Pearl Earrings

Lin Huiying stood in the living room and looked at the familiar landscape outside the glass doors. After appreciating the view, she turned and entered the hallway was long enough for a catwalk filled with her mother's paintings and their picture frames.

At the end of the hallway in the east wing, there was a curved staircase with a carpet runner. She climbed the stairs and reached the second floor where their bedrooms were located.

She entered her room and directly went to her walk-in closet. There she opened her drawer where her accessories were orderly placed.

She looked at few pearl earrings which might match the selected head accessories and dress. After being satisfied with her selection she approached her bed and jumped on it. It was a king-size Ophelia bed. The same choice throughout all the bedrooms.

"Ah, this is what you call a bed!" She said while rolling on her bed and moving her hands and legs like a kid playing in the snow.

She had been sleeping on the bed in her courtyard which was far from being soft. It seems like someone has just spread a double folded thick blanket on a wooden plank. She had to ask them to triple that layer before she could sleep on it while using her pillows from the space.

The best feature she discovered so far was that no matter how much stuff she takes out from her mental space, it gets replenished in the house. In other words, she can bring out a packet of biscuits to feed the whole empire and she still won't run out of it.

After enjoying her stay, she came out of her space and placed the pearl earrings on her vanity along with other prepared accessories.

Then she went to have a beauty sleep.

Another good thing that happened to her after coming to this world is that she no longer had to suffer from insomnia, occipital neuralgia, migraines, and severe hunger pangs.

All her health conditions had gone away since she was in a healthy body from this world.

"Young miss, it's time to wake up." Sheng Jie called Lin Huiying in the morning.

Lin Huiying: "Hmmm…..five minutes."

Sheng Jie: "It has been fifteen minutes since you last said that."

Lin Huiying: "Then add and make it twenty."

Sheng Xie: "Let me do it." She moved her sister and started to shake her young miss. It had become the twins' daily routine. Every day they try to wake her up hoping she would wake up without them having to shake her up, but they fail every day.

After all that shaking, Lin Huiying woke up with a pillow in between her legs and bed hair while massaging her sour right shoulder

Lin Huiying eyed her maids: "You both have no mercy."

Sheng Jie: "How can we? When it's already 9 o'clock."

Sheng Xie: "Did you again sleep late?"

Lin Huiying: "Only a tiny bit. But I was doing something useful. It was a righteous cause." She said with a straight and proud face.

Sheng Jie: "What righteous think that could be? Could you grace us with the answer young miss?"

Lin Huiying laughed a little at her sarcasm: "Go to the vanity and check out the earrings I prepared. I had to search so much just to find them in the wardrobe."

Sheng Xue, the active one went and searched for them. When she found them, she picked up and exclaimed, "Ah, young miss they are so pretty, where did you get them from?"

Sheng Jie who was looking at her sister, saw the earrings when she brought them close and raised her eyebrows, "We have never seen them. I doubt if anyone in the imperial city would have seen such pretty pearls and design of earrings."

Lin Huiying looked at the twins who were admiring the earrings and said the prepared excuse, "Well, I had found them when I was young from some merchants who were selling exquisite and antic accessories. No one appreciated them, but I have good eyes for such things. I bought the raw material and turned them into something no one would have imagined. Aren't I a genius? I have a lot of such things stored in the trunk in my wardrobe."

Sheng Jie narrowed her eyes: "Really? How come we didn't know about it?"

Lin Huiying: "Because you both are ignorant." After replying she went to the bathroom to take the bath and escape from more probing.
