We arrived at Drake's place, "See you tomorrow, Drake." I waved goodbye from his doorstep, and he smiled back. I went home normally, and to my surprise, we have guests at home, I went to the kitchen and asked mom, "Mom, who are those people who are on the living room?" I pointed on the couch, she chuckled and wiped my face, "Did you forget? Those people are the ones who invited us to someone's birthday." she replied while chopping some onions.

I looked back at the people on the couch talking to my dad, and I realized that the girl from her birthday party was there, I went upstairs to change my clothes and to take an afternoon shower. "Adam, food's ready!" my mother shouted, "Okay, I'll go down!" I replied while doing my hair, I waved hello to Louise and she just frowned.

Did I do something wrong? Well, I should go introduce myself to Mr. Damon, I shook hands with him and my dad suddenly put his arms around my shoulders, "This is my son here, he is incredibly smarter than me, he was even enrolled to the Huete University to be a Giere officer." both of them laughed and I sighed.

I looked back at Louise and she was accompanied by my mom and Ellie, I took my dad's arms off my shoulders and decided to take a cookie from the table, not long after, my mother slapped my hand quietly, "Don't eat that, it's for the guests." she whispered, "What will happen if they won't eat it?" I asked, she just shrugs and put it at the center of the guests, they ate the cookies--all of them.

My stomach growled as I watched them ate all the cookies, I frowned and mother pats my back, "You should escort Louise around the house with Ellie." she looked at me and smiled, "Ellie is fine with her Mom" I replied, "Ellie, wouldn't it be great to escort Louise around the house?" she looked at Ellie, and she nods.

Ellie took Louise's arms and pulled her from the couch, I looked at them and Ellie took my arms too. "We should show her our secret base Brother!" she smiled brightly and pulled us outside, she dragged us towards our tree house, and pointed it with her hand, "This is our secret base, we built it two years ago" she chuckled and hugged Louise, "I've never have a big sister like you."

"Ellie, that's bad manners! I am sorry for her attitude Louise, she likes to have a big sister actually." I took Ellie from Louise's body, and glanced at her face and she was flustered and she was blushing. "Ellie, I told you not to do that" I looked at her and she nods, "No it's okay, I've never hugged someone before, so I was flustered" she cleared her throat and approached me.

"I see, still, I'm sorry for making you astonished earlier" I bowed to show some apology, "Oh that's right, I need to go feed Fluffy<her dog>" Ellie went inside the house. I looked at Louise an she was very quiet, "Umm, how many days has it been?" I asked to break away from this awkwardness, "I didn't count" she replied coldly, "How old are you, by the way" I asked out of curiousness.

"You seriously came for my birthday party and you didn't even remember my age?" she replied while shouting, "Sorry, you're seven right?" I scratched my neck and took a glimpse on her, she pouted, "Was I wrong?" I asked, "No." she replied coldly as always, "You don't have to force yourself on being perfect you know...." I looked at her and she was a little down.

She then drifted on me, "You think maturely, just like your father said, unlike me, I am a childish person." she replied while sitting on the tree house chair, "What makes you say that? We are children after all." I sat beside her and she was quiet, "You're half right and you're half wrong" she looked at me frowning.

"Huh?" I was confused, "Don't mind what I said, you were enrolled to Huete university right?" she brushes off the dirt on her skirt, "Yeah, what about it?" I asked her while putting the windows open, "It was easy for you right? For me, I need to work hard and to achieve everyone's expectations." she stood up and went down the tree house, "Louise...." I called her from behind, "Be selfish, it's that easy." I smiled and she continued to go inside the house.

It was time for them to leave, and Ellie keeps on tugging Louise's arms, she doesn't want her to leave, "Ellie, you should wait for her to visit us back." I pulled her away and she sighed, "It's okay" Louise smiled, we bowed to show some appreciation on visiting us. They waved goodbye, and went inside their fancy chariot.

