Winding down and look around the house

The next morning, I felt whole, like there was a piece of me missing and I had just gotten it.

I could feel Hornet's breath on the back of my head, I felt warm and safe in her snuggle that she had me in.

alas, this wonderous and happy feeling had to dwindle at some point.

Hornet stirred, and woke up.

"was it all a dream?" Hornet asks.

"nope, all real." I say and turn around in the snuggle, and kiss her.

Hornets face turns a few shades redder.

"oh." Hornet seems to remember everything, and her face gets even redder.

getting up, I decided to go explore this house, because it both is the same house I grew up in, and at the same time there are things different.

'first stop, kitchen' I thought to myself.

making my way down the stairs to the first floor where the kitchen is, I hear Hornet follow me.

I get to the kitchen and look through the fridge, there was stuff for the type of sandwiches I liked.

so, I grabbed the stuff and put it on the counter and went to the pantry for bread.

"what's this?" Hornet asks looking at the fridge.

"you put food in it and it keeps it cold." I say getting the bread (ooh there's some fruit snacks, the ones with juice in them yoink.)

I began putting together sandwiches for me and Hornet. (I saw some Gatorade by the light switches nice)

"what are you making?" Hornet asks, apparently never having seen a sandwich before.

"its a sandwich, they are great." I say with full conviction.

I made two of them, one for me, one for Hornet. (with a packet of fruit snacks on the side)

"and this?" Hornet holds up the fruit snacks.

I respond by opening mine and taking out the fruit snacks and eating them one by one. (oh how I've missed this)

Hornet follows my example and when she puts the first one in her mouth I could practically see stars in her eyes.

she than had the rest of her packet, she looked at me with puppy eyes.

"no, you need to eat your sandwich." I say, and start eating mine.

once more Hornet does as I do, and picks up her sandwich, and starts eating it.

I swear it's like the first time Hornet has ever had good foo- oh, right.

after eating our sandwiches I tell Hornet she is not allowed to have another fruit pack until dinner.

she was really trying to burrow into my heart to get me to let her have another, but it won't work, I've seen lots of anime where it happens and I shall never falter!

"thank you Ember~" Hornet says after getting another fruit packet. (damn it)

we then went outside, I knew there was more to look around in the house but I just wanted to go and get more progress done, because I'm all energized because I had my favorite meal.

I looked around the cavern where my- our new home was (still getting used to that) and did not find another entry/exit point.

so I went out to head to the hub and see what the next tunnel looked like.

...looking at the tunnel I felt shivers down my spine, I knew those walls, I knew them quite well.

I hurred to get back to the house where Hornet is no doubt still eating her fruit pack because she wanted to savor the second one.

I moved as fast as I could and practically threw open the door.

"HORNET!" I yelled.

"yes?" Hornet asks peeking out from around the corner. (because the kitchen is right there and the living room is across from the kitchen on the left from the front door)

"we have a huge problem." I say, no nonsense and full of fear.

"what is it?" Hornet asks with a quite a bit of worry.

"the next tunnel its-"

...To be continued, at some point in the future perhaps.

(a/n bit of a shorter chapter but I didn't know what else to do right after that big moment, so here.)
