Chapter 7: Hobbiton

[General POV]

As they advanced towards Hobbiton, Gandalf took out his pipe, filled it with some tobacco and then lit it with a bit of magic.

Sore in the butt and seeing that they had been moving forward for a few hours now without seeing any sign of Hobbiton, Aldril turned to look at Gandalf impatiently. "How long until we get there? My poor ass needs a break from this stupid dilapidated saddle!" he expressed in frustration.

At his complaint, Shadowstar whinnied indignantly, as if he was claiming to him that he wanted to get rid of this old saddle.

Aldril gaze met Shadowstar and he could see the frustration reflected in his eyes. "I know, buddy. I promise I'll find you a new saddle and then we'll get rid of this old saddle that stains your noble and beautiful figure" Aldril promised sincerely, stroking Shadow Star neck affectionately.

The horse whinnied and raised its head in a sign that it liked Aldril words and caresses.

Hearing Aldril complaints and his interaction with Shadowstar, Gandalf turned to look at him and with a small laugh replied, "Haha, Hobbiton isn't too far away, so you can both hang on a bit longer" Then exhaled a puff of smoke and turned his gaze to the horizon.

...

After a few minutes in silence, they could both see on the horizon a small village full of small wooden bunker-shaped houses, delicately carved wooden doors, small fences, flowers of all colors, stone paved roads, crystal clear rivers, busy little hobbits, barefoot running along the wooded hillside paths, even hobbit children could be seen playing in the river.

At the sight, Gandalf looked at Aldril and with a triumphant face pointed towards the approaching village " See, I told you, there wasn't much time left for us to get there".

Aldril nodded with a smile, his gaze focused on the beautiful village "What a relaxing and beautiful landscape" he muttered under his breath.

....

As they entered the village, Aldril felt as if he was in a fairy tale at such scenery.

If seeing the landscape through a screen he was amazed, now that he saw it in person, he was in love. "Maybe when I grow old in the future, it would be a good choice to come here to retire and settle down" he mused, shaking his head at his own thought. "It's still too early to think about retiring" he reminded himself.

His thoughts were interrupted by Gandalf cheerful voice. "It's beautiful, isn't it? When I first came here, I was amazed as well."

"It is truly beautiful," stated Aldril as he looked excitedly at Hobbiton.

Hearing Aldril's response, Gandalf smiled and stated "Of course, the home of the hobbits is one of the most beautiful places in all of Middle Earth, I always like to visit these jolly little hobbits."

....

After a few minutes, Gandalf took a last puff on his pipe, then turned to Aldril "Let's go to the market and get rid of this venison as soon as possible," suggested Gandalf "It has been exposed to the sun for half a day, and if you wait any longer, the meat will rot and you won't be able to sell it."

Hearing Gandalf's words, Aldril nodded "You are right, however, I am not familiar with this place Where is the market?"

"Come with me," Gandalf replied with a friendly smile, as Aldril followed at a leisurely pace.

"I hope and get a good price for the meat and wolf pelts, with that money I get I will need to buy provisions," Aldril muttered as he followed Gandalf.

Hearing Aldril's murmur, Shadowstar whinnied softly. "Yes, friend, I'll also see if they have any new saddles" he added, while petting Shadowstar.

....

[In the night]

Inside a noisy hobbiton tavern Gandalf and Aldril could be seen drinking "Ahh! This orange juice tastes delicious" exclaimed Aldril after taking a big gulp of his drink.

At Aldril's exclamation, Gandalf laughed and curiously asked "Why don't you like to drink beer Aldril? You're the only man I've seen in a long time who turns down a good mug of ale."

Raising his eyebrows at Gandalf's question, Aldril pondered for a moment then replied, "I have seen how alcohol makes men stupid. I prefer to keep my mind clear, and be alert at all times."

Nodding, Gandalf raised his jar. "That's a good mentality," he commented approvingly before raising the mug to his lips and taking a sip of his ale.

A moment later, a jovial voice echoed from the neighboring table. "Cheers, to the travelers!" exclaimed a hobbit with a friendly smile as he raised his mug of ale.

Watching as everyone raised their mugs, Aldrin and Gandalf did the same as they smiled "Cheers/ Cheers haha!"