My mother, cleaned the leaving room, "Lucky you Adam, Louise Scott is also going into Huete University" dad poked my cheek and chuckled, "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked out of annoyance, "Come on, you're that smart, but you can't even observe very little things." he poked harder, "Ow. I only have one concrete goal." I shouted and slid away from him, he looks at me and spoke, "And what is that?"

"I am going to be a Giere officer and punish evil people." I replied while preparing to defend myself, his arms came wide and rushed towards me, he grasped me around my waist and carries me backwards. *Thud* My head was thorbbing and I touched my forehead, I was bleeding, "Adam!" my mother gasped from the kitchen and rushed towards me, she carefully lift my head and looked at Father, "I can't believe you performed German suplex on your child, Lucas." she carefully wrapped a bandage around my head and escorted me outside.

Father looked at us on the door and spoke, "What can I do for help?" he was sweating and was shaking nervously, "You sit there and do nothing." Mother replied while putting me inside the chariot, "Where are you going?" Father asked and scratched his neck, "Where do you think we're going after what you did to Adam?" mother shouted and went inside the chariot, we left.

At the clinic...

"It's a little damaged but, I think he will recover for a week." the doctor scribbled something on his paper, "You should be careful next time." he handed the paper to mother and drifted back to me, "Thank you so much sir." mother escorted me towards the door and thanked the doctor. I looked at him and there was a shadow lurking around him, and I looked back at my mother and all was fine, I sighed (Maybe I was just hallucinating).

We arrived back on our house and Father was there sitting on the couch--speechless, "Go buy some groceries, Lucas." mother cleaned the table and Father nods, he approached me, "Adam, you cheeky kid, since when did you injure my arms like this." he showed me his left forearm and it was bruised, I smirked and he just chuckled, he went outside to buy some groceries.

"Ellie, could you hand me the book?" I asked while lifting my arm up, she hurriedly took the book and gave it to me, "You act all tough but you're as fragile as a glass, brother." she smiled and laughed, "I didn't act that way....." I sighed and smiled. It was night time and father escorted me towards my room, "Sleep well, Adam" he carefully shut the door.

"Shade, what was that earlier" I spoke while standing before the window

'That is called a "Murk" it is not often seen by normal people, unlike you.' Shade appeared before me

"What is that?" I asked, 'It is a darkness or thick mist that surrounds people whose mind is dark, or should I say evil.' he pointed his head

"Should I ignore it?" I asked while clenching my fist, 'It depends on you...you're the one who can see them.' he shrugs, "It feels like he's wearing a mask like that man." I frowned and Shade comforted me.

'You must better focus on yourself from now, you're still a kid' he disappeared and I went to bed, (Yeah, I should not act like an adult would) I closed my eyes, and I was asleep.

Few years has passed, and it was time for me to transfer to Huete University.

It was time for me to graduate from elementary school, in the graduation ceremony, my mother brushed off the dust from my uniform, "This is your last year on being a kid you know, you should act properly." she smiled and raised her brows, "Thank you mom." I hugged her to comfort her emotions.

As a valedictorian in this school I need to make a farewell speech and a thank you message to everyone, "I would like to call, Adam Grey as a fellow valedictorian." the teacher called me on the stage, I went upstairs and stood before everyone, "Say your speech." he bowed and went to the backstage.

"My name is Adam Grey and a fellow graduate, I would like to make this short and simple. Don't force yourself on being perfect, no one is, so just try hard and reach the heights of your own goal. Thank you for trying your best until the very end." I bowed and went backstage, I could hear the people clapping their hands. "You did well, Adam." Mr. Fourne pats my back and smiled, I smiled back.

"Thank you!"

And just like that, the 6 years of learning the basics about life. It is time to begin a new chapter--a new page of my life, to move forward to reach my goals.

From reading books from those dusty shelves, to being a valedictorian. Heh, I'm off with a good start. I'll show the world how it works!

"Let's, write a new start of my life!" I smiled and proud to see the road of my life.
