The wolfs mate

Max locks the door behind them and crouches down next to Marcy they are both shaking. Max lifts her phone and notices that Dexter hung up. The girls are locked inside with no way of knowing what is happening outside of the bathroom door. They know the wolves have arrived, they are there to try and protect them because they can hear howling and screaming coming from right outside the door. Marcy held Max as she cries quietly into her shoulder and they both slide down the bathroom wall to crouch on the floor. The screams and banging continue from outside the door and it sounds like the whole house is going to cave in at any moment. After the girls huddle there for what feels like hours the house suddenly goes quiet. Marcy looks at Max and asks "where is Ian, do you think he knows?" Max hugs her tight and looks around the bathroom as if she is trying to figure out their next move. "Max" Dexter yells from downstairs. Max slides herself across the bathroom floor and places her hand on the door. "It's gonna be okay" max says and lifts herself off the bathroom floor and then swings the door open ready to Sprint down the stairs to Dexter, but Max is met with Ian's gaze instead. His eyes no longer an emerald green they are now a dark mossy color filled with hear and rage only enhanced by the hunters blood on his cruel twisted face. "I'm gonna go see who needs my help" max stammers as she ducks around Ian who was looking through her and right at Marcy any ways. "Marcy" Ian says as he moves twords the woman who is still curled up shaking involuntarily in the corner of the bathroom floor. He reaches out his hand to help her up "are you okay?" Marcy looks up to meet his gaze and nods her head reaching up to his extended hand. Ian pulls Marcy out of the floor and can read the shock on her face. "It's okay, it's gonna be okay.

The hunters

The next day Max and Marcy spend the day in the house hiding out occasionally peeking out the window to make sure the pack is still near by. The girls spend most of the day on the couch watching trashy movies to pass the time while they wait. While they are waiting the girls decide on pizza for dinner. "Should we order enough for everyone" Macy asks turning to look at Max. Max shrugs "may as well"

* Max

I guess I'll let them know when the food is here since Marcy is ordering it for them. Guess she knows her way into a wolf pack, much like any man food...food is the way to any man's heart. However the wolves enjoy food even more especially when they get to eat as a pack or a family. the wolves may look tough but they are just big puppies.

Max smiles and reaches into her pocket to slide her phone out. Unlocking the phone Max opens up her messages and clicks on Dexter's name. it had been months since the two of them had talked. "Here goes nothing".

"We're gonna order some pizza for everyone, I'll let you know when it's almost here."

"Sounds perfect love, I will make sure that they are on their best behavior...or I can leave the kids at home and we can just make it a date!?"

"Family dinner will be fine for now, I'll let you know when it's here"

*Text from Dexter

"That will have to do then love, whatever it is you want"

Max locks her phone smiling and sets it on the kitchen counter. If only that man weren't so set in his ways he would be a perfect mate. "Earth to Max" Marcy smiles at her. "What's gotten into you?" "it's nothing really just my fiance, I guess" max shrugs. "Excuse me?" Marcy shrieks, "a fiancee since when?" "Since my first change I guess...he claimed me, but nothing has been made official Ian has held them off so I could live out a somewhat normal life but Dexter has been very patient with me." "What the, claimed you and that's okay?" "Wolves are different Marcy it's not something I expect you to understand. Plus Dexter is very traditional and has completely stepped back to allow me to live my normal life while I can. He's a good man but he's not like Ian when it comes to not wanting to force anything on anyone. Ian believes like our parents did, he believes in freewill and true love he really is a big softy." Marcy arched an eyebrow at the remark, almost as if she was trying to set Marcy up with Ian again knowing her brother would never cross that line.the door bell rings "great saved by the pizza" Marcy cheered as she headed twords the door with max right behind her. Maxes phone buzzes she picks it up and grabs Marcy by the shoulder as she goes to put her hand on the door . Marcy turns to look at Max who has the phone up to her ear still. Max has lost all color in her face and stands there with her mouth gaped open. Max grabs Marcy by the wrist and starts to pull her up the stairs as the door cracks and bangs while they kick it in. "Hunters?" is all Marcy can muster as they clear the last of the stairs and duck into the bathroom, slamming the door behind them.
