickly tries to play it off.

"Quite strange indee-"

"Cut the bullshit Nezu, I know you rigged my trial in your favor to force more favorable terms on the contract, so let's get to the point, I am willing to join UA to appease the courts, but nothing else, I will attend like a normal student, but will offer you nothing more, I will not report to you my activities, Nor will I require your permission to leave, In exchange, I won't release evidence of your attempts to rig my trial in your favor, do you understand?" 

"Ye-yes." good my aura is working on him. All the building stress meaning even with his powerful mind he's too overwhelmed to argue. And my mother passes him a new file, which he quickly signs, before passing it back to my mother, who then passes it to me, as I inspect the file, satisfied.

"Good, I will attend the upcoming entrance test to make the process of my enrollment easier. I hope to see you in court tomorrow, on my side."

"Very well." he stammers, almost running out of the room, followed by the incredibly confused Allmight, before the door closes behind them.

I stare at the door for a moment, before sighing.

"What's wrong? You did a great job turning the contract in your favor. You should be happy!" my mother tells me, her positivity infectious.

"Yeah, but now I have to attend UA?" I say, as I look down at Nier, who has since rolled over to face me, unwilling to admit I'm simply unhappy to be going to a different school as her, I freeze as I see a wide grin forming on her face.

"Don't tell me you're sad I wont be there." and despite my best efforts, my still damaged soul combined with my exhaustion leaves me with no response, as a small blush forms on my face.

She instantly shoots up, now sitting on her legs, her face covered in disbelief, as my parents both stare at me in shock, Nier's face slowly turning to a dumb smile.

"NO FUCKING WAY! I MADE FEN BLUSH."

"OH MY GOD HONEY LOOK, OUT LITTLE BOY'S FINALLY EMBARRASSED!" 

"HE'S FINALLY GROWING UP!"

My face drops as my hair covers my eyes, a quite growl forming in my throat.

"Aww, not used to being embarrassed are you, here, let mother comfort you."

My growl grows louder, as annoyance bubbles within me.

"There there, it's normal to be embarrassed."

My mom says, petting my ears slowly.

"Out….." I whisper quietly.

"Hmm what did you say?"

"I said, GET OUT!" before a portal appears below my parents and Nier, dropping them unceremoniously on the floor of our main house, which quickly snaps shut before they can respond.

I sigh, dropping my head into my hands. 'Fuck, I'm never going to live this down am I.' as I groan, again wondering if it would just be easier to just fuck off and abandon this personality.

(an, not sure how happy I am with this chapter's quality, but it still turned out pretty well in my opinion, sorry if you don't think this fits the mc's personality, I don't want him to be completely emotionless, or his relationship with Nier would never really work out, I want him to be weak to things concerning Nier and his family, so don't worry, like up until now, you'll only ever see the mc showing emotion when it concerns Nier. Also sorry if you don't think his reaction fits, he's not used to being embarrassed.)
