Her Cheat (2)

Her family was not like a fantasy. Not all-smile-and-laughter. All had their share of bitter life.

They had their bad and worst days too. Her parents had struggled immensely during their youth, not in the outside world, but inside their family. Under the rule of her grandfather. The typical (scumbag) old money.

So, both her brother and she had matured quite early for their age. The after-effects of their childhood had left some bitter pain in the sibling.

Lin Huiying suffered depression and anxiety for nearly eight years, but she was able to overcome it, but her brother... was intelligent with a high IQ but low EQ. That guy had his demons. Ego was a big one. He might himself not understand his mental condition. But he was one lucky guy to have a close family who absorbed all the hurt and tantrums he threw.

Lin Huiying had lived alone with him for two years. They fought a lot. She cried nearly five days out of the week. It had turned into a toxic relationship at one point. But she loved him. And was a big empath.

She had always been interested in psychology, so she had read a ton of books regarding that. She could somehow understand where he was coming from. She just stopped minding him so much at one point. She had her own belief for not leaving. Her mother had told her:

'A potter can shape the mud only till it's wet. Once it's soaked in the heat from the sun and gets hard then even the potter is left with only two choices. Either he breaks it or accepts the vessels however it is made while decorating it however he can and keep it by his side. These relations are also similar to the wet mud. Once it's soaked in the heat of life and gets hard, then only two options are left. Either break it or accept however they are.'

She didn't believe in breaking relationships. Because she (mother) was a saint. A kind-hearted person. Who would even shed tears at the death of someone who made her cry tears of blood – her stepmother-in-law. But that didn't mean that she was weak. She was mentally the strongest person in her family with an equally high IQ and extremely good-looking.

"Ah, I suddenly miss her now!" Lin Huiying sighed while standing in front of the glass door and staring at the ocean.

She was standing in her living room where nature comes in through high ceiling to floor windows and with the ocean and the garden come in there to her living room.

All the sliding doors which can be completely pushed inside the wall open up to the ocean and three acres of the beautiful landscape which gives an authentic indoor-outdoor living experience.

She stood there and enjoyed the feeling of home. It's soft because the lighting comes in through huge glass doors and windows. In her memory, it's always light and happy.

In the whole house, there was a mixture of wide plank oak flooring and marble flooring. Throughout the house, there were big windows that allow the natural light to lit up the place during the daytime.

The house looks huge but it gives a warm and homely feeling while still looking sophisticated. Their family liked the homely feeling rather them turning the house into a museum – big and boring with nothing but order, neatness, and elegance.

Every part of the house had different elements. For example, the powder room on the main floor had cartoon pufferfish wallpaper which looks very cool.

There was a total of six bedrooms in the house and seven bathrooms: Parent's, brother's, her, niece, nephew, and a huge guest bedroom which had four bunk beds big enough to comfortably accommodate five to six people with a sliding room opening to the 55 ft. infinity pool with a beach view.

A cozy library with a gorgeous fireplace, a long attic, a kid's playroom containing all their indoor toys, educational and storybooks, craft materials, etc. The heart of the house: beautiful and well-equipped kitchen since out of five adults four can cook delicious food along with a huge pantry room connected to it.

They were Chinese living in the USA who loved to eat so they stored all the species, ingredients, food brought/parcelled from China in the pantry along with their daily groceries and snacks. They would never lack in this department. There was even a huge freezer in their storeroom which stored frozen food.

Their house was technologically upgraded to make life easy. In simple words, anyone who would saw their house would fall in love with it at first sight.
