CHAPTER CONTINUES AFTER THIS :

We reached our base on the morning as we decided to rest.

In the evening we left again after resting and planning once again.

The info we extracted was crucial, it made many changes to our plan.

One of the biggest changes was that I wasn't allowed to go in first.

Both Schmidt and Zola were not at that base, it was a let down but since energy weapons were being produced there, it had to destroyed.

There was one thing also, I wanted to study how those energy weapons worked, it was a great breakthrough in energy science, so I was very tempted to take it for myself and study it.

We reached the other base by night as well.

Then, the same thing happened, it was a carnage.

All of the hydra personnel were killed, surprisingly, there were no captives or civilians.

Steve took out 30% of the soldiers by himself, his shield was really a hack, no matter how many times they shot him, it didn't matter with normal guns or energy weapons, he would still beat the life out of them

I just kept shooting them from the dark and saving anyone who was in danger.

The whole raid was completed in just half an hour.

Bucky was the only one injured as a bullet touched past his left hand, it grazed his left hand, ripped opened some skin and tore some muscles. I tended to that as I sealed up his wound perfectly after cleaning it up.

The medical technology was really not good right now in this era, I had seen enough memes of doctor cutting off whole limbs for these kinds of wounds, even if they were exaggerated, as a 'modern' doctor, I wasn't going to leave him like that.

Even if he were to lose his hand in future, I won't let that happen on my watch.

Leaving that aside, It was a waste that all the scientists committed suicide by swallowing the cyanide pill before we could reach them.

We searched for information, but all of that was burnt down by the scientists. This was the reason why I prefered way of assassination, nobody will know you are even there until the last possible second.

Apparently this wasn't a producing factory, it was a assembling factory.

Energy weapons core were bought here and assembled and then sent off to hydra HQ which no one knew where it was.

I got quite a few samples of the energy weapons and core batteries which I took immediately.

We salvaged anything we could, and activated the self destruct of the facility.

Using hydra vehicles, we passed out of the enemy territory, and made our way back to the SSR base, which was hundreds of KMs away.

It was a planned action, after the destruction of two supportive factories, both hydra and Nazi will scan the whole area surrounding Paris, everyone nook and cranny, and till then, our base will become a liability for us, so we decided to abandon it.

With it losing its advantage, it would be better to temporarily retreat.

I had taken off every piece of technology off that place along with rigging that place with explosives, an hour after we left, the whole place detonated and collapsed on itself.

We picked up our bags which we hid in the area and made our way back to SSR base.

It took a total of 2 days, making our way through forests, swamps and many different terrains, spearheading through many enemies that tried to stop us, but it was quite easy to pierce through them.

On the night of the second day, we reached the base.

Colonel Phillips welcomed us, along with the rest of the Howling Commandos who were still up waiting for their leader and the group that went with him.

Aldo and Steve along with Bucky met up with Phillips, and went off to discuss mission details.

Everyone was tired and hungry, so they preferred eat first.

I was still full of energy so I strolled around the base in stealth trying to find something of interest.

As I frolicked around, I finally stumbled upon the 'treasure'.
